HBO making Baldur’s Gate 3 sequel series

Interesting that Chris Perkins is involved as a consultant after he left WOTC. Makes sense to do so but I'd have thought Hasbro/WOTC would want someone who still works for them instead.

HBO or Apple are the only ones I have any faith in

I like most of the shows I've seen on Apple TV, but I'm fairly new to the platform having just subbed around Christmas. I've only watched Black Bird, Shrinking, Severance, Ted Lasso, Murderbot and starting For all Mankind. Outside of Murderbot I've enjoyed everything so far.

Check out The Servant. It's so good.

What made BG3 good was Larian's approach to quests, many different ways to resolve variety of situations, and changes to D&D 5 rules, especially for combat.

The main quest was good but not amazing. BG1&2 were better in that regard. Hell, BG1&2 with expansions would have made an absolutely brilliant show if done right. No bears though. 😉

I generally like what HBO does, so I'll give this a shot.

goin to be so much schlong.

Man schlong? check.

Woman schlong? Check (because of course there is)

Bear schlong? guaranteed.

Horse schlong? Would you say neigh to that?

Bear schlong? Literally a requirement.

Dragon schlong? Two please.

etc.

I never got into watching The Last of Us. I hear mixed things about it. I have a feeling that it might still be worth a watch. HBO picking up Baldurs Gate is an interesting 'get' for them.

I haven't played a Baldurs Gate game since well... the Infinity Engine Bioware made games... which was a long time ago. I hear nothing but good things about Baldurs Gate 3. It scored highly on Metacritic, the Steam user reviews are incredibly positive. I just fell out of touch with CRPG's to be honest.

HBO certainly picks high caliber games to adapt into TV series.

But then again... Craig Mazin? Maybe that's the reason why I stayed away from The Last of Us. Seriously.. I have been oblivious to the series. HBO reporting that they are cancelling it after season 3 means nothing to me.

Reminder: Craig Mazin is the man responsible for this gem:

Dude is responsible for everything bad in the 2nd season. Druckman was only present to direct one episode (the season's best).

I'm very certain now Mazin is a hack. He struck lighting in a bottle with Chernobyl like Todd Philips with the Joker movie, but never again. He must have had some ghost writters or something.

Don't you just love when these asshat producers that greenlight these shows skip over the legacy games that built the foundations just to milk the most popular entry even if they're inferior to the old ones? It reminds me a lot of the God of War TV show where they completely skip the old GoW games and just want to leech off of the property after the success of the reboots. Same here. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 are superior to 3, but because a bunch of idiot normies bought 3, they just skip right over the old entries. I'm so sick of these tapeworms.

This will only be worth watching if they continue the adventures of my totally original, never been done before character.............Captain Planet

For some reason, I still remember every word of the theme song of that show…. Captain Planet, He's a hero, Gonna take pollution down to zero… I didn't even like that show haha.
