I still wanna jump in and check it out, but honestly those reviews make me uneasy seeing players bash the project en masse.
I did?but butMen_in_Boxes told that this game would be awsome and the best 2026 MP game aside from Marathon.
What happened ?
This is super weird, are they saying Doc faked the badge to appear to be at this event? There is this weird controversy going on regarding Dr Disrespect supposedly lying about attending the launch event. Why would he lie about this? For some reason I don't trust this "creator manager" either. We will see I guess.
Yes, that is exactly what they are saying. This is super weird, are they saying Doc faked the badge to appear to be at this event?
I know Geoff has denied this but to me it sure seems like he has money invested in this gameSomething's off with this whole situation.
Geoff gave the developers a free spot at the end of the show to show off the game.
The game looks tired and boring and has ever since it was announced.
Geoff has been on a marketing Crusade for this game in the last 48 hours. So much so that they're kind of embarrassing meme level type stuff.
This whole thing just proves that the people on the other side of the game industry are beyond out of touch of a players want. Geoff posting an article from polygon sealed the deal.
How are they so tone deaf to their end users wants?
Who cares, honestly. There is this weird controversy going on regarding Dr Disrespect supposedly lying about attending the launch event. Why would he lie about this? For some reason I don't trust this "creator manager" either. We will see I guess.
There was probably A LOT of marketing money involved in paying influencers instead of doing marketing material like trailers and so on.Something's off with this whole situation.

I didn't realize he actually denied it. Doesn't mean I believe him or he has some type of connection to the funding of the game.I know Geoff has denied this but to me it sure seems like he has money invested in this game
I expect Highguard to be dead pretty much within a month. Negative Steam reviews or not, the game doesn't even look appealing. Plus you have a juggernaut game from Capcom about to release in a few weeks. There was probably A LOT of marketing money involved in playing influencers instead of doing marketing material like trailers and so on.
So these people are on a payroll and a pretty good one.
Expect it to die down overnight, once their contract ends.
Update: Seems The Doc actually did lie about it to troll the devs, gg I guess. But if your reputation is so bad that you can troll others by faking your attendance, is it really a win?Yes, that is exactly what they are saying.
The REEtards were also losing their minds over this so there is obviously an interest from developer side to damage control this. Waiting to see what Doc has to say about it.
Yeah I'm a Doc fan but no idea what his thinking behind this is. Is he trying to undermine what little of his reputation is left even further?Who cares, honestly.
I wish I could put money on this it's like watching a horse raceNo chance.

It's blackmail they've got pictures of Geoff's bum that were meant for Kojima's eyes onlySomething's off with this whole situation.

As always - "ha ha, it's a joke bro" - never lands. Also DD is an idiot and potentially a sexual predator, how can anyone be his fan at this point. Even fucking Mr. Beast is a better role model.Update: Seems The Doc actually did lie about it to troll the devs, gg I guess.
It's day one and the studio is already distancing HG from their other games? It seems that they removed "From the Creators of Apex Legend and Titanfall" from the Steam Page.
LOL
LMAO even.
*Edit, here the proof![]()
Not to roll over a dead horse with a steamroller
Bro, Geoff charges milions of usd for showing trailers on his show, and final trailer is likely 10m usd+, likely he has some confidential agreements, simple as that.Something's off with this whole situation.

Looks like Geoff told you all to like the game and you didn't listen.

The money went to whoever was available. A bunch of websites and influencers in my country suddenly started talking about Highguard in a synchronized way, like they all got the same briefing and were repeating the same mantra, stuff like:There was probably A LOT of marketing money involved in paying influencers instead of doing marketing material like trailers and so on.
So these people are on a payroll and a pretty good one.

Who has actually played it so far here and can give some info on besides " it's bad "?
The trailer from a month ago was clearly 3v3. The narrow choke point during the siege phase would not play well with more players. For all the criticism about too big maps and not enough players, i think anyone thinking it was originally higher player counts is correct.
They had more players but reduced it. The game already has performance issues so they reduced it since it was even worse before.
It was probably a late decision and don't have time to adjust and rebalance the map. And they didn't want to tell gamers a month ago it's 3 vs 3 or else gamers would grill it as you could see by the trailer the maps were going to be pretty big with horse travel. It was never going to be COD sized kind of maps so telling it's small player count would be a turn off.
Highbear?
I think the game would be fine if it had not had been the final trailer of the game awards. It over hyped and placed a magnifying glass on the game that it could not with stand. The game needed to come out and grow organically. Instead it has come out and been blasted with a slim chance of recovery.
I don't think this game has much going for it. I bet most of the people who tried it yesterday, were just curious, in the same way people are curious to see a car crash. After they tried it for a bit, most turned it off.
The trailer gave it a lot of attention, which backlashed for being so bland and undeserving of such a spot. But without it, most people would not have talked about it. Or even tried it.
He is smart and very succesfull multimionaire, obviously 0 cents of his private money went into this shit, he got paid hefty sum to promote it at the end of tga and thats it xDlol at people in here thinking Geoff has money invested in the game

How it plays mostly. I wonder if people are hating on it to hate on it or if it has a promise. What info do you want?
Not directly but he absolutely does. Is it a good thing for Geoff if developers now start thinking that picking the wrong spot at the Game Awards could backfire on them?lol at people in here thinking Geoff has money invested in the game

He gets paid to promote a lot of shit, he went way overboard promoting thisHe is smart and very succesfull multimionaire, obviously 0 cents of his private money went into this shit, he got paid hefty sum to promote it at the end of tga and thats it xD
For the simple reason that this game flopping hard reflects terrible on him/his tga show, presenting this kind of shit as final trailer of the show even tho he made some big bucks, make him/his show lose status, before it was more or less bangers/games players were hyped for that got the crown jewel trailer spot, this year it was just shitty game, what comes next year, trailer fore some mobile gacha game as long as they fork up 10m usd for geoff? He gets paid to promote a lot of shit, he went way overboard promoting this
Money, it's always about money. He's doubling down out of self-interest. If this game fails, advertisers will have doubts about the cost/benefit ratio that the Game Awards can charge to sell an ad-block during the show.Maybe he was just doubling down because of the reception it got as his "one last thing" during the VGAs. He probably wanted to be vindicated.
25K is already a stretch, look at current player count, it's stuck at 16K~.I think it will go up to around 50k again. Many people havent tried it out yet even though the word of mouth is very bad, people will still check it out. But its gonna be a steady decline from now on. I think it will bottom out around 10-15k with spikes on the weekend for the near future.
