Microsoft Gaming Revenue Q2: Gaming (-9%), Hardware (-32%), Content and Services (-5%); Operating expenses increased driven by impairment charges

lol so they ported everything to PS5, saw a 30% decline in hardware, and still managed to sell fewer games. Had Phil done nothing, they wouldve probably posted better numbers.

What a joke Phil Spencer has become. Every decision he's made has blown up in his face. A true jackass. One of the worst executives of all time, if not the worst. Literally ran Xbox to the ground.

The hardware was predictable. They've even stopped restocking units in key markets, and it's selling for $100-$150 more than the PS5 in all others.

But what really impacts the numbers compared to last year is COD 2025. Selling ~60% less than COD 2024 definitely crushes those figures. If COD had had the same sales (or even slightly less) as in 2024, those numbers and figures would have turned green.

The no question that MS will be out of gaming very soon.

They have to see that they have much better opportunities for their $$$ elsewhere. Its almost incomprehensible that they dont come to this conclusion imo. And sooner rather than later. They have a lot of assets to sell off and would get a sizable amount to invest into something else.

Wasn't he the only one who convinced Nadella to invest in the Xbox division instead to sell it?

We all know that no one would buy the Xbox division and only the IPs and a few studios.

I mean, he still fucked up, but the Xbox division was already 6ft under because of Don Mattrick and the One.
This is definitely what ended xbox. A lack of console growth didnt help

Agreed. I'm surprised they haven't pulled out of gaming already. Microsoft usually don't hesitate to cancel projects, no matter how massive, once it's clear it's not going to grow the way they want it to. See Windows Phone and Skype for example.

My honest prediction: the next PC/Xbox hardware will flop so badly that Microsoft will abandon any future 'console' hardware, shut down several studios, and keep only the most profitable ones. Even their game streaming service will be at serious risk 💀💀💀

Don't be surprised if Microsoft ends up selling Activision.... :messenger_poop:
