By the way, did you hear Destiny Child is getting remade as an idle game?

Yes, but I'm very disappointed Shift Up don't believe in their own child. The mistakes they made with the game had nothing to do with its actual content. Lore, characters, etc have lot of potential for a Persona-like RPG. And now they are working on something similar under a different IP. I don't understand that strategy.

Fair. I loved the designs and worldbuilding of DC, but the 'gameplay' was horrid/nonexistent. Idle game doesn't sound like an improvement, but there was an opportunity to make an actual game with the IP, and I wish they'd have taken it.

Two more weeks, still a lot to do. But it'll be on time.

Yup:messenger_winking:

Going along nicely so far. I'll post it in Gaming Discussion like ZZZ :messenger_smiling_with_eyes: 🫴
There's still time, so don't push yourself too hard, bro! That said, I'm really looking forward to playing Endfield on Jan 22nd!

So after watching a couple of the HSR leaked videos from the past few hours, it looks like Planarcadia still keeps a lot of that Japanese vibe intact, which honestly makes me pretty excited for 4.0.

Oh, and New Eridu spotted. Joking… unless 👀

Not posting this in the ZZZ OT cuz I think this thread is more suiting for this and a lot of you still haven't posted their wishes and thoughts for 3.0, so I don't want this post to get in the way of that.

Now to the actuall point of this post. Just out of curiosity I went and checked Prydwen for DPS calcs and...

Ellen:

Miyabi:

Alice:

Jane:

YSG:

Duuuuudes! Just look at the INSANE M0 YSG vs M6 Alice solo DMG power creep two months after Alice release. Daaaaaaaaang!:messenger_grinning_squinting: This is like in GFL2 V0 to V6 equivalent, but in this case the newly released limited character is x3 times better at V0 than another at V6 which is simply unheard of in GFL2. And if you compare M6s, holly shit, it's beyond MICA's wildest dreams and expectations. But wait, there's more. Miyabi at M0 was just 100K in DPS better than Ellen at M6, and if you go for Miyabi's M6 she's 400K better than Ellen at M6. YSG at M0 is 300K in DPS better than Alice M0 (her M0 is x2 times worse than Ellen M0 btw, let it sink in) and a whopping 740K better when you compare M6s. And again, Alice was x2 times worse in DPS than Ellen at launch!

And they're rerurning Alice in a couple of weeks from now cuz... why exactly? I don't think I need to remind anyone, but Jane was released in 1.1 and right until now she wasn't power creeped that much by anyone, cuz Alice is not that much better and Jane is way better with more mindscapes and Alice's sig (if you go for it), which is why I didn't pull for Alice and never will + we can now unlock Jane's dupes and dupes of her sig instead of pulling for them. Furthermore, YSG is just 260K in DPS better than Miyabi in DPS when you compare M6s, which is x2 times more than Ellen and Miyabi difference at M0, and ~100K in DPS better than Miyabi when you compare M0s.

Don't forget, it's not cuz characters are worse due to HP and DEF inflation in SD or DA, no, it's their pure DPS numbers based on their kits, sigs and conditions (companion buffs for Anomaly characters). Also, it's cool to see that Ellen's P6 is basicaly her M4-M5 now in terms of DPS, but man, I feel so bad for those who pulled Alice, like JFC is't just unbelievable what they did to her and again, Jane is from 1.1 and survived 2 (!!!) Void Hunters and she's really good in Jane > Yanagi > Yuzu team with her M1 and sig and Yanagi's disorders, even though Burnice is supposed to be her BIS without Viv.

Sure, a Voidhunter is stronger, but are they comparable, since Ysg is meant for Miasma and Alice/Jane prefer anomaly opponents?

Surprisingly, M6 Ellen can still wipe out the current Wandering Hunter in Deadly Assault (e.g. score 65k points), but she needs strong supports like Dyalin and Zhao with mindscapes (M2) and signature w‑engines. She also performs better on The Thrall than Miyabi, since that boss has anti‑anomaly mechanics but is weak to Ice. Not that this is saying much, but I think she's currently in a better spot than Hugo, meta‑wise, lol.

