Do you consider moving from PlayStation to Xbox after Sony's recent string of failures?

Are you changing your primary console after the recent events?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Depends on how sooner Microsoft will release their next-gen hardware.

Sony's first party's output has been disastrous this gen, and ironically their console is partially relying on Microsoft's offerings to keep things interesting. Their focus on GaaS and closure of Bluepoint being the culmination of years of poor management decisions.

Taking in consideration the high probability of Microsoft releasing their next-gen hardware much sooner, the power of Gamepass(tm) and their more open ecosystem, would that convince you to switch sides after 2026 comes to an end?

lol, why would move from an almost dead to a full dead plataform ?

PC is the only true game machine and by the look of the industry and the focus on gaas, playing old games on emulators ll start to get stronger and stronger.

Unfortunately, PlayStation has no real competition. Xbox is a bad joke and remains a mega-corporation that closes studios and lays off thousands of employees practically every three months. They're all the same capitalist garbage.

Xbox is saved. Xbox will have huge spikes in sales. :/ Anytime now.

No chance. I've always purchased Xbox's as a side console. Same with Nintendo.

Certainly not replacing my PlayStation consoles with them. I also have a PC, so I get the best of both worlds.

There is no 'Xbox' to really move to. The next Xbox is just a PC with a fancy UI which plays Xbox backwards compatible games. And the Steam Machine is also a PC too.

So the real question is "will you move to PC?", and the answer to that is now 100% yes. Not like Sony aren't already balls deep in that market anyway if you really must play their latest studio killing live service slop.

Moving from one pile of #%*& to another?

Sony and Microsoft leadership have long doomed their future due to chasing trends, not developing their strengths, and truly relying on COD, Fortnite and sports titles to fix their annual issues!!

I also do not believe any of the leadership at either company understands what gamers want. Either older gamers, or younger gamers today. They are both just trying to push an agenda to appease shareholders.

My son of a bitch friend offered to trade his PS5 pro, Psvr2, and a box of his grandma's used underpants for my Series S. I'm like, "fool, PlayStation has no games. Unlike your grandma, who had a lot of game."

Xbox died for me last gen, PS this gen.
I moved from having a PC+ PS + Nintendo to PC only. I´m done with anemic hardware and closed systems. It´s just not worth it anymore if I can have 99.9% of everything I´m interested in on a singular open powerful system.

Why do some people take the console war a little too seriously?

And no. I'm deep into the PS ecosystem and have too many games tied to my PS account for me to even consider moving to Xbox.

Why on earth would you move over to Xbox? More so when Microsoft has thrown in the towel (akin to what Konami has done with the football genre..) when it comes to exclusive titles...

What has series s to do with next gen systems?

If PS6 is only one available (a very fair possibility), I will go with that.

Well you're talking about what people should do "if they can afford it".

Little do you know that there's far more than "Magnus vs PS6" (which in itself is silly considering they are unlikely to be in the same price bracket), that becomes a consideration when you're shopping in the $1500+ price category.

One of these days you'll start going door to door to leave pamphlets and try to convert people.

Hey now, it could be worth it, maybe they will send him a Series X.

I'm almost certainly done with Sony, but that doesn't make Microsoft any less worse or incompetent. I'm just going to (1) take my PS5 offline and jailbreak and/or mod it when the time comes, much like my Dreamcast, Wii, and PS4 and enjoy a bunch of retro games and (2) possibly buy a gaming PC in the next couple years for the couple modern games I want to play.

Ehhh… actually that would make a lot of sense to me. Sony isn't going to release any of the kind of games that made me fall in love with PlayStation in 1997. But I have a couple of problems:

The first one is that I don't know what their next box is. I won't buy a Windows box. Ever. No matter how trimmed down it is. So it has to be a console in some way.

The second and the most important one is that I can believe in their product but I know that Xbox isn't. They gave up 11 years ago when they announced GamePass and PC day 1 (that could only end with them like they are now). Who is going to compile to a rare Magnus console dev kit for the whole few millions that bet on that thing? Certainly some. But surely not all of them.

Even so if the box ends with no cathalog I could use it to play my favourite classic Xbox games at 4K 60 HDR, so it's even salvageable in my case in the worst and yet most possible outcome. But, I could do that with a pre-owned Series X as well…

Sony wont course-corret.. anyone clinging to this notion should check their brains.

Im jumping ship as soons as I see a decent powerful pc box for the living roon , dont care about the price.

And if Xbox solution is good so be it.

Having weak cheap console restrictions without the benefit of great exclusives is an absolute deal break for me, so P6/sony can go fuck itself to gaas heaven.
