Hell no, the first one was overrated and so repetitive and boring. They should do what they do well (ish) which is Medieval III part 1: Europe, part 2: Middle East 3: the new world and so on, and then smack the maps together.

Empire came out a gazillion years ago and grand strategy games are way more popular than they were back then. They should try again.

Way too large in scope, there's no way they could pull it off. Napoleon-type of campaign maybe but then you're back to the fact that this era just doesn't play very well as a total war game.

I'm sure complex real time tactics battles will be a priority with console versions coming out.

It was a more polished game but battles turned into the same boring slog halfway through if you played as a gunpowder faction.
With Medieval you get it all: every melee weapon you can imagine, archery, siege weapons, early gunpowder. Stop trying to force the franchise into these boring line infantry battles lol

So far they've announced "Lords of the End Times" DLC for Warhammer III centered around Nagash; their "new" Warcore engine; and Medieval III is in early pre-production.

Yeah, I expected it to be a lot further along. I'm hyped for Med 3, but it's years away.
Looks like whatever they're announcing at the game awards is next, and that will ne 40K or Star Wars.
They kinda gave it away when talking about the new engine mentioning how it can handle vehicles.

Even back in the day they couldn't make a real main line Total War in under 4 or 5 years. Now development time for everyone is longer. For 2027 you would get something worse than Pharaoh.

Total War is coming to PlayStation and Xbox, but no announcement of any particular game.
No Med 2 remaster for the 20th anniversary? Really?!
Tune into the Game Awards to see another announcement. Why not just tease it now!
They said they would not be watering down the gameplay for consoles. It will be the full Total War experience.
Of course they said that. I hope it's true but I'm not sure I believe them right now. We'll see i guess.

I see no reason why they would water it down.
The TW games on mobile are full blown ports of Rome, Med 2 and Empire. The only difference is the touch controls. I assume they would have the same approach for consoles.