Comparable in what? Not in pure DPS numbers that's for sure. I don't think YSG is meant for Miasama, cuz she's not Rapture like Yixuan and other Rapture characters deal with Miasma shield faster cuz they're build for this purpose and Sheer Force in mind, unlike other characters and YSG Sheer Force is at 0. Well, I mean, I guess... you can argue that her unique version of Physical anomaly and DMG type can be considred as Miasma shield counter, yes.

The thing about YSG though, is that she's so OP at M0 even, that even if for some bosses you need anomaly characters, she basically doesn't care about any of that and can power through Anomaly reqs and Miasma like it's nothing, just like Miyabi did with basically everything when she was released and still can do now. And YSG can deal with Anomaly bosses too at M0 and I just did a quick and effortless run to demonstrate it in the current DA (I didn't care about the score, just did a basic firts try run):

2TzIehi.png

Also in case with YSG you can benefit from other team members too cuz her Anomaly DMG is different from Dialyn and Zhao (same with Miyabi), so you can also get Assaults and Disorders on top of how OP she is on her own without them. I even saw a comment when someone claimed that he forgot to lvl up Zhao skills before the run, so she was with skills at lvl 1 and he still cleared fine.

She also performs better on The Thrall than Miyabi, since that boss has anti‑anomaly mechanics but is weak to Ice.
Um, you can clear 65 lvl Thrall in 40s with Miyabi > Dialyn > Zhao and I did it multiple times during farming for core upgrades. It's so easy that he can't even do anything cuz you're breaking his whole fight with a giant hammer.

Didn't say otherwise, but you're brute‑forcing the boss when it was clearly designed to be anti‑anomaly. Ellen with similar investment will perform just as well on The Thrall as Miyabi.

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm talking about end‑game content like Deadly Assault and the new Shiyu Defense Node 5. You can obviously clear the farmable bosses with pretty much anyone…

I hate the hit damage indicators. That needs to be removed from JRPGs.

Silver Palace looks better and better each time they show it.

3:58-4:19 is insane, theyre going to revolutionize gacha games with this gameplay mechanic :messenger_grinning_smiling:
That investigation feature sure is nice and all, but I prefer more action, so this parry fail sequence on the female boss is more on my liking. :messenger_grinning_sweat: I applied 2x slow. :P

Finally watched Silver Palace gameplay.

The first thing I'll say is that the fact that they're going for a British VA instead of English VA for the game is brilliant! It fits the theme and setting perfectly and it's so much better than cringe, childish and exaggerated to 11 English VA in ZZZ which I simply can't stand. Combat-wise, Idk, I need to play it first, but it's a work in progress still and for the foreseeable future so I'd say it looks good for now at least.

Welp, looks like it's over for Brown Dust 2. They flew too close to the sun, and now they're doing a big censorship wave. Looks like they're removing design details related to 'school' settings and changing the loli cutscenes for now, removing one of the minigames (a rhythm game where you slap the girls' butts). They're also changing some unannounced future content and future planned skins.

My guess is that they're retroactively trying to appease the Steam overlords to get their game on the platform. It will never be enough though, they'll just find new stuff to complain about.

vowvezgy5bcg1.png

They did a livestream a few hours ago, and everybody was mad about this lol.

I figured it'd just be a matter of time, but still sad to see.

There's so much lewd stuff in BD2 that the only way to censor the game is changing it completely. I mean, the last bunnies feature crotch close ups. If any of that is removed, the game will be EOS even before they hit Steam.

Dumb decision, anyway.

Pejo Pejo all versions (I mean maybe there's different launchers etc.) of the game will be censored or just Steam one? Why not do this just for Steam?

They haven't even officially announced that they're doing this to appease Steam, but a month ago they were almost released on Steam but cancelled the release for some 'mysterious' reason. These changes don't mention Steam either, but it all makes too much sense as to what happened then and now. Regardless, these changes are happening in all regions in all versions of the game.

There's so much straight up porn shit on Steam and these guys need to censor their game just to get to the platform (can't think of any other reason myself tbh cuz it looks like it all started after the news about Steam release)? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to butcher current versions which are completely free from Steam and don't need any changes. Like, I guess they don't want to separate the player base and use different servers for Steam, but then and after all this they probably won't even have a player base at all.

