I wonder if a new PSO based on the original formula with a much larger landscape could work in this day and age?

Is it an instanced dungeon crawler with 4 people like the original or is it an MMO?

I'm referring to the original dungeon crawling format. I definitely don't want a PSO MMO!

Phantasy Star still has so much potential. New Genesis was a good game but was missing a good loot ramp and the character customization was a mess.

You got to be kidding me New Genesis is a good game? Only if you love Animu waifu dress up games, gatcha mechanics and a game with a serious lack of content and a lack of a decent gameplay loop in favor of chasing gaming trends that don't go well with the franchise.

I'm glad that they didn't name the game Phantasy Star Online 3 and went with New Genesis instead because it doesn't deserve the name.

I said it was a good game with problems. I didn't call it great, amazing, or gods gift to mortals. Why so offended?

The core gameplay mechanics were sound and the world design was great. It was all the f2p trappings and bs that held it back.

Basically yes and has the illusion of MMO. Still load into a zone beat boss bail to lobby.
