Air Strikes in Caracas

I can't speak to the legitimacy of this move as I know fuck all about Venezuela but this will be viewed as widely unpopular by the general public and will detract from Trump's support.
Doubt it.

If we were looking at another Eagle Claw or Black Hawk Down then sure, but surgical and stunningly successful military actions with no US casualties are not exactly difficult to swallow for the American public.

Let's be real: if "liberation" was the true intention here, Trump would do the same with North Korea.
It's not possible to do this op in North Korea. Highest density of SAM sites in the world, thousands of missiles and artillery pointed directly at Seoul for automatic retaliation.

Let's see if we end up creating a power vacuum that leads to a more destabilized LATAM and worse conditions for the people that exacerbates mass migration to probably the country that displayed the "excellent efficiency" this morning.

Chances are usually pretty good!
I mean sure it could get worse but let's not pretend it's not f tier already. I've back packed throughout south America, lived a little in Bolivia, and seen the people and impact of these things. I feel for the people and my friends who have suffered because of this. This isn't just another operation Condor(hopefully).

I do hope some good can come of this.

Right. Or Russia or any number of other countries we are on good terms with. Trump has made it clear this is about resources anyway.

100%. Attempt this in NK, and millions are dead in SK within minutes.

They are the best of the best. Those folks don't kid around.
We've all watched Black Hawk Down and know that even the best of the best can end up in a dire situation even against just everyday militia.
I am sure details will come out eventually about how they were able to pull this off so smoothly - cyber warfare, cooperation from inside the Venezuelan military etc.

Is the cartel president of Mexico a little extra cautious after this?

She's safe because Mexico doesn't have too much oil and even if it did, she'd sell out her country's resources to American corporate leeches. It's the only real reason Maduro was kidnapped

Lmao. This is some straight up South Park shit. We have kidnapped the leader of a sovereign country. Everyone rejoice!!

This isn't some covert coup engineered by the cia either. This is our president posting on a social media platform.

Madness!

He was a commie shitbag dictator and the Cartel de la Soles narco leader.

He was not legitimate nor duly elected. Mexico looks nice right about now with their cartel puppet who's been killing her political opposition, up to 16 now I think(?)

Woo baby, looks like we got an American Special Military Operation on our hands. I'm sure this will end well.

You do realise the orange monkey is in the pockets of Putin? When Putin calls Trump asks how high does he want him to jump and the success of this operation is purely down to the competence and intelligence of the Armed forces not the shit show of incompetence you call a government, when I order a new Kitchen, it's not me that designs and fits it, I just placed the fucking order...
You're restarted. 2016 called, they want their fake talking point back.

I'm in favor of doing it to Cuba too. Except I'd make Cuba a US territory and be done with it.

Whether you agree with this or not, everyone has to respect the United States military, the skill, planning, prescision of co-ordinating and carrying out this op is mind blowing.

And zero causalities. Not sure I agree with the operation, but I'm shocked they had weeks to prepare for the US military and the president was taunting them "come at me bro" and they still did it anyway with extreme efficiency.

Because nothing leaked by the senate or the congressmen.

I've got no love for either party in this case. Hopefully the civilian casualties are kept to a minimum but this will obviously lead to a power vacuum

I remember the family Christmas event in 1989 where the topic of discussion among the adults was the type of music being blasted on Noriega's compound. We have come a long way since then and the fact that no American lives were lost in the operation is commendable. I'm sure we will have a full breakdown of this raid coming in the future just like previous raids. They had to get this one right especially after the Bin Laden raid where a top secret helicopter was lost and the pieces were collected and shipped off to god knows where.

My renters are Venezuelan and I would like to hear what they have to say. They are legit refugees. I hope their parents still in country are good. Maybe this is why I didn't hear from them yesterday when I asked about rent.

Power vacuum in Venezuela now that must be filled. Maybe install the guy that won that last election. Maybe take some oil.
I have close friends that are hardcore leftists/activists through and through and escaped under Chavez and talk so badly about the communism they experienced (which they never drew the connection to all their similar activism, ironically)… needless to say, I saw them cheering and celebrating on their social media.

So I guess even the orange man bad gave them a win they were able to admit to.

Seems Trump did what JFK didn't have the balls to do. My take is there is one less dictator in the world today and that's a good thing.

Maduro sent hitmen to my country and killed a dissident, then tried to spin it as a false flag operation. Don't waste your time defending that shitbag.
