The Game Awards December 11th

Arsic

Loves his juicy stink trail scent

Lord Geoff has yet to reveal nominees, and with a month left I believe the cut off date is almost upon us.

What's the top 6?

Clair 33
Hades 2
Hollow Knight Silksong
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Death Stranding 2
Donkey Kong Banaza

Me thinks this is the 6. Clair GOTY.

Just because of the politics, I don't think KCD2 has a chance. It is a fringe GOTY contender. I think all the others are pretty much locks

Split Fiction or Ghost of Yotei for final spot

Who are the people who vote anyway?

Who are the people who vote anyway?

You and other media publications.
As of 2024, there are over one hundred media publications around the world that were chosen as juries. Winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%) via social platforms and the show's website.

Good list, one Sony game, one Nintendo game, one obvious winner, one good runner up, and two good indies.

Metroid Prime won't make the cutoff probably.

Ninja Gaiden 4 deserves some sort of Best Action Combat award.

FortNite the obvious ongoing live service game, hell of a year for FortNite.

Killzone 2 remaster.
Bloodborne PS5/PC.
Ico remake by Bluepoint (exclusive art style butchering).
Motorstorm Pacific Rift remaster.
The Last of Us Part I Remake remaster "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series".

That's what I'm betting on.

Your lineup isn't bad, but as if Geoff would leave out a Sony game. Ghost of Yotei will probably take the spot of Hades 2 or Kingdom Come.

Personally hope KCD2 gets more recognitions.

The industry is in fucking dire need of mature writings and characters that KCD2 offers.
Completely agree. Despite a few anachronisms and some misplaced modern touches, the overall result is really solid. It's so rare to see a medieval game that isn't pure high fantasy with Californian-style dialogue.

But Daniel Vávra is still a spineless liar.

Clair Obscur will be the likely GOTY.
But Geoff will find a way to award all the publishers that support him and allow the circus to go on.
Looking forward to the world premieres, hopefully Naughfy Dog or Santa Monica will throw Geoff a bone.

Woke journos will not vote for kcd2, on top we got exp33 already which will get goty with ease(its totally fine, game is pure fire), u are based guy so i know u understand some things arent just very improbable, some are just impossible =D

Stuff like that makes feminist cuckholds burn on the spot like demons sprinkled with holy water :D

Couldn't care less about the awards, but I'm excited for some trailers.
Same. For me, it goes all the way back to the leak of that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance trailer from years back, where there was virtually no point in sitting with then-named VGAs for a few trailers that show up online anyway (one way or another).

As I don't particularly like awards shows, I'm fine with just not engaging with TGA at all.

This is also the only thing I take away from the awards. But somehow, they still managed to make most gamers take this joke event seriously and consider the winners there as Game of the Year, while completely ignoring all the other awards or even giving any importance to such events in the first place. In the end, only your own taste matters, not what some maybe even biased or paid experts or wannabe experts try to feed you.

For me it was Expedition 33. That game just had a great story, characters, voice acting, etc etc...loved it.

I said when Clair Obscur came out it'll get GOTY. I wavered a bit in my confidence when Death Stranding 2 and Donkey Kong Bonanza came out. But as time has passed, I don't think any game will resonate with people like Clair Obscur did, so I remain confident.

For me personally, Clair Obscur and Hollow Knight are my favorite two from this year. I tend to lean Metroidvania as it's become my favorite genre over the years, but I have to admit, Silksong was a little long for my liking. I don't like my Metroidvanias 90+ hours to do everything. That's RPG territory.

Sucks Metroid Prime 4 comes out in December. Even if it's amazing, it will be in 2026's Game Awards, and everyone will have forgotten or moved off of it by then so in terms of Game Awards, MP4 is gonna get a raw deal. But I suspect that will be in my top 3 games of the year if it's as good as I hope. I absolutely love Metroid Prime games.

I think it's honestly because the awards are at the end of the year, it's really the only non-industry awards event with a budget, and the trailers get actual eye-balls. There isn't anything better, and people want an excuse to argue about their favorite stuff of the year.

Clair 33, Hades 2 and Donkey Kong will leave no crumbs. DS2/Yotei will pick up some strange award too like Audio design or something.

Best games I've played this year were KCD2, Silksong and Fantasy Life i. Hope they get some recognition.

In any case, all I want out of this is some cool videogame reveals.
