The Witcher 3 Is Reportedly Set To Receive New DLC

I think the dlc is set to introduce: (1) how Geralt retire (2) give a prologue of Witcher 4 so that we have Ciri as main protagonist more naturally.

This is my guess. Geralt is a limp dick now. Let the strong woman take over. Or maybe it is the closest thing we will ever get to playing another witcher game with Garalt.

I might as well just start over on the third game since that is the best realized one.

Play all of them, they are all great, and IMO Witcher 1 is the best Witcher game.

Actually started Witcher 2 again with the qol mods and geralt and triss looking like their witcher 3 version. How far we have come cdpr.

I still haven't played The Witcher 3 to this day. I have an "disease" of starting franchises from the very first game or the oldest ones I can play(I can't with NES RPGs), and tried The Witcher 1. When I reached the combat I was just thinking "I can't believe someone made this as the combat for the game, I can't see myself doing 30 hours of this". Good thing they announced the remake. I will try 2 this year and 3 right after.

I am going to have to refresh my memory where I am at in Witcher 1. I somehow lost my latest save.

I always find it funny that they did away with the sex cards.

Geralt already retired at the end of B&W, there's really nothing left for his story. I think Ciri is the player character for this DLC, we can probably visit Geralt in his vineyard.

If she plays like she did in TW3 main game when we played as her I will skip it, she wasn't any fun to use.

I finished 1 and 2 but never 3. Played about 25 hours of W3 though. The combat keeps putting me off. I got through the first two games though which didn't have good combat either so I can only assume it's the type of standards set by other games I've played since W2.

So not a chance it's a free DLC if it's a meaty expansion with new area, anyhow will get it for sure and will be an excellent reason to have a third playthrough.

Apparently over 100 people are working on this, so yeah, if this is true it will most likely be closer in scope to past Witcher 3 expansions

I'll give it a go after this DLC comes out. I think they have updated this game a number of times since I played it at launch. Will feel new again to me.

Each of the 3 Witchers is good in a way. I also loved 1 the best from a game perspective. There's just something fun and gamey about it and the swampy atmosphere is really memorable. Witcher 3 has a lot of great things including spectacle going for it, but Blood and Wine trumps them all.

This is the game that destroyed Bethesda and setting the new standard for open world WRPG.
Honestly, I gave up on it before, but last year I started completing back logged games and really appreciating full stories/world exploration/side quests in games. I was a bit too ADD before with gaming. I'm gonna go download it again and give it another shot.

People talk a lot about Witcher 3 but NOTHING will top that first battle sequence of Witcher 2 for me. Just coming out of that tent after playing through the aged Witcher 1 was wow.

Also, Are they trying to coincide with the final season of the Netflix show (supposed to come out in a couple months) or is the show just not as popular anymore?

I hope they take this opportunity to update every bit of render tech to not only match Cyberpunk but supercede it. I want:
• Path tracing
• Ray Reconstruction
• RTX Mega Geometry
• Neural radiance cache
• RTDI
The works. The game already looks phenomenal with just the ghetto probed ray tracing they added with a basic denoiser. Now full send it and turn it into the beautiful pinnacle it was meant to be.

Will probably be standalone at this point. So standalone expansion for like $40. If you can play as Geralt, it will be your last chance. He will come out as gay, or you will have the choice to make him gay. Step aside Henry.

Neither character was fun to do combat with because combat was wasn't great in the game

It's been 10 years, I think it's likely safe to assume we will see changes here
I found the combat never got old for me in the 5 playthroughs I've had.

Ciri is so overpowered that I don't think it can ever be balanced or interesting. Yet she is the protagonist of W4 and somehow has Witcher abilities, so they are going to break the lore to make her the MPC.

This is the big concern I have with the game and has been since the reveal trailer. I can't help but think if Ciri was a boy they wouldn't have even considered it.

She is only as powerful as the writers of the game want her to be, this was true for the books as well.

Ciri is a fragile speedster, one good hit and she's down.
In that sense Witcher mutations would be big benefit to her, to build up some resilience.
I'm also pretty sure she actually can't spam teleportation like she does in the gameplay sections of W3. Like sorceresses, her power reserves are not limitless.

I don't think they will do that cause the expansion has to be built with red engine and they've moved on to UE5. Not worth a lot of investment in that department.
