I'm not a Playstation guy, but if there's anything that made me want a Playstation 4 or 5 it was Blupoints remakes. The reception to this news is pretty strong.

Sony really fucked up with this. They should reverse this decision. They could have iced that mediocre Horizon Hunters game to continue to fund Blupoint. All they had to do was give them another game to remaster of which there are MANY Sony has neglected. It was like free money for these idiots.

I've heard that Bluepoint worked on their first original game instead of a port, remaster or remake and it could be that it didn't work out.
Even when the studio is small, with only 70 employees, is it possible that Sony invested in those 5 years 50 millions or much more.

The Demon's Souls Remake was good, but Bluepoint Games isn't Naughty Dog and not even Zipper Interactive.

But for any games (or TV/movies) that started writing and prep work to get greenlit past year or two, you'd think they'd clean it all up so when it launches in 2029 it's not stupid, cookie cutter or wokeish.... learn from your mistakes.

Worse generation by far and the lesson Sony has learned is they don't need that many first party games to rake in the cash. When is enough in terms of making billions for these big companies. Banks are the worst.

It's just funny that everyone chasing the Fortnite dream didn't bother to study how lucky Epic got with it. Save the World wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire and Battle Royale was added on a whim and then blew up. It's going to be almost impossible to replicate that type of success in the first place, doubly so if you consider how fortunate Epic got with dropping that mode into their game (props to them for being agile), and triply so when you see how fast games like Concord and Highguard are getting shut down after initial disappointing results. The top end of this industry needs to crash and burn and a lot of them are seemingly well on their way.

Gaas games are deliberately long drawn out experiences to keep a player invested with their time and money. It makes no sense to flip the script on a successful strategy they had and have several studios work on these things for the next generation.

You have to have something considerably better than the best of that genre to tempt players away from the one or two that they are already heavily invested in and even then, if your plan is to make several of these fucking things, how many do you expect to be successful in the long run?
