Publishers and manufacturers trying to protect the west from Japanese games and art. Fucking tired of the censorship shit. Like what the hell is the deal with games getting denied release on Switch lately. It's such a crock of shit. It's double standard bull shit, especially when Sony has done it, and then they have games with from western studios with actual nudity and sex in them.

Less Games as a Service, less micro-transactions, bring back unlocking stuff through gameplay, less influence from "influencers".....as a matter of fact most of the social media shit can go away while we are at it.

Less mobile game focus, meaning games like "I am a fish" or bullshit like that.

But like the other person mentioned, I could probably play my backlog and be just fine. Both MS and Sony have pretty much lost me at this point, and I never was a full on Nintendo guy...so eh.

Fun games!

Interesting worlds to explore.

Great atmosphere.

An incredible soundtrack I can listen to for the rest of my life.

All in all, games I am glad I used valuable time on, and can look back on with fond memories.

I mean, what exactly do you wish from gaming industry to be happy?
I've already been pretty happy with video games. I think what would make me happier is if we can somehow get people to just focus on fun games again.

Too many people are constantly chasing bad news headlines, culture war issues, or searching for other things to upset them. It's like old school tabloids but amplified.

There were a lot of good games this year, especially from unknowns and new franchises from ex-AAA devs, yet a large percentage of people online still focus solely on the big AAA company drama of the month or they constantly wait on old franchises to return as they ignore everything else.

Of course I don't think all of it will stop until people stop rewarding it all with clicks, views, and comments.

A Pokemon game with the polish and fidelity of a Xenoblade game enhanced for Switch 2.

A new Warcraft game with similar custom maps and community driven content as WC3.

A new Battlefield game that doesn't push the storefront aspect and is affordable.

A Final Fantasy Warriors game (musou).

Elden Ring 2 with seamless coop and expanded/improved combat.

Sekiro 2 with seamless coop.

Pokemon 2DHD remakes.

More PS3 graphics games that are "next gen" in terms of gameplay. Think Earth Defense Forms graphics wise, but with a Nemesis system or fully destructible environments or intelligent NPC behavior and deeper gameplay systems.

A new Fallout New Vegas type game that is good.

A new Bioshock game that is good.

A comeback of immersive sims.

A Diablo game that is good and gruesome.

Half-life 3

Left 4 Dead 3

Destiny x Halo reboot

Armored Core with capes and vampires and Nightreign gameplay.

...

You know, something like this.

I am very happy, and great single player games is why.

I'd be even happier if more companies takes more risks and don't try to chase the "new trend", but to be honest there's a bunch of studios doing just that, and the amount of exciting games coming out every year is more than I have time to play, so it's pretty, pretty good.
It's pretty much been great since the early 90's.

For more crpgs to get a budget like BG3 and be finacially succesful. Would want Owlcat to make a AAA Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar CRPG, Obsidian to make a AAA POE3, and InXile to make a AAA Shadowrun CRPG since Microsoft has the videogame rights.

- Less cinematic/bloated dialogue/cutscenes in games that aren't traditionally story-focused genres
- Shorter games with faster development cycles
- More AA instead of AAA
- Less superhero games

GAAS dying
Mature writing
Non-generic art when everything is either dystopian sci-fi or Tolkien fantasy
Innovative gameplay systems instead of chasing better pixels

A new Thief: Dark Project game, not like the shit we got a few years back
