At 7:48 he shows how many real Xbox fans (not the fake ones doing PR) like zanny, XBG, Stallion83 (The guy with worlds biggest Gamerscore in Xbox)
I still remember playing Phantasy Star Universe on Xbox 360 everyday after school.
Yup. This is when Xbox changed for the worst and never recovered in my opinion. Xbox from 2002 to 2007 was fantastic. As soon as Moore left in 2007 and the corporate suits took over the end was inevitable.
Every "mistake" since then is a result.

But..but isn't Phil a real gamer, who only wants the best?the corporate suits took over
There were some "come clean Microsoft" narrative in 2017-2022, at that time MS want pushing "We are evil in 90's and 2000's, but we come clean now"Microsoft's internal corporate culture has no concern for the consumer. Never had.
For a while the Xbox brand seemed immune to it, but slowly thus cancer has spread and took over Xbox.

Beaucse evil Google with other giant new tech company exists, so they did improve some of them reputation
What will happened in a alt universe Xbox didn't acquire ABK, but putting their funding and effort on XGS+Zenimax and raising smaller 3rd party studio gem to GP?
like fixing redfall to a 8/10 game, better development of Starfield, operating better on halo infinite etc, with selection of tasteful small studio work like palworld and COE33
The suits taking over was inevitable no matter what even is Moore stayed simply because it's Microsoft. Xbox was given a long leash most likely because they were new and Microsoft wanted in the industry so they kind of had to let the people that knew more about gaming run it for awhile. Once they got established there was no chance Microsoft didn't slowly "take it over".As soon as Moore left in 2007 and the corporate suits took over the end was inevitable.

Why anybody thinks Microsoft is a good company I'll never know. They have always been a shitty company with shitty practices so nothing should really be a surprise to anyone. Even the reason why they entered the console space stems from them not wanting Sony to "encroach on their territory" so to speak.Microsoft's internal corporate culture has no concern for the consumer. Never had.

I vaguely remember a lot of people being excited when he took over because he was a gamer.But..but isn't Phil a real gamer, who only wants the best?
Xbox was never more than a side project for Microsoft. It was an attempt at a Trojan horse into people's living rooms as an all-in-one device. They thought they were ready for that with the launch of the Xbox One, but obviously were not.It will be studied in the future how Xbox, with all the money in the world, ended up like this and its leaders acted as if nothing had happened.

They then wanted to go all in on GamePass and take over the industry that way. If all Xbox can be for them is a videogame console, they don't see it worthwhile at all. Which is why it seems like they are actively trying to kill the console.
This guy is a bit of a chop, like most influencers.
But everything comes to an end sometime, Even mighty Nintendo will crash and burn some day.
ppl actually believe this crap before launch of starfieldI vaguely remember a lot of people being excited when he took over because he was a gamer.
It's a shame we didn't also know that he was a compulsive liar![]()

It was on top a terrible timing, because of the Edward Snowden story. They thought they were ready for that with the launch of the Xbox One, but obviously were not.
I agree with the second part, but they invested a shitload of money and did till the end of the 360 everything to "win" or at least to be a serious rival.Xbox was never more than a side project for Microsoft. It was an attempt at a Trojan horse into people's living rooms as an all-in-one device.
People often mistakenly attribute the Xbox's downfall and destruction to the Activision acquisition. But the problem started long before that. I won't even bring up what happened in the previous generation, because I believe that during that time Microsoft was still determined and trying. In my view, they actually ended that generation on a positive note. However, the Series generation began with one major mistake after another. What will happened in a alt universe Xbox didn't acquire ABK, but putting their funding and effort on XGS+Zenimax and raising smaller 3rd party studio gem to GP?

Every sitcom needs a person we all can make fun off.Xbox can´t leave, if they do, who will fill the meme gap?

Their collaboration with 3rd parties was also kinda dullPeople often mistakenly attribute the Xbox's downfall and destruction to the Activision acquisition. But the problem started long before that. I won't even bring up what happened in the previous generation, because I believe that during that time Microsoft was still determined and trying. In my view, they actually ended that generation on a positive note. However, the Series generation began with one major mistake after another.
To start with, they launched the Series consoles without a single first-party title. Sony had a beautiful remake of Demon's Souls, a new Spider-Man, and a few smaller games. And as if it wasn't bad enough that Microsoft didn't have a single game ready for launch, they also had a disastrous reveal of Halo Infinite, which became a global meme and laughingstock. A great start, huh?
Then came 2021, and things seemed to be looking up. They released the excellent Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite turned out better than most people expected. That same year, they acquired Bethesda. Once again, things seemed to be getting back on track — "the year of Xbox" finally looked like it was coming. But once again, they made a series of terrible decisions.
Ever since acquiring Bethesda, Microsoft had been promoting Redfall as a major title. It was featured prominently in several showcases and even used as the "one more thing" reveal in one of them. Microsoft was still suffering from a lack of major first-party releases — a leftover issue from the Xbox One era — but they bet heavily on the wrong horse. Redfall was a complete failure, and once again a wave of negativity fell over the brand. The most incredible part of all this is that they had a gem in their hands: Hi-Fi Rush. Not only did they fail to properly value that game, but they committed the atrocity of shutting down the studio behind it. How do you completely ignore one of the best games in your catalog and then close the studio that made it? It's unbelievable — but that's exactly what they did.
It's worth remembering that after Redfall, our friend Phil Spencer had already thrown in the towel. His appearance on a podcast was marked by a catatonic expression, a complete lack of faith in the brand, and a funeral-like atmosphere. At that point, he probably already knew or suspected all the consequences that were about to unfold.
But was there still any hope left? Starfield, the next big RPG from the creators of Skyrim, was set to release in 2023. Well, everyone knows how that turned out (even today, Starfield remains a poorly rated game on Steam — something that, apparently, will never change).
Everything that happened after the idea of acquiring Activision was irrelevant. The brand was already doomed long before that. And after more than a decade of Spencer in charge, I can say this with certainty: even without the Activision acquisition, as long as that man remained in control of the division, nothing would have changed.
What truly killed Xbox were the years of Phil Spencer's (and friends) mismanagement.
I think we all know who they are and they know who they are. Have fun drowning with the ship losers!
How has Dolt Eastwood reacted to the game pass situation?
I'm sure, he did, that was his plans. But it never got hold on traction. What happen during the Xbox one beginning really mess up Xbox. They was hoping they could flip the switch in 2-3 years. But it never happen. Now the top brass is like, they down with it. They invest a lot and they need that money back now. It more like how private equity companies do when they buy a company. MS right now is just squeezing every oz they can for how long they can and then shut down whatever part that is not making money at all for xbox. Before long, they will 100% be just a publisher. Depends how good that does, they either keep it going or slowing squeezing it out and sell them down the road. They gonna make there money back one way or another and just let Xbox die.But..but isn't Phil a real gamer, who only wants the best?

This. Only companies surviving are those with a perfect product or infinite money glitch. This guy is a bit of a chop, like most influencers.
