It looks solid with a varied combat system that interacts well with its' open world sandbox. I could see it getting a cult status of something like Just Cause 2.

I think it'll deliver. Honestly I'm just glad we're getting a solid looking SK game that isn't a fucking Soulslike if I'm being honest.

I'm hopeful that if the game is successful we start seeing South Korea and China up their game and start diversifying their single player offerings beyond Miyazaki clones

I say(or rather hope) solid 8 to 9/10 game depending how much u like this genre of games, ofc if some1 only likes gaas extraction shooters like men in boxes or all current sony HQ peeps- it will be terrible experience :D

Only thing I'm hesitant about is the story and writing. Hopefully it's decent.

In terms of the gameplay, there's a shit ton of features and mechanics… not all of them are gonna hit, but enough of them will which should help the gameplay deliver.

Graphics, tech, and scale are all obviously insane.

If it keeps me entertained for 20-30 hours, then it's a win!

I got sucked into the hype on this forum and will either ride into the sunset with you all, or will be playing the violin on the sinking ship.

I do know that the chatter will die down after 2 weeks of release, just like any other single player game on here. That always makes me sad 😢

I think anyone expecting this to deliver on the hype is on massive copium ngl.
Then again we've had some '' recent '' gems from Korea and China as of late in the West but those are rare exception and there's a million other examples that were hyped up to the high heavens and then were lame.

getting medieval on enemy asses for dozens of hours? there's likely always gonna be some kinda audience for that. the military aspects of the game are just unappealing to me personally...

I think it will deliver on the combat and a few other things. The story however has largely been missing from these trailers (we only get pieces of it), so my guess is that it's not going to deliver there. But they plan to reveal more before release time so maybe they're saving it for last.

I think it'll be a good game, like 80 metacritic or so but too many people are hyping it up and will be disappointed.

Sort of reminds me of Hogwarts Legacy.

Everything about the game seemed too good to be true, especially given the dev's history.

And then even as a Harry Potter hater, most of the hame was great.

So i'm expecting the same here, a great game which isn't amazing but millions still love.

Yep, for me the game will live or die based on this, and so far it is impossible to tell if it will be any good or not on this front. So it is a toss up.
If I had to put money on it I'd say it'll end up mediocre and generic. Could be one of those situations where they put so much effort into the world, features, and mechanics that the story and writing are somewhat neglected. Very happy to be proven wrong obviously.

The only thing that puts me off from pre release footage so far is the mechanical / future stuff, but otherwise it looks somewhat epic. The gameplay systems and fluidity seem out of this world. Every now and then a game comes along like that and spends the tea tables, well see if this is such an occasion soon. Eyes on it for sure, but not certain of anything.

I hope so, but we won't know until it's out, apart from option A, which no game ever lives up to the hype really, the option's left are a bit pessimistic lol

I legit do not see why people are so excited about this. I spent time today trying to watch videos and read previews and don't get it
Big ass, beautiful open world with lots of cool traversal and combat options and without any woke nonsense is already more than what most games can deliver nowadays. I wish it would be different.

Hopefully it'll deliver on most of it's mechanics and that the story dosen't suck (too much) ass.

Combat and movement looks fun as fuck in the promotional videos, so as long as it dosen't become a jank/stutter-fest I'd be suprised if that part turns out bad.

As for the gear upgrade, gathering, farming and exploration - it depends a bit on how grindy it is, and how fun said grind is. I've been known to enjoy making numbers go up as long as it's engaging and meaningful.

It's a bit of a dark horse as of yet, but I really want it to turn out great.

I just hope it delivers what Dragon's Dogma 2 failed to: a good and actually finished and feature-complete videogame. :goog_relieved:

All I want is fun combat and fun exploration with some challenge to it. Everything else is just a plus, and the game sure seems to have a ton of stuff packed into it.

Game confuses and impresses me the more trailers I see of it.

I'm assuming all the things it lets you do without micro-transactions will mean the game has some jank or lack of direction in some parts, but is a really fun sandbox at the very least. I'm wondering more if the story and scripted scenes will deliver though.

Not gonna get at launch though, cause backlog, and I think this broad will benefit from post-release patches.

Game looks amazing, I don't know why there's so much doubt when it essentially looks like a better Zelda BOTW/TOTK, running on more powerful systems than a Nintendo Switch.

If worse comes to worst and it's unoptimized it will eventually get patched like every other game in the last decade.

I'm going all in on the game. I think I've played a dozen games the last few weeks and nothing is really keeping my interest. Feel like I'm in a gaming rut. Maybe this will be the one.

I Hope Please GIF

It will be an incredible game recognized for its ambition and overall greatness by the community and internet. Mainstream media will downplay everything it does because its not made in Japan.

Will also be one of the best selling games of the year.

I've got a really good feeling about this one. In that predictions poll last year for 2026 here on the forum, I said this game would be a GOTY contender and I still believe it's gonna be one of the big surprises of the year.

I paid no attention to this game until the three recent trailers. After watching those, I am excited for it and I want it to be good but I also know that carefully produced trailers by companies who want you to buy their product and hours of raw gameplay on the user end are two different things. I'm not saying they're lying about the game; I just don't give anyone the benefit of the doubt anymore. I hope the reviews are positive and I will definitely buy if there is a solid game to be had on launch day. Until then, though...

As I've posted before

One of my top 5 most anticipated for 2026, hopefully it delivers because some it looks too good to be true.

If I were to bet where it underwhelms it would be in it's narrative, I don't expect anything close to Witcher 3 levels of story. I also anticipate some jank but honestly based on all the previews it does seem like it will live up to the hype, can't wait to experience it firsthand and come to my own conclusions.

Will fall apart in the narratives and characters stories. Also fail with the progression loop in their open world single player ambitions. Like how ff16 found it hard to transition from mmorpg backgrounds

It'll deliver to the people who wanted it. Sadly everyone else will probably glance over it or ignore it. IMO it could be very good, but there's almost zero hype around the plot or why the world exists in the first place. I feel like that's super important anymore for a game that wants to sell more than a couple million. Even if you don't give a rat's butt about the plot. It usually joins the hype. Gameplay could be a lot of fun, but it's coming out as a stand alone game. Lots of buyers are looking for a reason to care about the cast and whatnot. Even though I want it for the gameplay.

To be fair, 0 hype on plot is because there hasn't been a focus on it apart from the little pieces we've seen through trailers.

Them hiding it seems to be the biggest weakness to the game so far (if it is). They really wanted you to be focused on the combat so that you can forget all the other holes the game may have.

Still hyped though!

Just from the previews I've seen, there's enough there to keep me busy for quite a while. I'm 100% in. This looks like it could be the cure to my disappointment with DD2.
