MS first party variant is definitely gonna be 36 GB GDDR7 RAM, with 36 GB unified for Console SKUs, and 24 GB system ram with 12 GB vram allocation for the Steam/Epic PC games.

OEMs will be doing Xbox Elite with 48 GB GDDR7 ram.

Oops wrong thread, post was meant for the god of war remake thread, that's what happens when you have two windows going at the same time and only slept 1 hour lol.

Nobody has asked the question yet but will this device support gta 6 at its launch since it's just a pc? Or will you have to wait for the pc release?

I keep hearing over $1k price from tech smart people. I'm gonna save up. Its alot but least we can claim $3000-$4000 worth of free games every year from EGS and Amazon Prime and play them on some powerful hardware. Also we don't have to pay for online anymore.

Not sure if Microsoft is going to go ahead and launch a $1500-$2000 machine and try to claim it's an Xbox.

Also not sure who is going to spend $1500-$2000 on a SFF PC with a SOC.

it's an Xbox with full Xbox console support. it's just more open than current Xboxes.

the bigger question is if it will get a patch to actually use the new hardware properly

I wonder how long it will take? these games aren't all that long compared to the more modern games, each one is less than 12 hours if I remember correctly and God of War 3 had a lot of backtracking through the same environments. They are also linear so it's not like they are remaking an open world. I loved the first two and was very disappointed with the 3rd one after the first two boss battles, the acting and writing weren't very good either but I would still buy this trilogy just for the first two games.

This way, gramps.

If this thing sells 5 million, it'll be an accomplishment.

In this economy, it's hard to think of a worse value proposition. All the same issues as the steam machine but with none of the fanfare.
You underestimate the amount of people without money buying things they can't really afford in this economy.

It will sell 5M. That's only a small fraction of the xbox fanboys on twitter. Especially with the xbox mindset that next year is the year they're going to be full of (possibly) false hope that "this gen is the gen MS deliver". The same applied to the Series consoles. Much like it-it may not have very long legs, might crash and burn in later years with very few sales once the diehards fans have bought it near launch year or so. It will sell initially though and I suspect blow past 5M.

$799 if the ram apocalypse stops
$999 if not

There's no way MS will sell at razor blade model because that will kill 3rd party editions from the likes of Asus

With that spec, how much do you think this xbox hybrid? $1500? $2000? Or might be even $3000 base on market value and spec?

To be honest I don't follow Xbox news that much so I don't know about details of different versions.

Regardless, this will be much more expensive than PS6 and PS6 will be much more expensive than PS5.

Doubtful. PS5 Pro was $699 and used smaller APU and much less RAM (which was also cheaper back then).

AT LEAST 1000$, looks more looking at specs (1500?). PS6 alone looks close enough to 1k with specs it have, and they look far cheaper than what this thing will have.

Fair, however if you look at the credit card data, people are being forced to use their credit cards to survive. Even if you look at the consumer spending data in December, its flat. I don't know, maybe it will but, dropping $1500 to purchase a device is something you plan. It's not an impulse purchase.

No way. If we assume 30 million series consoles sold about half of that ist Series X, so people who care about power.

And of these 15 Million the vast majority was sold at the start of the gen for 500 bucks.

A 1000+ Xbox is dead in the water. No way around it.

I still believe the ps6 console will be $599. It will be well designed and will not rely on brute force but on proper game developmenr technics, tools, and AI. The pspnext, well I dont know the price estimate.

RAM alone is more than 300$ - estimates for PS6 based on current prices. If the want 30GB GDDR7 600$ console in 2027/2028 they will have to eat up some bigger losses on every unit sold (not PS3 levels but much more than PS4 and PS5)...
