Death Stranding 2 PC version get rated by ESRB

I purchased it for Death Stranding 2 and other games. I dont regret it, DS2 looks insane on the Pro. I probs wouldnt sell it to be honest as id keep hold of it just to jump on what's coming when we have hard dates for Wolverine etc.

Unless they went up in price and I could guarantee more or less the same I paid for it.

Ive always played on everything but PC has always been my main platform since HL2 steam account creation. if games start coming 6 months after launch like this is looking to...I could probably wait for them. Dunno.

As for being a warrior, I realised a while ago its not that I dont like Sony, ive had every playstation device outside of PSVR2 and Portal, it's actually that I hate their hardcore fans. The ones that think they are owed every game to be on their platform day one and would boycott games when they didn't get them and refused or continue to refuse that any other platform is a relevant platform for people who just enjoy games and not warring. Those peeps that say "Nintendo is Kiddy games" etc

Ive got loads of serious Sony fans on here that I respect massively and genuinely enjoy engaging with and I think its because they clearly own other platforms like switch and PC but prefer Sony and Sonys games / platform. Thats awesome to me.

Its those other weirdo's ......

Who's alt are you, anyway?
Pretty much me. Like sony games and hardware. Hate their "fanbase". They were making petitions to capcom, to stop the porting of DMC to the 360 in 2007. Most are europeans or south americans. Who just play fifa, is the weird part.

Kojima is 2nd party and DS Ip is now owned by Kojima. Kojima is the one calling the shots since he bought DS IP. This was expected. Even DS1 DC was ported to PC and xbox. But I doubt if there will be a xbox port due to low number of sales of Ds1 DC on xbox. PC number is not that spectacular for DS1 Dc but decent, so ports for pcmr is justified. I love this game. Very beautiful and generational type of game. Epic in scale and addictive, but I admit the sales was bad. If it was good maybe it will remain exclusive or at least a much longer time exclusivity. Well enjoy pcmr. Its very beautiful on ps5 and ps5 pro, let see how it looks on a very expensive rig.
>That game published by Sony has no association with Sony!
Careful, that goalpost looks heavy

How was this game anyway, now that the launch honeymoon window has settled.

Stunning visuals but then they lost me at Dollman. Until I threw him at someone then which he
turned into a camera
and I was like wtf were they smoking over there? Smh, the game is more or the same yet not the same but instead, I have no idea. It's pretty good. 7/10

I'm about 140 hours into it at the moment and still only on chapter 8. Returnal was my favorite game of this generation, but Death Stranding 2 may have surpassed it for me. One of the best expriences out there at the moment imo. I recognize it's not for everyone however. But if you get really sucked into it like I have, it's totally engrossing.

I completed the first one, but it kinda felt like a chore. How different as a game is this compared to the first, same mechanics in general? Anything streamlined? Fat trimmed? Lots of improvements? Or basically the same game?

This is good to read. It's my next AAA game to play after I beat Expedition 33.

It feels the same mechanically to DS1, there's no drastic changes from the first game. Order delivery can certainly be streamlined now in comparison to the first game, with more options at your disposal to deliver large quantities of items at once, such as the new monorail system. But honestly nah, I wouldn't say fat was trimmed. There is a ton of game here being offered.

But 100% lots of improvements and additions over the first one.

- There is wildlife roaming around the world, both organic and chiral variants. The chiral variants are really weird, sometimes passive, sometimes hostile. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, sudden flooding, sandstorms, and fire keep you on your toes. So the world feels more alive this time around.

- Driving mechanics feel improved. Road building is expanded upon over the first game, and you can customize your vehicles with a ton of new equipment, whether it be mounted guns and grenade launchers, or a device that will grab cargo for you as you are driving.

- Tons of new gadgets, weapons, and gear to use. I do feel like combat was expanded on to the point where going into an enemy settlement guns blazing is more of a viable option now than it was in the first game. The melee combat moveset is expanded as well, and there are training simulations you can do which allow you to practice the new movesets and try all the new weapons. Along with more weapon options comes more enemy variety, with way more BT variants and human enemy types this time.

- The DHV Magellan ship acts as your home base for resting and story moments, but it's also mobile and travels around the map with you, and you can use it to take you places around the map.

-There are RPG-lite systems this time with a full skill tree you can customize that enhances your abilities, as well as stat upgrades. With the skill tree, you are given a point allowance to use to purchase whatever skills you want equipped, and the more you improve your star relationships with other porters in the world, the more points you are given to use. With the stat upgrades, basically the more you do of something, the more it will level up. For example, the more you run, the more your endurance will improve. Or the more you use sniper rifles, the steadier your aim will be while using them. The more you haul cargo on your back, the heavier weight allowance you have to carry things. It reminds of me of how Elder Scrolls: Oblivion handles ability progression.

-The combination of Mexico and Australia make for a more interesting open-world than the US last time, with a greater variety of biomes, like a desert, jungle, forest, etc.

