Netflix's live-action "Scooby Doo" series is reportedly slated to begin production in April in Atlanta, Georgia, reports What's On Netflix.
The series is aiming for a "Stranger Things" tone ans is reportedly looking to shoot through to late Q2 2026, according to one source. The streamer is unlikely to premiere the series until sometime in 2027.
The series was created by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg ("From," "Citadel") along with executive producer Greg Berlanti. The former two will serve as showrunners on the show, which is aiming to cast actual teenagers for the main roles.
The 'modern reimagining' is set during a final summer at camp. Old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.
Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.
