Shift Up did not say anything about Stellar Blade in "multiple consoles". Machine translation is just bad at translating Korean.

Machine translation like google translate has been used on this hiring ad. Particularly this paragraph.
현재 시프트업이 개발 중인 '스텔라 블레이드' 차기작은 자사의 글로벌 흥행작 '스텔라 블레이드'의 세계관을 확장한 AAA급 멀티플랫폼 액션 게임이다. 콘솔과 PC 등 다양한 플랫폼 출시를 목표로 하며, 전작의 스타일리시한 액션과 내러티브 중심의 독창적인 IP 세계관을계승해 한층 진화한 액션 플레이를 선보일 예정이다.

Shift Up's next installment in the "Stella Blade" franchise, currently under development, is a AAA multiplatform action game that expands upon the worldview of the company's global hit, "Stella Blade." Aiming for release on various platforms, including consoles and PC, the game will inherit the original IP's stylish action and narrative-driven worldview from its predecessor, delivering an evolved action experience.
People think it says "consoles" in Google translate so it must mean Stellar Blade and Stellar Blade 2 won't be console exclusive.
So I decided to ask some experts, particularly groups who translate Korean, Japanese and Chinese web novels to English.

And indeed I looked it up and in Wikitionary it says.
Korean does not grammatically distinguish between singular and plural nouns.
Infact Google Translate translates "콘솔" to console.

The news was about whether it would launch on the PS5 and PC at the same time. I don't think anyone was thinking about multiple consoles like the Series X or maybe Switch 2.

PS5 is going to start getting console exclusives or at least timed console exclusives without even trying or paying for it.
If you don't get a GamePass bag, it's pointless to do an Xbox version.
Switch 2 is always questionable, with a lot of the 3rd party games probably coming later.

Yes, they said "console and PC" or "consoles and PC".

Perfectly compatible with repeating PS console exclusivity and also publishing with Sony. They never said anything related to release it in non-Sony consoles.

Nah there were definitely some people reading it as multiple consoles.
They can use "consoles" meaning "PS5 consoles", "PS5 & PS6 consoles", "PS5, PS6, PSP2 consoles" or "Sony consoles".

Imagine caring about where a game releases when you already know it's coming to your platform of choice.

When you say timed exclusives do you mean just console and not PC?

I asked some experts, and they said...

"maybe"
I did giggle a bit at the definitive shoulder shrug.

Anyways, not sure if Shift Up is ready to ditch Sony's backing just to get on whatever Xbox is putting out and Switch 2. It does very much help Sony fill in some gap in their exclusives line up. So far it benefits them both as a partnership.

Thank god, I almost thought someone being able to play the game, on a platform I don't like was gonna be possible. What a relief.

By the time it comes out, developing for Xbox consoles = developing for the PC. Only question will be whether it would come to a Nintendo console.

I got in touch with my sources.

Exactly. Please let this desperate coping stop.

Shift Up will not be able to resist Xbox's Velocity Architecture(tm) and raw power.
The consoles have already been out for 5 years and you are still using Xbox marketing terms like "Velocity Architecture". The PS5 has way better SSD tech. PS5 SSD is 5.5 GB/s while Xbox SSD is 2.4 GB/s, more than double the advantage.

As of today, I think it's more profitable to make a Stellar Blade 2 for WiiU than for SeriesX... I doubt they'll change the PSX exclusivity strategy of the first one.

It will still be a ps5 time exclusive or possibly a launch game for ps6, exclusive or time exclusive then pc.

Imagine being so big a fanboy that you become a more detailed investigater compared to a professional one that gets paid.

Why the f is any of this important lol

Who the hell cares anyway? Unless the developer chooses PS5 only, why would Sony even bother with these kind of deals when they no longer have direct competition? Don't even mention switch 2 or the steam console or ill just laugh. Xbox was the only true competitor to the PlayStation.

I totally forgot Bayonetta 2 was announced as a multiplatform game before being moneyhatted.

Thanks for proving my point. Yall get weird.
Sure, but that was before Sega, you know, literally cancelled the project.
You guys always see these things through your console exclusivity glasses that forget that these platform holders are still just publishers and that these are very standard practices within the publishing business (i.e. picking up a game that was already in development for you to publish).
Moneyhatted third-party exclusives (something that can only be the case in the context of a platform holder) are just deals made between the partners relations groups of each company involved, while deals like Bayonetta 2 and Stellar Blade (situations that are very common in the video game publishing industry) involve these publishers (Nintendo and SIE) directly funding and managing the project, while also handling all related sales and marketing operations.

Why wouldn't they? They make money by publishing the game.

They need to clarify this.
How am I to decide if it's one of the greatest action games ever or an overrated piece of crap if I don't know if it will remain console exclusive?

Doubt it. Why would they give up more than half their sales at launch?

Those deals are gonna be harder to make as time goes on. Nioh 3 is day 1 on Steam for example.

It was a moneyhatted exclusive as much as Bayonetta 2 was for the Wii U (i.e. not really).

Find me the Bayonetta 2 project picture with other platforms listed that later got un-announced.
