Is it normal for my fan to be fairly noticeable?
Yep. It does get better the longer you play.

Has external drive support been improved? No patch notes addressing it but not seeing people whine about it as much...
I'm fucking done. Got on Sony Direct. Had a really great intial position (28 minutes). Got to the front of the line and my browser wouldn't redirect. Lost my position. Fuck this shit.
I gave up on that stuff a while ago. Really hate this situation to be honest.
EitherWere you looking for a disc or digital PS5?

I had that happen one day as well. I had a 12 minute wait, got to the front of the queue, and it just restarted the wait at over an hour.I'm fucking done. Got on Sony Direct. I kinda hope there would be no PRO consoles this generation..
These confuse everyone, separate the market and makes you buy more expensive console mid gen. The whole point of a console is to have this 1 device for the whole gen
At least, Sony was transparent and pretty clear with their message when they sold Pro. They also didn't fuck ps4 og in the process like MS did with One S.
I think it's just how these new high wattage electronics work. My 3080 founders edition buzzes in the rythm of frametimes. At 30fps it's like a super fast ticking clock and quite loud. At 60hz it's like buzzing... I dont hear it when gaming but it is loud. Can someone who can hear coil whine on devices please reassure me a PS5 without one exists?I'm on my third one and it was best yet but 60fps modes drive me crazy on Spiderman and Valhalla. 4th arranged but just worried I'm not trying for some impossible standard
. I don't mind a device making a whine as long as I cant hear it from my gaming position 7 feet away.

as for ps5 - I can't believe it will be worse than 3080 can it
it's really interesting if xsx really dont buzz. must use different filter/capacitorI want to play on Playstation but if Valhalla for example buzzes constantly or I can play complete silent on the Series X it pushes me to that console regardless of anything else. It's a shame as I'm heavily invested in the PS ecosystem. I'm going to keep trying for an acceptable unit.![]()

When do you guys see Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart releasing?

I could hear the whine on the old PS3 Slims, and my PS4 Pro had audible noise i could hear that others couldnt.
I've had my PS5 for a month now and it's been dead silent the whole time. I've gamed on it (disk and digital), and watched movies. I can play Demons Souls for hours and still hear nothing. If i get up and stand real close with my ear to it ill hear a faint fan noise, thats it.
How would you describe that fan base?
Like does it sound like it's buzzing or is it just the air that's being blown out?
I own a PC with a huge Noctua fan and I can only hear it spinning up close.
Just air, no buzzing
Can't confirm. I have two controllers and can play 12+ hours nonstop easy per controllerIs it just me or is the controller battery poor, now im only playing ps4 titles at the minuet but seems to die alot quicker than my dual shock ever died and i literally only game every couple of days or so so not on it all the time usually 2 or 3 hours a pop.
Symphony of the Night was never released under the new Classics program.Sorry for this necro bump but it seems to me like the "PSOne Classics" as they call them Sony was selling on PS3 are still available to download for the Ps5. For example I found Wild Arms 2 which is one of the only digital games I purchased back then and I can still download it from the PSN store right now.
However I cannot find Symphony of the Night the only other game I purchased digitally I believe. Is there a reason for this? Would they selective and what they brought back and continued support for? If I wanted to play that digital version I would have to start up the PlayStation 3? If so has Sony indicated why only some of these are playable on the PS5 and others are not?
I do see that there is a new version in some kind of double pack I could buy for $6 but I would rather just play the version I already bought 20 years ago or whatever.
Is there some other way to find the software that I'm just not privy to such as some kind of purchase history that would allow me to get it even if it's not for sale on the marketplace?
I see. Sort of. So for whatever reason they arbitrarily decided to carry Wild Arms 2 forward, but Symphony of the Night was not carried forward. Is that right, even though they were both part of the same "PSOne Classic" collection?Symphony of the Night was never released under the new Classics program.
PSOne Classics purchases only carry forward if the game in question has also saw a release as part of the new Classics Catalog.
You can buy Symphony of the Night on PS4/PS5 as part of the Castlevania Requiem collection.
They started from zero with the new Classics program in 2022 owing to the fact that it was a new emulator/development pipeline that they were working with on PS4/PS5 contrary to the PSOne Classics on PS3.I see. I did see that you could now buy another different Symphony of the Night.

Now, in regards as to why Symphony of the Night has not been a part of the new initiative, I'd guess it has something to do with licensing, as there's little to no incentive for Konami to sell the game for $10 (or give it for free to those who owned it on PS3), when they have a collection for sale at $20 that includes it.