-Obviously visually it's a very noticeable improvement over the first. I don't have a Pro unfortunately, but even on the base PS5 it's gorgeous.

-The dualsense feedback and speaker sounds are some of the best of the games I've played. You could literally play this game muted but with full sound on the controller and not feel like you are missing out on much outside of the story moments. You scan that odradek and hear it through the speaker, feel the vibration ripples as it goes out scanning the environment. It sounds weird to really point out but it's very well done. I often play this way because I like to listen to my own music instead of Kojima's taste in artists in between the story parts.

I could go on but you get the idea, and I don't want to add too much to the point where it gets spoilery. With that being said, if you completed the first and it felt like a chore, there's a good chance you'd get that same feeling here. The delivery quests are mandatory for story progression. I think at my point so far, I've completed about 40 main story missions and another 100 sub orders. It's a massive game, but has a really cool sci-fi plot attached to it that has me wanting to see what happens next.

Awesome. Not sure if you tried the first one, but if not I'd say just go in with an open mind and you might get surprised. It will take some time at first to get familiar with the mechanics and systems, but you will learn more as you go along.

Oh if you loved DS1, I'd say DS2 is an absolute no brainer.

My man. I feel you. Around 100 hours and chapter 6 so far. It's pure comfort food for me. Love it. I can totally understand why people would hate it, but if it clicks!

Yep, you get it my dude. If it clicks with you, the gameplay loop is so satisfying. Completing orders, raising your star level with porters, unlocking new items, experimenting with the items to see if it improves things or how they can be useful, repairing the roads, getting approval likes from other players online. I love putting on music and just getting in the zone, and then every once in a while getting interrupted by some wild story sequence.

We are at a similar point in the story, but everyone who has completed it says the final chapters are completely insane, so I'm really interested to see where it goes.

Yeah I played and beat the first game. Played it for about 70 or so hours and LOVED it!

Is the road maintenance still deteriorating while offline? That was one of the worst mechanics for my ocd since MGSV...

It does still deteriorate, but now you can upgrade the roads on top of building them, which gives a number of added benefits. After you've built a road, you can contribute materials to upgrade the road to a "level 2" version, which puts a holographic roof overhead that blocks timefall from touching you or your vehicle, significantly increases driving speed on the upgraded section of road, and slows down the deterioraion rate so that it doesn't have to be repaired as often.

I upgraded all of my roads the other day to the level 2 version. Took me a few hours, but totally worth it because now I'm driving around the map much faster than before, and the deterioration is minimal. Alot of online players were happy with the upgrades as well.

I really loved what I played, and I played a decent chunk of it. I'm just at the point now where I got so sidetracked that I feel like I might as well just wait for the PC version, double dip, and finish it there.

Even the additions in Directors cut was enough for me to replay the game again. DS2 more or less being like DS1 is fine with me.
I have managed to keep myself 95% blind to its new content. C'mon steam machine get released already, I wanna play this game.

you will get rewarded for ignoring everything about this game, trailers included
so keep on keeping on!

My man!

I literally spam so many likes on my fellow porters structures. I genuinely feel that other high level porters feel the same as me. Little by little we keep on keeping on to make the world a better place.

I don't care if it sounds corny but I genuinely adore this franchise.

Just setting all my zip lines up now. I love how you can bend the traversal line in number 2.

Nice, man. I haven't even gotten into the zip lines yet to be honest with you. I've so far mainly focused on building the roads and some of the monorail system, and driving around with my custom Pickup Offroader. But I have used a few zip lines that were put down by other porters and indeed, the ability to bend the trajectory line of them now is a very welcome addition. I'm sure I'll need to set up a system of them soon because I'm starting to trek through the mountainous snowy areas where traversal is rough.

I'm the same as you though, spamming those like as fast as I can for other users until I feel the burn in my forearm lol. It's nice to be generous with them, because it feels good to log in and be hit with a ton of them. I also like the new social strand feed where the porters and crew members send you updates about what's going on with them.

Sounds like we have similar play styles. I use my DPD truck for the main part of the beginning and mid part of the game. Fixing roads and monorails. I have the gun and sucky sticky launcher for random parcels / loot. I basically 5 star every shelter that I can.

Then, once I get so much stuff set up and the roads are all repaired I move onto zip lines as they become invaluable for end game. I usually lose the car then and go on foot with the little cargo drones carriers following you.

in ds1 i was so proud of my zipline network optimization, spent way more time i care to admit making it... can't wait for ds2 i didn't watch anything except the first trailer, this year with ds2, nioh3 and cd will be a great year for me :)

Nice. I'm about 50% through with the first part. Looks amazing on 21:9 display. I guess it's gonna be out by the time I've finished the first one.

Second game has pretty much the same gameplay loop. If you won't make break between them you might get fatigue at some point (and both games are long).
