Same shit here. I wasted more than a couple of years of my life doing nothing and wondering why I didn't have anyone in my life. Didn't realize that up until that point I had been lucky with girls simply appearing in my life without me actually doing any effort.
And as soon as I started doing something, I stop being lonely.
I would suggest to get a job in a small shopping center, where there are always young people working there, so meeting new people is easier and if doesn't seem to be working, just quit and find another job somewhere else.
I'm sure there is something exactly like that for people over thirty.
