It has been a great console for backwards compatible titles.

Yep, won it in a Pringles competition during COVID lockdowns and still my primary console and emulation box. Its a good piece of hardware that Microsoft badly managed.

Sold my X last year. I initially only wanted an S for Splinter Cell and Ninja Gaiden Black backwards compatibility, but saw an X on FB Marketplace for £200 back in 2022 and nabbed it.

I also posted it on there for resale and got no interest. Ended up selling it to CEX for near the same amount I paid.

Even tough I have a beefy PC which I could use for emulation, the Series X it is still the best way to play some 360 games.

Also some games like the Perfect Dark Remaster never made it to PC.

Had both an X and an S. I actually bought the X before the PS5. Sold them. Did you know Xbox has a proper native Jellyfin app, whereas Sony's pos device can't properly run Plex or Jellyfin clients?

Why would you use a games console for video streaming apps when you can use them via your smart TV directly.

Oh wow almost 150 ppl from here, thats crazy, u guys are all veteran hardcore gamers and got urself bamboozled by pinocchio phil so easily even this gen when ppl could see xbox failure from mile away :messenger_astonished:
I wonder if its same ppl who were using that "i believe in phil spencer" profile pic too back in the day, i remember in 2014 gaf had tens of those :P
If i was betting man i would say out of those 150 at least 100+ are americans/living in the US :messenger_sunglasses:

Voted for both options.

I have an Xbox Series controller which I use on my PC. Never owned either Series S or X. But at the same time everything's an Xbox.

I have one, got that smokin deal from Target 2 years ago for $350. Ostensibly, it's a pretty good console. MS addresses basically all the issues from the XB1 era, the hardware is better than PS5 in all aspects but storage.

Unfortunately it was still too late, Sony's dominance from last gen rolled right into this one, zero of my IRL friends have an XSX so it was just a gamepass machine for me until I cancelled and now it just plays OG Xbox and 360 discs along with some BC titles I own digitally

I have 2 Series X actually

One hooked up to my 65 inch oled & home theater (along with PS5 PRO) and another which is mostly for backwards compatibility hooked up to 42 inch qled in a spare room along with my PC and monitor.

Is it safe now to say that the Series X was well engineered? It's always been super reliable for me, Quick Resume is great, loading speeds are a dream and it's dead quiet.

I have been very disappointed by how noisy my PS5 Pro is by comparison.

Still have my Series X, but I have to be honest—so much "updating" happens when I try to play it that I haven't bothered in a long while.

You asked me what the purpose of this thread was sir all the extra stuff and how you feel about it is on you. People still seemed to get the memo in voting. But thanks for participating if you did.
Yeah I'm sorry about that mate, with the thread being multi vote allowed (wtf) I thought you were trolling. Too many xbox threads are glitching my brain lol

Have Series X, never use it, and a ps5 pro.
Also a win 7 pc with an old gtx980 and i5 4690k that gets turned on a few times a year for old stuff, connected to my living room tcl tv.

I don't have either. I wanted to want a Series X, but I genuinely had no reason to get one. Last Xbox I owned was an Xbox One before I ended up selling it.

I got a launch Series X, picked up a ps5 based on the hype a couple of years later.

Now I just have the series X and play on it practically every day - for me it's a great system and I have a back catalogue going back 3 generations.

Had a Series X. Sold it not long after, got a 2nd one for cheap and it's now just by BC machine. Don't have any games except for 360 games. And no I don't have gamepass and nor do I intend to. It hasn't been on for quite some time

There is a Series S in my house. Teenage kid's gamepass, Madden and Red Dead machine. Countless service hours.

I think this is the best use-case for Gamepass and Series S, but I never saw it marketed that way.

I didn't have much motivation to buy the Series X. I thought I was going to a few years back when Microsoft started absorbing Bethesda and all of that but then before I ended up buying one they went third-party basically. At that point I decided I would pick up the X toward the end of his life span when it became cheaper but then instead prices of consoles just went up. So I guess I'm destined to never have one but if I ever find a good deal on one I will get one just for the hell of it. I would like to have both models for different reasons. I did miss the boat on getting a cheap Series S several times but I couldn't justify it because it was a luxury purchase basically with no real intent.

Have my series X after like 3 months of coming out.
Never regretted, I always buy the big 3 consoles.....although next will definitely go with the combo of the new Xbox and and my Switch 2.

If of course, Microsoft will go with be console/pc hybrid way.....

As a console I freaking love it, too bad the exclusives becoming something like a unicorn.

I Have a Series S and I actually love it
Beautiful console but really badly managed
They should have given developers the choice not to port a game to S and it would have had a great games library anyway.

An excellent AA and Indie machine

I have an XSX boxed up in the closet. I bought it to play some Forza and Killer Instinct and after I played them for a bit, I put it away and haven't thought about it since.