Yep, bolded is exactly what's going to happen. This was never going to be a 'normie' game, so pissing off the gooner audience you carefully curated (especially after having their biggest revenue month yet), and then pulling this stuff, it's mind numbingly stupid. You can't even depend on braindead redditors that say stuff like "I play it for the story and the gameplay!" because nobody will believe you. They're both serviceable, but everybody that's here is here for the art.

Literally some of the dumbest decisions I've seen by a gacha dev. It's like they're purposefully killing their own game right when they get their first tastes of success.

It makes sense if you understand the mindset of the woke mob. They don't go after minor prey. This is a relatively sucessful Korean gacha. Like Shift Up with Stellar Blade, it's a menace to their sick status quo. Dark porn games are not. They don't want normies embracing "gooner games".

All this proves, once again, that Steam is not the "freedom for gamers" or whatever other bullshit Gabe's fanboys love to preach about.

The crazy thing is that they have their own standalone PC client already, but for whatever reason, they only make it available on the official Discord. Between that and the web shop, they already have a self sufficient way for PC gamers to play and pay.

I really don't understand their decision making for this, at all. Sure Steam offers a huge install base, but that's just like every Hollywood movie company trying to get that 1 big hit in China.

I remember Snowbreak running into some similar issues, but that was because "antis" kept reporting them to CCP, so they were forced to censor a lot of the designs. At least they left a very easy way to fully uncensor the game for PC players by just tweaking a value in the localization.txt file (I think you can do it on Android too).

These BD2 devs (or the execs behind the decision) are just being dumb, though. There's no equivalent CCP boogeyman breathing down their necks in SK, so it's kinda obvious they're censoring as much as they can to take another shot at getting the game on Steam. Shameful ignorance from the devs just to appeal to a possibly nonexistent new userbase, and yeah, they'll probably lose a big chunk of their current playerbase over this.

Looks like the character banner uses the same hard‑pity rules as WuWa (80, compared to 90 in the big hoyo games). Not sure about the weapon banner yet, but I'm hoping it's guaranteed like in WuWa, otherwise, lmao.

Expected, if disappointing all the same. After DNA's experiment (and revenue mostly), I don't think we'll see any creative or alternate gacha systems for a very long time.

In some games like GFL2 with clearly know rerun scheldue (and the fact that the game is not that hard or complicated to begin with) you can get away with 75/25 for example, cuz sigs there makes no sense for some characters cuz way better F2P options available or for some sigs you need V6 of a character otherwise they're useless. But in gacha games like Silver Palace... they better have 100% sig banner like in WuWa cuz there's no reason not to and it'll be very player friendly. Doing what HoYo does is never a good thing.

I'll admit, with Silver Palace, I was originally drawn in with the aesthetic and the setting. Now that we're getting more info about it, it looks very much like a by-the-numbers HoYo-like with a very familiar battle system, exploration system, rewards system, etc. I'm still going to try it out, but I don't need another game in the exact same formula in my daily routine, just with new hats.

Azur Promilia is the exception, because I think it looks polished as hell, and the pokemon aspects are novel enough to give me something new to do (I didn't play Palworld).

I know you've got a pretty big dislike for Hotta, which is fair, but I do think NTE has one of the more player‑friendly character banner systems out of all these recent big AAA gacha titles. No 50/50, a 1.8% S Rank rate, hard pity at 90, soft pity at 70. I'm obviously not sure about the pull income yet, but it does look promising at least.

My opinions on Hotta aside, I will be trying this out, too. Their weapon system seems to be friendly, but with their inability to handle game balance and powercreep, I wouldn't be surprised to see dupes being 'mandatory' for play. Still, that chart does make it look very player friendly. I particularly like that their constellations aren't activated in any particular order, you can pop whichever ones you want. That's pretty cool.

I still think PGR has one of the best gachas in the market. They have both a gambler and a guaranteed character banner, and for anniversaries and special events, they turn the gambler banner (lower pity) into a guaranteed, which never expires and transfers over to any future banner I think I have like 3-4 guaranteed gambler banners queued up. You can buy enough character shards to instantly SS a character upon their release with easily obtained gameplay currency (think like Constellation 2 levels of power by HoYo standards). The weapon banners are like 30 max pity, and they have a second equipment banner (pets) that is 20 max pity. If you're not obsessing over the endgame modes, you can have every character and their gear pretty easily as f2p. Different genre of game, of course, but it's still the gold standard for gacha in my eyes.

