Microsoft Rewards |OT| Get Game Pass for free

Did some research and with that 100k yearly cap Microsoft put into place, it is impossible to earn enough points for Game Pass Ultimate. GPU requires 28500 points a month. 100k is 8333 points a month max. That leaves 20k a month. No way to generate that many points.

So I'll just do the dailies and let it build up until I have enough for......something else.

For every day you log in in the Xbox app 5 day log in streak, they lowered the points from 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 to 2, 6, 10, 14, 16. That's -3, -4, -5, -6, -7.

You get more points deduction for each day of the streak. Play PC game went from 10 to 5.
 
Just did the weekly. They kinda nerfed the rewards for Game Pass but as a pass-time for gaining passive

The issue with that is if you get a Rewards based gift card you have to use it within 90 days, IIRC.

So there's not a lot of lead-in room there.

Unless there's some really good stuff here, I'll just continue stockpiling the points.

Morbid curiousity on what this "sales" actually entails, but I suspect I'll continue stockpiling as well. Rewards poins are going to take a hit for me in January when Game Pass runs out though. Used to be I had enough to pay for GP as well as get a Best Buy gift card every now and then. And that is after all the hits the program has taken the last couple of years. This is finally the one that kicks me out of Game Pass.

is there even a way to find out specifically or do i need to contact them? i've never seen one personally, just people posting random generic "you didn't follow tos" notifications. i got a little notification on the bottom of the bing app last time that just said im on cooldown. not this time though. i think they just hate me now.

maybe they're cracking down further on vpn use even though i exclusively use a vpn (i live in US and use a server close to my home) for the last several years with no issue. idk who knows lol

also, i bet this sale is gonna be like 10% off :)

I'm not sure. I've never got a 'cooldown' message myself. I'm an upstanding citizen and not a shady character like you, so I'm sure that's it. :messenger_sunglasses:

lol....I've got zero excitement for this "sale". 10% sounds about right tho

Looking into this, the 100k cap is just the max GPU subscribers can earn, up from 58k. We can still get more with everything else added, not that I'm doing that junk anymore.

There was a cap before? I'm not on GPU any more but I know I've hit more than 100k in a year.

I think maybe "cap" is the wrong word. 58k was the max possible from GPU activities and now it's 100k. Total MS points earned in a year has no set limit but there must be max total possible with variables for points earned on purchases.
 
Time to pour one out for this thread. We did good though.

To date, I never paid a penny for GPU, good for another 24 months.

And by then...it'll probably be £60 a month.

Really is too bad. Of all the changes they did, forcing gift cards instead of points for GP is the one that finally did me in. I guess MS wasn't getting enough Bing revenue out of it.

Keepers and Outer Worlds 2 will be my last two Rewards funded Game Pass games as mine runs out in January. Sucks

Cancelled both my Gamepass sub and Microsoft Office Sub today. I'll just use my Job licenses for work stuff and as far as game pass, they can eat a dick until they lower prices.
