Diablo IV |OT| Blessed Mother... Save Us

What's with these swords that follow you and drop for absurd damage, and the exploding fire stuff on the ground? For now that's what's been killing me, not the monsters lol

I think that's a side effect of the seasonal shit you equipped. One of them has that unless you use the purified slot.

2nd class I hope its amazon since the new region is skovos isles, home of the amazons. D2 amazons, remember?
Hell yeah, multi arrow spam all over the screen with some mana leech. I'm down for it.
Having fun with the paladin, I didn't even missed it that much but damn it would be nice to have it back and well.. the good old line up from D2 eventually. Most of my favorites are here now: necro, sorc, now paladin so yeah amazon would be definitely nice. Game definitely feels different too after the reworks.

Apparently, if you use the seasonal power that spawns meteors, they not only hit you but also other players, and if they kill other players the game credits you with the kill.

lolz

Not a fan of these season journies. Not one dev has managed these properly.

Halo started, followed by BF6 and now D4. At least make them interesting, these pangs of duriel are shit.

Managed to get my Pally (Hammerkuna) to 56 in 7hrs last night.

Having to monitor resource and cycling rally can get old but after pissing around with tempering and increasing Arbiter's duration to 88 seconds while I got the CD to 46 seconds could pay off… and that wasn't really trying, obviously.

Fun class so far. Maybe once I get into the endgame, this build could shine?

It seems that changing builds has become a bit more difficult due to prices and materials? Tried to change aspects for a different build and couldn't complete due to lack of materials. Weird.

Paladin encouraged me to play this. Loving the class. Level 21 so far. Game is fun.

I chose "eternal" game because I didn't know what the seasonal stuff was. Can someone explain what the point of doing the season option is?

Eternal realm is the base game with a few updates merged down. It's defunct for most people.

A season is basically the game with additional powers to the base game that lasts 3 months. It's where most people go.

You build your character within the season limit until you've had enough, then return for the next season when it releases.

If I was you I'd just start the campaign with a seasonal character.

Some people do play on eternal, but the community Is smaller.

I reinstalled the game after not playing for about a year wanting to jump back on my lvl 39 necromancer.

Upon logging in I see 2 new quests, one about getting my mount and the other about a "Welcome back" gift.

I was expecting maybe a couple of rare yellow items but instead my character jumped immediately to lvl 50 and my skills were all respect'd according to a previous choice I made, not knowing the consequence.

Now I'm a casual player on Eternal and it's my fault for not googling this first but it's a bit frustrating skipping stuff I would have discovered on my own like the Lilith altars.

That premade build is actually pretty good so I'll try that out for a bit and see 😋

I just wasn't expecting this surprise.

The paladin is really nice, and S11 has been more fun than I expected!

I leveled by just picking random pally skills and trying them out along the way, it was a lot of fun. Took me like 10 hours to hit 60 but I "stopped to smell the roses" a lot along the way. Settled into a blessed shield build for 40-60 and that was a blast. Once I hit T1 I built my skills and gear around using Falling Star to constantly proc Arbiter, and now I'm pretty much a constant Holy Avenger in Arbiter form, using the wing strikes to deal damage. It works great, I tempered half my gear with "+wing blast damage" and the other half with "+arbiter duration" and it works like a charm. I can now do Pit 80 pretty comfortably, he destroys everything in T4 and can easily handle all the lair bosses now.

Finished the season journey main goals but I still have a few of the sub goals to finish. I like how the season journey is now set up with the Capstone dungeons and Pit as gateways, you can progress to the next level even while skipping most of the goals per rank, to me it seems better than the previous system. In fact pretty much all of the changes have been good. The new toughness / resist system is much better now that I've wrapped my head around it.

The S11 "powers" are pretty mundane but Sanctification has been better than than I expected it to be. I've been having a ton of fun with S11.

Overall I'd say the changes to the core mechanics make a better foundation for the expansion in April. The Paladin skills are done much better than the other classes, gives me optimism for the skill tree overhauls coming for all classes with the expansion.

Sorry if its already been said but how do you get access to the Paladin right now?

I dunno I havn't played the new season yet. I reinstalled it but am totally unmotivated to make a character.
Yeah, i finished the campaign back at release but never got really sucked into the game. The item rework i'm talking about was to happen at the release of the paladin in April 2026 but i'm not sure again.
AI (i know AI) says this about the rework:

"Beyond items, the Skill Trees are also being reworked to include class-specific variants and a higher level cap (raising the cap to 70 and beyond through new progression). These changes are intended to make the game feel fundamentally different by the time the full expansion arrives in April."

Nice, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I got gifted an expansion pack, so once I start playing season 11 again, I'll test it out.

It's coming, and people who saw an early preview said it's promising, but I'll wait to see what they have cooking. I hope it adds a little more depth and strategy. I get more of that kind of experience from Path of Exile 2 at the moment. It's too bad the seasons for both games released on the same day. I'm basically going to pretend that the Diablo 4 season 11 release date isn't until next month so I can play PoE2 first lol.

I may try D4 out when it gets like you said what they have been cooking so far.

I've only hit Paragon 56 on my Paladin and with the new class, the little tweaks/QoL in gameplay and added mechanics, I'm really enjoying S11 more so than prior seasons.

I'm probably in the extreme minority, but Dry Steppes and Kehjistan desperately need an f'ing dark mode during the day time. That shit bleeds my eyes.

I agree, its actually hard to see experience orbs on the ground in those places due to how bright it is! 😂

You get access to the Paladin if you pre-order the Lord of Hatred expansion now. I've been playing Diablo since the original and I know I'd buy the expansion on day one anyway, so I figured eh might as well buy it now and enjoy the Paladin. That way I can play the second new class on Lord of Hatred launch day in April. 😎

Glad I did too. I was considering skipping S11 as it just didn't sound interesting to me, but man the Pally plus S11 and this just might honestly be my favorite of all the D4 seasons so far. I'm surprised to admit that.

Installing it right now. Let's see if it is fun.
Question, what are the activities when i finished the campaign. What's the gameplay loop?

A endgame you run helltides, the pit, undercity and nightmare dungeons. You accumulate boss summoning mats. Fight the bosses for unique items that enable a particular kind of build style.

Eventually upgrade to greater affix gear and then do it again on higher and higher torment levels.

OMG I just got the most insane rolls on my Paladin gear with Sanctification! Got too excited and forgot to socket the ring and shield but whatever, they are still huge upgrades lol. Best. Season. Ever!