We had a good run. Game is pretty much close to hentai. I would be fine with redisigning the more problematic loli outfits and scenes (they are gonna do that) but they are going to tone down the lewdness of the game going forward as well?. They said it was a side effect of the increase in popularity and pretty much blamed the censorship decision on the 3rd party vendors. I just had praised them for not bending the knee to Steam, and now they bending all joints. Very dissapointing.

Saying that, in the upcoming Blade skill cutscenes shes literally naked, so dunno how much this censorship wave that seem to be targeted at the underaged characters is actually gonna affect the more mature looking ones in the future, but i got the impression that the plan is to keep the game sexy but not too lewd because of the increase in popularity and to make it easier to get partnerships with 3rd party vendors. Dunno if this incluses Visa/Mastercard or is more of platform holders or merchandise sellers.

I have a feeling this graph trend is gonna switch, but we have to wait untill the next anniversary to see if these decisions actually made an impact or not.

Yeah, I wanted to mention this pre‑reg web event too, but I completely forgot, lol. I think you have to do 7 draws to guarantee the 5* weapon, which is BiS for Chen. I still need to do two more draws to grab it.

Based on my CBT2 experience, it's going to take several hours before you can even roll on the banners, so there's not much incentive to reroll accounts unless you want to waste a ton of time. You can probably shorten it to around 1.5 hours if you skip all the cutscenes, but that's still a pretty significant time sink.

Edit: Some other opinions from reddit on account rerolling:

Damn, not looking daijobu for rerolling. I powered through on Genshin when it released with a ~25 minute reroll per attempt, but I'm not doing hour+ reroll sessions.

I think its kinda scummy when gacha games make it prohibitive to reroll. It's the only time in the life of a game that you entirely control your fate with the gacha, at the expense of time. More than that though, I actually enjoy a good reroll session. It gets your gambling out of the way and it's fun to see what you get. But not at 1+ hours.

Well, BD2 devs made an emergency dev note addressing the livestream and censorship:

Quoting for length, but you can also view it directly on their site:
https://www.browndust2.com/en-us/news/view?id=10070
Hello, this is Jun-hee Lee, project director of BrownDust2.

We have taken the concerns and criticism you shared after yesterday's broadcast very seriously.

Our explanation was insufficient, and our wording was inappropriate.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and loss of trust this caused.

In this Developer Note, we will focus on what happened, how we made our decision, why that decision was wrong, and what we will do going forward.

1. Our decision regarding character design and cut-scene adjustments
It is true that we received external warnings requesting changes to certain in-game content.

However, how we responded was ultimately our decision, and we take full responsibility for the outcome.

We chose to comply because we were concerned that a service shutdown in one region could spread to other regions or platforms. The biggest issue, however, was that we made this decision without providing sufficient explanation or showing enough empathy.

Content for Revision:

image.png

**Added: Red Riding Hood Rou and B‑Rank Idol Seir, which were unintentionally omitted from the previous Developer Note among the content for revision.

Although there were various internal opinions and concerns raised, regardless of the process, full responsibility for the final decision lies entirely with the development team.

2. Apology for poor communication and lack of transparency
In our initial announcements, we failed to explain the situation clearly, which allowed speculation and misunderstandings to grow. This was a clear communication failure on our part.

As a result, we amplified concerns such as:

"Why did you make this decision?"
"Exactly what will be changed?"
"Will this happen again in the future?"

We sincerely apologize.

3. Mistakes in our compensation and refund guidance
During the broadcast, we provided general refund guidance before our internal review of the scope of changes and compensation policy was complete. This was plainly the wrong approach.

We should have prioritized players who disagree with the character changes but still wish to continue playing, and we failed to do so.

Accordingly, we have prepared the following compensation plan.

