Just started Mass Effect trilogy. It has been at least ten years since I played, and that was the original releases. Spent half a day modding up the Legacy Edition.

I have the PS4 version untouched, but I wanted that ME1 lighting mod along with the popular ALOT textures/videos so grabbed on PC.

Sucked in instantly again. Fucking love it.

If you have Fallout 4 on GoG, then GoG simply installs it for you. On Steam you need to follow a guide to downgrade the game to a different patch first. That can be a little time consuming.

I bought Fallout 4 twice. I have it on Steam and GoG. The latter only for London and the former for the original with mods. Just wait for a sale in that case. I think there's Autumn Sale now on GoG.

Went through the first couple of hours in Cronos.

I'm a bit conflicted. The setting and main character are as bland as you could imagine and the plot is needlessly confusing so far but the game has prolly the wildest resource management in recent times. There was basically no instance so far where I felt that I'm not about to run out of ammo. This keeps the tension pretty high at all times.

So yeah, I dunno. A Blooper game through and through.

Not committed to anything rn but I do feel like playing games. A saturn is good for that so I've been hopping around the arcadey stuff just to hit buttons.

I head the original need for speed runs better on saturn than it did on ps1 which I found interesting, so I picked up a cheap one off ebay. Well it seems to be damaged! While I was able to play all three segments of the first track, any other track fails to load which sucks. Doubly because the first track sucks and is mostly a straight line. At least all the car history stuff works! That's fun to go through and I'm surprised how many lines from it I remember from way back when.

Just went through panzer dragoon 2 in one sitting. That normal mode goes by real fast...

Man you are in for a ride. I did the same as you at the start of the year, played the three games one after the next. Had an amazing time.

Glad you already modded it. The fix for lighting (MELLO) is a must, and I'd recommend the Miranda's buttshots restoration as well as the fixes for the Conrad Verner quests. Oh and check out the order of the DLCs and when to play them.

Those games are awesome. Wonder if we'll ever get something like ME again.

Expedition 33, about 4 or 5 hours in. I'm enjoying the characters, story, dialog, and voice acting. The world is beautiful.

I'm not sure whether I'm enjoying the combat or not. I like to feel as if I know what I'm doing, but I'm not there yet. Various aspects of the combat (e.g., pictos and lumina and how they interact and are applied) confuse me. Hopefully it will start to gel eventually. I've only played one turn-based game in my life, and that was Lost Odyssey 20 years ago, so that's part of my befuddlement.

Like a Dragon Ishin! Same as usual, a plot that is convoluted, with the main character's actions probably making more sense for native japanese people understanding their honor/revenge attitude, a very grindy gameplay loop and characters that beat the crap out of each other (with swords and guns) but only die when plot armor is deactivated. One early sidequest with a woman that annoys everyone by talking too much is kinda the game itself. The dialog is always way too long and most of it should be shortened and the systems skipping ahead faster. The games are interesting since not many games even use Japan as the scenery, but god damn I can't fathom why people actually like them. They are average at best imho.

Spent the weekend with Cronos and clocked around 10 hours. Really conflicted about this one. The basic gameplay loop is fun and all but everything else about the game is just so… bland. Definition of a 6/10 or 7/10 game.

Just finished Indiana Jones and The Great Circle - Game Pass (XSX / PC cross play)
Got all the collectibles as I went along - but haven't bought the DLC or went for the platinum/100%.
I've been working on this game since launch off and on - but finally got the traction and finished - including the hidden ending.

I am not good at action games or fps games... but the battles were simple enough for me to enjoy, which I appreciate.
I hadn't bothered with the shooting but mostly stuck with the whip/disarm, and beat up in the close up.

The ending sequence was pretty spot-on Indiana Jones, which was quite good - but at the same time, all Indy does (in pretty much all of his movies) is to collect the artifacts for the villain and see them destroying themselves!
Knowing exactly what would happen, I was anticipating how the villain would die (like melting or turning to dust etc)... and at the same time, it felt little too predictable. However, I am glad this game exists and hope they'll make more in the future.

