Boys, so I just got my C5 today. Sheit man, using a 42inch TV as monitor is surreal. Just play a bit of Halo (my old 970 can't handle new games on this rez) and holy shit... that's a close as you can get when it comes to "in the game feeling". I tried to make a decent picture but somehow it's impossible to illustrate the size with a photo. It blows me away.

So glad I didn't opt for the 32inch monitor. Thank you guys!

I would assume that the store guy went through all modes and tweaked the settings, it takes less than one hour. Factory reset will remove calibration.

Once you use it for a couple hundred hours you can get it professionally calibrated with a colorimeter (OLEDs take some time to stabilize colours and brightness). But unless you're using it for professional work or you're all about 4K discs, it's not worth it. Just calibrate it again, if you feel like it, using a guide like the one from Resetera above or rtings.

So what is the word if it's between the LG G5 and the Samsung S95F at 65"? Both still seem reasonably priced.

I'd be upgrading from a LG CX 55".

Quantum TV is a known entity in tech enthusiast circles. He is an unmitigated piece of shit, known for intentionally fucking around with settings to push whatever narrative he wants. According to him, the Sony 950H, an LED TV back in 2020, had better picture quality than the LG CX. He was gaming in filmmaker mode (lmao) in SDR with brightness at 25 on the OLED, then bitched about how dim it was compared to the LED. He also publishes nonsensical settings that no picture quality enthusiast worth a damn would publish. Dude also got arrested due to domestic abuse of his wife.

But when it comes to Bravia 8 II he is not the only one with critique of this TV. CalebRated did the whole video defending this TV (blaming the reviewers) and he looked like he way paid by Sony to do this.

For gaming I don't think Sony tvs are the best picks.

You're not wrong, I noticed one of Caleb's recent videos mentioning that "Hisense is the brand to beat" or whatever in the thumbnail, and that is just absolute nonsense. I think he's being paid.