1. Overall Apology Compensation (All Players)
2,000 Free Diamonds per affected costume
Total: 16,000 Free Diamonds (8 costumes)

  • This compensation can be claimed from your in-game mailbox until 23:59 (UTC) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
2. Additional Compensation for Costume Owners
(1) Ownership-Based Apology Compensation
2,000 Free Diamonds per owned costume
Up to 16,000 Free Diamonds if you own all 8 costumes

  • Eligibility is based on having a record of owning the costume(s) as of Jan 9.
After confirming eligible accounts, we will distribute the rewards as soon as possible.
(2) Refund Option (Upon Request)
If you wish to request a refund:

  • 13,400 Free Diamonds per costume upgraded level
e.g. If all 8 costumes are upgraded to +5, the total refund for requesting refunds for all applicable costumes will be 643,200 Free Diamonds.
(The refund application process will be announced in a separate notice as soon as possible.)
* If you request a refund, the corresponding costume(s) will be reclaimed after the Diamonds are granted.

* For refunded costumes, the Magic Crystals and Tear of Goddess used on them will be returned.

* If a refund results in you no longer owning any costumes for that character, we will also return the materials you used for Awakening.

4. Clear Standards for the Scope of Future Changes
To reduce ambiguity in how underage implications might be interpreted, we removed character age labels.

At the same time, we understand that people may interpret a character's appearance differently, and we fully recognize why this can feel unsettling.

To be clear:
There are no plans to make any further changes to characters that are clearly recognized as adults.

5. Apology for the "mainstream" remark and our service direction
The term we used on stream—"mainstream" was inappropriate.
Regardless of our intent, it was phrasing that could easily be misunderstood.

To address the suspicion that this was done to pursue expansion to a specific country or major platform: that is not the case. This was not a choice made to enter new markets—it was a response intended to avoid being restricted or removed from the regions and platforms where we already operate.

While explaining the context behind our decision, we used the vague term "mainstream" in an attempt to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings. However, regardless of our intent, it ended up causing even greater confusion.

Going forward, we will continue to maintain BrownDust2's fun and sexy, male‑oriented direction—such as Wilhelmina's tights cutscene and Ventana's coffee bean cutscene.

And to be absolutely clear: if "mainstream" is understood to mean expanding to new major platforms or new regions with a broader audience, there is no reason for us to abandon our core identity for that purpose.

We sincerely apologize again for the inappropriate wording.

6. Decision regarding Liberta's Prestige Skin
Liberta's Prestige Skin was originally planned around the keyword "sensory deprivation." The concept involved interaction with pink tentacles inside a jar. However, the final in-game presentation felt far more realistic and intense than the original concept art.

Internally, some concerns were raised that the tentacle element—and keywords that could be interpreted as an "extreme fetish"—went beyond a simple question of "how explicit it is." After seeing the animated version, those concerns became even stronger.

We also recognize that we did not explain this clearly during the broadcast. Because the concept itself was very niche and heavy, we avoided stating it directly—but comments like "it was too intense" or "we'll show it later" were not appropriate. We apologize for that.

We wanted to preserve Liberta's overall design and cutscenes, which is why we decided to provide the skin without interactions. However, we understand that this was difficult to accept for those who were looking forward to interacting with Liberta.

Therefore, we have decided to withdraw the "special skin" plan for Liberta and recreate it as a Prestige Skin with interactions, scheduled to be produced within the first half of this year.

We sincerely apologize for the confusion.

7. About the number of pickup costumes in January
This winter, we prepared three pickup costumes in December and three in January.

Until now, pickups have typically run one at a time on a two-week cycle, so after the 2.5th Anniversary update ended in December, many of you reasonably expected January to feature only two pickups.

However, because two buffer-type costumes were featured as pickups at the same time, players ended up needing more pulls than usual—yet we did not provide sufficient notice in advance.

Accordingly, we will extend both Granadair pickups by two additional weeks, for a total duration of four weeks.

If a similar situation occurs in the future, we will provide clear advance notice and adjust the schedule as needed to ensure a more reasonable and understandable service experience.

8. Regarding the first-person "Master" perspective
First, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort many of you felt about introducing the first-person "Master" perspective, and for failing to communicate clearly enough—resulting in a loss of trust in the story's direction.

We would like to provide additional context on this change.