My sub for the game pass runs out in a few days, which I don't intend to renew - so I think this will be the last game I will play on Game Pass (unless they come up with some really good deal or whatnot).
It was a very enjoyable game, but I nearly fell a sleep during ending credit roll - it went on like 30 min, which the music score actually ran out when it reached around some localization credits.
And kinda awed by how many people were directly and indirectly involved with making this one game... (thousands, I think!) and began to wonder how much would they need to sell to even to make profit to pay these folks, or whether this industry is really sustainable with making this kind of big games. One day - maybe many years later, I do hope to buy the game at deep discount on Steam and revisit with all graphics settings maxed out and give another go with DLC this time around.

Other than that - finishing up the Castlevania Advance collection on Switch2 - Finished COTM and HOD, and working on the AOS, and seeing how the series has progressed over the years once again!

Finished this. It was okay, but had a number of issues. A shame, as the atmosphere was great, but the combat was pretty bad. The city itself also felt pretty bland, and didn't exactly beg to be explored. I got one of the bad endings..!

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
Enjoying the hell out of this so far. It's reminding me that video games can be a lot of fun when done right. Died loads while playing tonight, but that's because I made a bunch of stupid mistakes. I wasn't even bothered!

Also, from time to time, when I want to play something fast, I can play slot games. Some time ago, I found this page https://magyarkaszinooldalak.com/casino/wonaco/ where I read about a casino called Wonaco, I tried it, and since then I've been playing games there. It was something new to me, and there are many games, so there is no need to look for something else.

I tried to play Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion twice, but each time I stopped after some time. Don't know why. And Ghost of Yotei is one of two games I've been playing now. The second one is Absolum, but I like Ghost of Yotei more

Taking a bit of a break from Silksong and back to Alan Wake Remastered, just finished episodes 3 and 4. Finally the game is starting to get good, episodes 2 and 3 were wearing on me, but now I know I'll make it to the end. Going to continue the Halloween gaming vibe into November since I didn't get much of a chance the last couple weekends.

I like yakuza zero a lot. Haven't played the others. But I will say that zero was the very picture of "more than the sum of it's parts". If anything was outstanding, it would be the characters and acting. Everything else one it's own should have been mediocre. Yet none of that stuff felt like they were killing my fun or slowing me down. It all just fit together somehow and I enjoyed it front to back.

I remembered last week that lode runner legend returns had a saturn version. I have this thing for pc ports on saturn and ps1. Console games went to pc, too. It was the first time we really had that cross-pollination. In the later days of that gen, 3d accelerator cards were the interesting thing because games would look and run way better. But early in the gen, it was getting the pc games on consoles that was the interesting part.

PC's were still really expensive and the only thing that distinguished a "gaming pc" was a few more megs of ram and a sound card. Hella expensive. So having a console play doom, xcom, crusader, mechwarrior 2(sorta), Command & Conquer, panzer general, MDK, Wing Commander, and that kind of thing was fucking awesome. My family computer with an add-on cd and soundcard was sweet for a ll of a couple years but then the good games started requiring 8mb of ram and I was out. PS1 came just in time.

So I love the pc ports from that era. Magic Carpet is a brilliant game. Yeah that's right. Get fucked. I have it on saturn and twice on ps1 (oops). I originally played it on that 25mhz 486. It was just a demo. When it came out for PS1 I had a good way to play if for a tenth (yes!) the price of a pc.

So anyway one game I loved on that pc was Lode Runner Legend Returns. That ran just fine. Looked and sounded amazing. Played the shit outta that game. I picked up the playstation version a while back. The graphics are really made to be viewed on a crisp monitor at close range, so they lose a lot. But it still makes for a great game on a console.

But right now I am not playing it. Because it hasn't come from ebay yet. I'm looking forward to playing it. I wonder how far I can get? It's a long and devious game.

Playing through Outer Worlds 2. It's growing on me.

Looking for recommendations for something cheap and simple ($10-$20 range) to play in short bursts on the Steam deck, though. I bought Thronefall, Roboquest and Deeprock Survivor but wouldn't mind a 4th or 5th game similar that I can easily pick up and runs well on the deck. Going on vacation for a few weeks with the family and I tend to wake up earlier than everyone so want a few games to cycle through.
