Switching to Bazzite from Windows 11

You might not necessarily want to use the terminal, but you should check out those you ujust commands the have bazite. It's a perfect introduction to the terminal. Essentially it's a task runner that has custom commands that do more complex stuff you might want to set up. I didn't look at that stuff for over a year but I wish I did. It's really cool. I'm fine with the terminal, otherwise but I just never needed to open it with bazite.
I have to admit the terminal looks very cool.. I feel like I'm hacking the matrix just by opening it - and the 'ujust' commands seem like a clever way to simplify things. I was just making the point that Bazzite is easy to use.

If Bazzite could run Battlefield 6 then I would switch in a heartbeat but it can't so I'm stuck on Windows for now.

Dual booting is too much of a hassle as well.

Edit: Just to clarify. I move my PC back and forth between my desk and my TV and therefore I auto login + boot into BPM. I really don't want to have to either choose what to boot into every single time I turn my PC on or reboot my device and manually choose in order to play Battlefield or vice versa.

I agree with not dual-booting (I already made that mistake 😅). I want either the new Steam Machine or a small PC I can slap Bazzite on for my Linux fix for now on. Maybe even try to get local streaming set up so I don't have to lug the Windows machine downstairs!

I was a little skeptical of the immutable model at first, but after being more familiar with it, I love it.

Do you have an android or other TV sticks on your TV? Something might have Moonlight available which would let you play on your TV from your desk without all the moving.

Though I do the reverse and have the PC behind the TV, and a mini PC for normal usage and indie games. If I want to play something heavy at my desk I can stream it.

Yes I think linux > windows for gaming. Reply with something sensible, though. Or at least try. It doesn't even need to be respectful. Just try a "cool story bro" or something. That would be a step up.

Rodrigo:
Show us the majority of games working and/or working better and with less tinkering on Linux vs Windows then.

There's a difference between arguing and fighting.
Bro just wants to throw hands all night

If you actually try to answer him he moves the goalposts or names one game that you can't run because of kernel anticheat

I use both so who is hating what again???

Still you bubs

I'm still very interested in the Steam Machine but it's all price dependent.

It's not actually a big deal to move it really. My desk is in the living room (2 bedroom house but my girlfriend works from home so uses 1 bedroom for WFH) on the same wall as the couch so it's just moving it across the room and my pc is in a ITX case (Fractal Terra) so it's tiny as well.