The decision to introduce the "Master" perspective was not made in response to public opinion or survey results. It was an independent judgment made by the development team after long and careful consideration of how BrownDust2's narrative should expand and where it should go next. That said, it is entirely our fault that we did not explain that process and intent properly.

We have seen many comments such as, "The Master doesn't feel like the player," and "I don't want to be the Master." We believe this discomfort largely comes from the fact that the "Master" currently feels like a separate third character rather than "you," the player.

As mentioned during yesterday's broadcast, we are reviewing ways to help players feel more directly involved—such as reflecting your name in how the Master is addressed and ensuring the Master role is integrated more naturally into the narrative. We will also refine the overall writing and presentation so that you can feel a stronger sense of presence and importance within the world.

At the same time, it is true that due to the structure and production schedule of the main story, we cannot fully reverse direction or apply major changes immediately all at once.

For that reason, Story Pack 21 will continue with the Master perspective as originally planned, while we conduct additional surveys and gather feedback to more clearly understand your actual immersion level and discomfort. We will use the feedback collected as a key reference when reviewing and adjusting the direction of the main story moving forward.

We understand that your strong criticism comes from deep care for the game. Once again, we apologize for not communicating more transparently with players who have been invested in the existing story.

We will review every piece of feedback carefully and return with a story that feels more natural and emotionally resonant.

9. We Will Rebuild Your Trust.
Any difficulties within the development team or internal circumstances are not something our players should have to bear.

As developers, we should be judged by our results and we fully accept that responsibility.

Once again, we sincerely apologize.

We understand that rebuilding trust will take time—especially given the concerns around costume and cutscene adjustments, the removal of the minigame, anxiety over story changes, and ongoing optimization issues. Even so, we will take full responsibility and follow through on each of the actions we have outlined, one by one.

As a sincere apology, we have prepared the following compensation. We ask for your patience and continued support as we work to do better.

[Apology Compensation]

  • 100 Draw Tickets
  • This compensation can be claimed from your in-game mailbox until 23:59 (UTC) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Thank you.

So TL;DR according to them, the reason for the censorship was that certain regions were planning on blackballing the game, not an attempt to try to get on Steam. Most of the changes were done because of loli designs (as expected) and because some things were 'abusive" or 'fearful' towards (virtual) women (pixels). They also talk about how the Liberta interactive skin was canned because it was too lewd even for them, so they took out the interactive elements and just made it an alt look. But now that they got shit for it, they're going to remake it but less lewd.

Doesn't sound good to me anyways, but they're offering a bunch of compensation (useless since the game is already very f2p friendly).

This doesn't really change my mind on anything, but it's nice that they didn't wait and let it fester over the weekend to handle it on Monday. What say you guys, Angry_Megalodon Angry_Megalodon Aenima Aenima ?

I appreciate their explanations. Though I remain a bit skeptikal, I'll wait for future updates to make a proper judgment.

If this is as little an issue as Nikke's "corrections" (which didn't bother me the least), they should be fine.

Something I also just saw mentioned, given the devs' latest update on compensation. If you had all 8 loli costumes at +5, you can refund and get over 600,000 gems, which should make any f2p player pretty much never have to worry about getting every character maxed in the game for the rest of its life, lol

Here's the math
13,400 Free Diamonds per costume upgraded level e.g. If all 8 costumes are upgraded to +5, the total refund for requesting refunds for all applicable costumes will be 643,200 Free Diamonds.

Looks like Silver Palace is sending out beta access for a test in ~3 days, got a nice surprise in my email

You can also go to their pre-register site and enter your email to see if you made it in the beta(I did not make it in).

In other news, that idle game (Lost Sword) that I was playing for a while is at its half-anniversary, giving out a bunch of pulls and whatnot, and their character designs have really GROWN.

Well, it's going to be a pretty boring two weeks until Endfield drops, so I'm just sticking to dailies in all the gachas I've got in my rotation and maybe some more Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault in ZZZ. In the meantime, Imma try some western slop aka Borderlands 4 (grabbed it for €37 on CDKeys), since I've heard the gunplay is better than BL3, which I already liked, and the open world exploration is supposedly done well. Still a bit worried about how badly it runs, but hopefully my PC can brute force its way through it.
