Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition rated in Australia

A remaster of the original game would be a whole lot more interesting than Legends that's for sure.
No, it wouldn't be. The original game's difficulty is broken to shit.

The game already got a fan remake that fixes it. It's called Rayman Forever. Ubisoft needs to leave Rayman 1 alone and give use Rayman 4.

There are some differences in level design between the various versions of the game. I was able to achieve 100% completion on the Jaguar version, but got stuck about a quarter of the way through the PlayStation version.

Isn't that exactly the type of thing a remake could fix. 🙄

Yes, that's what I would hope for.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition was developed by Digital Eclipse, and will be made available tomorrow (February 13). Game Informer has an article at the following link:

This package includes five versions of the original Rayman:

  • PlayStation
  • Jaguar
  • PC
  • Game Boy Color
  • Game Boy Advance

There is also a protoype Rayman game that was created for SNES, which will be playable here.

The package also includes 120 added levels, a "reimagined" soundtrack from Christophe Héral, rewind abilities, the option to turn on infinite lives and invincibility, and an interactive documentary with about an hour's worth of interviews, unseen concept art, early sketches, and design documents.

I would imagine that the 120 additional levels all come from the 'Rayman Designer' pack that was originally released for the PC. Which was essentially a level editor that allowed users to make their own maps.

There were multiple different released of Rayman for the PC that came with a ton of bonus maps that were made with the Rayman Designer. Rayman for the PC had a lot of different re-releases. It would have been nice if they also included the level editor in this collection... or a re-imagined one that is suited for a game controller (Mario Maker style). But this doesn't look bad for a collection of Rayman 1 games. The highlight being the playable SNES prototype.

Again no Saturn emulated version. The Saturn remains as elusive as ever when it comes to any sort of re-releases. Cool that the jaguar version is there at least. I swear I have purchased the Playstation Rayman three different times... once on disc... I have it in that Playstation Classic console. Not surprised it is included.
