The Outer Worlds 2 - Reviews Thread

Is anyone making the OT ?

To be honest I couldn't really stand a lot about the first game. I just started playing, but I already sense that Obsidian had more fun making this one.

Peoples who didn't even try to play Avowed sure are 100% certain they made the right decision. Grifters told me it was bad, ha ha ha, I cannot form an opinion myself, I would be out of the herd and not be cool like peoples saying "AVOIDED"
:messenger_tears_of_joy: OMG THAT IS SOO SMART AND FUNNY!

I think that was John Gonzalez.
Thank you for clarifying, what I meant to say is I don't think New Vegas team worked on the Outer Words - the writer is listed as Leonard Boyarsky. The guy worked on the original Fallout and Vampire Bloodlines, then somehow went from this to the abomination that was Diablo 3, so I don't really know wtf happened here.

ACG proven to be real G, at the end of his review he said full blank game didnt grab him and its at most worth playing on gamepass or wait for sale, in grades thats around 6/10 score since a buy would be at least 8/10.
Glad to see he didnt follow the money/didnt become yet another sellout professional reviewer :)

Is the real G because didn't liked the game? lol
All those that liked it are shills?

The OC also increased from 81 to 83 since review day.

So far, this seems to have been received fairly well both critically and from players.

GG Obsidian.

I suspect that the user score on Steam might be a bit inflated, considering these are people who are very hyped for this game. So there might be a positivity bias.
Let's see how it goes when the game releases for everyone else.

He didnt like the game and informed us about this, tons of sellout reviewers give high scores to those shitty games yet they know deep down those games are pure shit, thats why we call them sellouts after all ;)
U think overall metascore from reviewers, being fucking 83 is how the reviewers actually thought that game deserves? Or 62 for concord? Or 82 for veilguard...
There is tons more examples too, its not about sony, microsoft or w/e, those reviewers are simply not genuine.
Destruction allstars got 62, so bit above avg, and we all know very well that game was super shit, well below avg ;)
4 out of fucking 59 reviewers gave it below 50 meta, so what it deserved, thats 7%, total sellouts (11 reviews, 20%) gave it scores of 75 and above, nuff said ;)

There are hundreds of examples this gen alone of how bad/inacurate/ not genuine majority of professional reviewers are.

Edit:
Last but not least example, veilguard got 75 or higher meta from 55 reviewers(thats 75% of all reviews), only 18 prof journos gave it mixed score(50-74) and 0 of reviewers gave it below 50 meta aka what it deserved.
And let me remind u, EA didnt even implemented denuvo into pc version coz upkeep is 25k usd/month and game was so bad no1 wanted to even pirate that shit and ofc EA knew it.

Played it. Not enough to form an opinion yet, but yeah, maxed out on PC with ray tracing on, it looks really impressive.
It looks decent.
I was never fond of this particularly art style and the NPCs look like plastic. I can live with that if the rest is good.

I also appreciate the story backgrounds you can choose for your character, especially the "I just stumbled into this and have no idea what's going on" background. Some funny dialogue with that so far.

Yes, the characters are still stiff, but the environments and lighting, especially indoors with all the machinery and metallic surfaces, look really nice.

I'm playing a gambler background with that lucky trait and I'm having a blast so far. I'm shocked to admit.

|OT| We're part of MS, of course we hate capitalism!

88% positive on Steam got me intrigued. It can't be that bad, right? I will give it a try. If I don't like it, I can always refund it.

I'm having a pretty good time with it. I miss RPGs that give you choice not only in dialogue but also in how you approach situations. It's Starfield x Fallout (Fallfield? Starout?) without the terrible engine.

Visually it's pretty mid but that's not impacting my experience really.

| OT | Fallfield

IMO graphics look really nice, better than i've expected.

Idk, the IQ is great but I found the texture work to be really flat, a lack of particle effects and the colors/contrast in the outdoor areas feels….off. Like they wanted to go for a NMS look with big colors but only half committed to it - half is super colorful but the other half is drab and muted.

Funny, i was going to mention that i love the textures on their suits and clothing but i have played it for an hour or so, so i may be wrong and the textures are really flat as you say.

I mean it's imposible to have the exact same team from almost 20 years ago.

But TOW2 is a game made by guys like Brandon Adler, Matthew Singh, Boyarsky which you already mentioned and even Tim Cain.

You can check what theyve worked on but...New Vegas, Alpha Protocol, original Fallout games...
