Better blurry than Unreal Stuttering for PCMR

That's certainly a take LoL
Not at all. this is df take as well Unlocked fps all over the place is never a great experience and this sections with nothing going on. Df talked about in other RE games would be much better if they offered a locked option. Hopefully they offered a locked option for people that want a smoother experience

Resident Evil Requiem is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on Feb 27, 2026

A new era of survival horror arrives with Resident Evil Requiem, the latest and most immersive entry yet in the iconic Resident Evil series. Experience bone-chilling survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Both their journeys and unique gameplay styles will intertwine in an unforgettable, heart-stopping experience.

Something very curious going on here.

The ROG Ally, which is more powerful than the Steam Deck btw, completely shits the bed in the game. Even at 720p lowest settings with FSR upscaling(!) it is completely unplayable at framerates in the super low teens. Yet, Switch 2 handles it well at 60 FPS with some drops.

Either this is the craziest optimization that has ever optimized, or something else is going on. Perhaps the Lowest settings are far above Switch 2 settings? But that wouldn't make much sense in terms of scalability.

RT cores, according to some reviews the Switch 2 port uses the Raytracing capabilities of the hardware.

I can't see the performance on that site currently but why would it be a problem when reports are saying it's ok on steam deck

I absolutely get if someone is a Nintendo fan only, so there's nothing else to compare it to, obviously, you will get the Switch version no matter what. But I remember when I had Switch 1 and all these rave reviews for Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein on it. Yeah, they "ran" but even in handheld mode on that tiny screen, it looked muddy like ass, i mean it was blur bonanza. Just because a game can run on a system doesn't always mean it should.

that's how handhelds worked since the dawn of time tho.
Mortal Kombat on GameBoy was an insane shit show... (the second one was kinda decent tho), or even SMB Deluxe on GBC was very compromised due to the resolution difference meaning you couldn't see shit.
Doom on GBA was also far from perfect, and then there were really ambitious but ultimately awful ports like Driver 2 on GBA as well.

at least nowadays the compromises aren't as massive anymore as they often were back then.

Its sad RE games on NS2 are all key cards. They're all good versions and I wouldn't mind double dipping if there was an actual, physical Game in there. Sigh

People should be happy, for once, that a new AAA game is available for all to enjoy, but instead we have platform warring, even at the best of times (for the game).

Sadly, some people just can't accept the fact that a Nintendo hybrid console is having this kind of results. I am double dipping, PC and Switch 2.

Feel exactly the same. I'll still get them, but wait for 5 dollars and pop or so as opposed to much sooner if real physical versions had existed.

game is 40-60fps and looks like its being streamed with how low resolution it is, best to play it on other consoles.

Eeew... why would you do that to yourself? Imagine playing third party games exclusively on the Switch 2 *runs for barfing bag*

yea no one compared them yet and most likely won't be.

Come On What GIF by MOODMAN

WTF is that, little victimhood play here? Why would it not be compared at least a dozen times and by DF like almost every single switch 2 games that are pushing the envelope

But nice little concern trolling before with you just want peoples to best experience this masterpiece

So never play games on consoles, always PC 👍

I want people to experience this masterpiece properly.
You seriously think people with a PS5 or a decent PC are going to buy this for the Switch 2 just to 'experience this masterpiece properly'?

If they do, they're probably already aware of the Switch 2's limitations.

You're just here pushing your agenda and poisoning another thread

It's great that Switch 2 owners get a decent version of this game. This could certainly remain one of the best experience on the console until the end of its lifespan.
