A true 90s flight-sim legend returns ✈️
Originally developed by Digital Image Design and now published by MicroProse, F-22: Air Dominance Fighter is coming soon to Steam.

Classic sim-arcade combat and full AWACS command return, now enhanced with 6DoF head tracking, achievements, mod support, and visuals ranging from authentic 320×200 to crisp 4K.

Awsome game

Still have my old PC original Big box game, along with a few other old PC games

I don't think there are any 90s flight sims that run at proper high res/fps so this is a must buy for me.
You can use dgvoodoo2 to translate many old versions of directx, glide or napalm. It's my go to for aeons. Great for MechWarrior4, SWAT3 and whatever else I play that hasn't been remastered/updated in recent years (l used it for Thief 1-2/SS2/etc. but NewDark negated the need for it, still for 3).

Some like SWAT3 can work in widescreen too (not sure about MW4, maybe the 3D can be widescreen but the HUD will stretch - minor issue - tbh I keep the oldies in 4:3 myself but I'm sure I'd gotten SWAT3 at least in proper widescreen without a stretched HUD when trying out different options).

The exact niche of flight sims that I miss the most.

Neither the "read a 300 pages manual to start the left engine and zero the azimuth" nor "Flamenco dance dodging missiles Ace Combat".

Let's hope that mod support gains some traction.

WOW, that game was awesome and I spent tons of hours on it back in the day.

It's a pain to get it to work on modern computers. So this is a fantastic deal for me.

What's next, Pong in native 4k resolution?
Wasn't there some Grand Prix Remake last year? Developers seem to try to play through "Remaster/Remake-The Game".
I guess some classics might actually be worth it and still have some unmatched simulation under the hood.

Same. Easily thousands of hours. I'll get it, play for 15 minutes and never touch again. :messenger_confused:
This is unfortunately the truth for me as well.

I loved these games when I was a kid. I put so many hours into stuff like this and the Janes Combat games (mainly the F15, F18, and IAF games) and the Comanche series (especially Comanche Gold). Games like this were why I put so much time into the PC when I was a kid however I don't have the patience for these games anymore.

Yeah I've had some success with dgvoodoo but it's usually the awful framerate that puts me off.

I just dig the look of 90's graphics in high res. Stuff like the Wipeout source port for instance. So clean and smooth...

Idk, it usually makes games perform pretty great in high res for me, doubt I'd use it otherwise (including for all those I named).

I should probably do some more testing 😬
My settings for MW4 if that helps (some do nothing, like phong shading, just my standard setup I start with then adjust if I encounter issues in a game). Probably have to put dgVoodoo2 in anti virus exclusions too as it gets lots of false positives.

And naturally copy the given API files to the game folder (in this case just the x86 D3D/DDraw dll files in the main MW4 folder. You can keep the Watermark check on to ensure it functions first then uncheck it after. Works pretty flawlessly for me.
