Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
yep thats also utter dog shit![]()
Agree on that.
At least the last two have been pretty decent films and this one is doing well at the box office.

And by Shane Black no less, such an utter travesty in all fronts compared to most of his other scripts.Yeah man, the last non Disney Predator was such a banger afterall.

They are trying to humanize them more, down to human parenting and emotional issues.still cant get over the face of the new predator
i mean when a bust you can buy for £1500, looks 10000x better than the £80m film, youve got major issues.

Prey's choreography was atrocious. I've seen better sells with WWE.what??? Prey was great
It makes far more sense to me that the Yautja would take after the Green Martians of Barsoom from Burrough's "John Carter of Mars" series in that they come from an egg, all the hatchlings have to fight to survive just to get out of the incubator, and they are raised as anonymous children in a group setting with little to no affection or sense of familial attachment. The film, fun as it was, shows a bit of this. Their model would map almost directly on to the Yautja as seen in the films up till this one, even if the comics may have done stuff a bit differently. They are trying to humanize them more, down to human parenting and emotional issues.
I feel like people in here who have seen it are generally pretty positive about it.So glad I ignored this topic before seeing the movie.
It was awesome. Not even a predator guy. Saw it with a group of kids, middle aged people, parents teens. Everyone liked it.
Its gonna do well. Darn good action movie.
And they're generally not even a predator guy.I feel like people in here who have seen it are generally pretty positive about it.
in the face of "Running Man" which seems like it will hit virtually the same audience
No predator film has a really big audience, so it's easy to front load it and then it's done. Hopefully the good word of mouth gives it some legs in the face of "Running Man" which seems like it will hit virtually the same audience (aka fans of Schwarzenegger filmsI feel like people in here who have seen it are generally pretty positive about it.
Have you seen it?And they're generally not even a predator guy.

Now do the native girl's fight scene against the trappers.

I know, standards and all. The franchise contributed to a shrinking base. But don't think for a second these movies are not being made for the nostalgia cash-in of that current age demographic as well. It's why a lot of 80s stuff are making a comeback, etc.. This doesn't exist in a vacuum.Ive watched the original predator. I enjoyed that one too. More so for its special effects and great action than its plot, but I enjoyed it.
No one was a predator guy when that film won them over back in the day. Maybe that's the effect studios should go for rather than banking on pleasing an aging shrinking crowd of die hards who routinely are hard to please.
That actress was 100% the problem with Prey. A more physical, athletic actress would have sold it much better. Now do the native girl's fight scene against the trappers.
I liked the premise, the CGI and choreography was ass.
Predator is in my top 10 films ever and naw, Badlands is pretty fun. I think some of you are overthinking it lol. Its just a competently made adventure film, nothing more nothing less. Compared to the middling Alien or, God forbid, Terminator franchises right now the Predator series is actually doing ok.And they're generally not even a predator guy.

I plan to. Just making cheeky jokes.Have you seen it?
I'll keep that in mind.Predator is in my top 10 films ever and naw, Badlands is pretty fun. I think some of you are overthinking it lol. It's a pretty good fight scene, just put in some guns and it'd be like a slower John Wick fight. Plus she does it to save a doggo.

yo-yo tomahwaks alone disqualifies this for ANY kind of top honor as a fight scene. It's not, we've debated this to death in the other thread on this when it came out. Many times.
It's very unconvincing, hard to suspend reality even in a fantasy/sci-fi film with all the weightless errors. It's up there with The Acolyte saber duels.
I liked everything else minus the bear CGI. The "American Dingo" (Carolina dog) was an great touch for authenticity.
Well that's the thing. People don't wait til they see a movie to actually form opinion on it anymore. We go by vibes and reception from an in group we "trust" sometimes, then repeat those takes elsewhere.
Hence why I'm glad I didnt see the doomsaying here from the trailers. It would've made me trepedaicious when I had no reason to be. I went in with almost zero expectations. I didn't know the plot, the premise, or anything. I'd only seen the initial trailer.
I've been using this approach with most movies lately, and it's great. Going in knowing almost nothing makes it much easier to not be colored by expectations the film isn't necessarily obligated to fulfill.
I had seen prey but I didn't even realize this was the same director. None of the other people with me saw prey. Tbis is the first predator film they've watched in years
It's a pretty good fight scene, just put in some guns and it'd be like a slower John Wick fight. Plus she does it to save a doggo.

The Kojima review is in
A comparison within the same FRANCHISE is nothing like comparing movies within the same GENRE!All you people dumping on this aren't Predator Fans, how can you call yourself a Predator fan and not like the last 3 flicks put out by Dan Trachtenberg, the guy single-handedly brought the Predator back into the mainstream with 3 fucking excellent flicks, stop comparing it to the first one ffs.. what do we now compare every action movie to Diehard every scifi movie to Aliens etc, those where all damn near perfect movies at a perfect point in time, aint nobody touching those, be happy were getting these iconic creatures back in the cinema with a half decent budget and decent enough stories, they aint fucking Dune
