Total War - 25th Anniversary Showcase - 04th December

Iirc there were a few leaks, nothing confirmed so far but they talked about a historical game set in WW1 which was supposedly facing hardships due to CA having to create a "new engine" for it. Then they also talked about a game set in the Star Wars universe and another one in the WH40K universe.
The Star Wars one has been mentioned by more than one leaker so that one seems like the most likely so far but we'll see.

Thanks for the info, bro. Interesting to see where things might be heading.

As long as they keep the Three kingdoms diplomacy system but expand it further + good battles/AI... I'll be fine and hyped with any historical game ngl (especially Roman themed ones)

Medieval 3
Season 3 Smiling GIF by The Simpsons

Hell no, the first one was overrated and so repetitive and boring. They should do what they do well (ish) which is Medieval III part 1: Europe, part 2: Middle East 3: the new world and so on, and then smack the maps together.
Empire came out a gazillion years ago and grand strategy games are way more popular than they were back then. They should try again.

Was expecting a hype showcase, instead I'm half asleep listening to 4 dudes talk about fantasy Warhammer, move on already

Tired Tom And Jerry GIF

Way too large in scope, there's no way they could pull it off. Napoleon-type of campaign maybe but then you're back to the fact that this era just doesn't play very well as a total war game.

"Blood and gore is a key part of total war"

says the company who offers paid dlc for it.

also, total war on console? lmao

Shogun 2 FOTS would disagree with you. Its gameplay was excellent.
It was a more polished game but battles turned into the same boring slog halfway through if you played as a gunpowder faction.

With Medieval you get it all: every melee weapon you can imagine, archery, siege weapons, early gunpowder. Stop trying to force the franchise into these boring line infantry battles lol

"It's in early pre-production"
Lmao, they are taking the piss, it'll come out in 2030 or something :messenger_tears_of_joy:
The last historical game came out in 2019...
Oh well, I'll forget about it for the next couple years I guess.

Todd-type announcement for a game coming out in 2050. All the discussion is about stuff for Paradox map sickos, no talk about tactics, or mod support. Yawn.

Yeah, I expected it to be a lot further along. I'm hyped for Med 3, but it's years away.

Looks like whatever they're announcing at the game awards is next, and that will ne 40K or Star Wars.

They kinda gave it away when talking about the new engine mentioning how it can handle vehicles.

Medieval 3 being in early pre-production is a major letdown.
The console announcement is also concerning. If they simplify the gameplay it's going to be a major loss.

Well that was underwhelming...

Very.

Med 3 is great, but years away.

Total War is coming to PlayStation and Xbox, but no announcement of any particular game.

No Med 2 remaster for the 20th anniversary? Really?!

Tune into the Game Awards to see another announcement. Why not just tease it now!

They said they would not be watering down the gameplay for consoles. It will be the full Total War experience.

Of course they said that. I hope it's true but I'm not sure I believe them right now. We'll see i guess.

I see no reason why they would water it down.

The TW games on mobile are full blown ports of Rome, Med 2 and Empire. The only difference is the touch controls. I assume they would have the same approach for consoles.
