Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

I am surprised how well the game runs with ray tracing for me wasn't expecting to be able to have it on, playing on a 6700xt.
Granted I have to use framegen but I don't feel the effects of it at all, getting 100 fps around there.
I have extremely shitty and old DDR4 4 sticks 16gb in total running at 2666mhz lmao.

I haven't read any other posts because I am afraid of spoilers but so far I really like what I have played. I also love the way dualsense is used. So happy to have a third-person view with RE games again. I so missed it.

the thing about this game I was worried about is happening the girl sections are kind of lame and Leon sections are Peak

So far Leon's sequences are 100% action with the girl's sequences being much more exploration and item based.
I'm still in the early game, but I definitely hope they expand the Leon stuff as it stretches on.

It's vewy scawy.

QQ: I've chosen the modern option. Does the game save automatically, or do I still need to use typewriters? I've just used the first one that I found during Grace's 2nd part.

I think both, but not sure because I'm on classic. Which is also both.. but less maybe.

Refunded the PC version for now. The film grain is atrocious.

Also Alan Wake 2 looks much better, not really that impressed overall. Maxed out Pathtracing with 5090.

Not yet, but honestly I dont know what that guy is smoking, the game looks incredible
I usually disable film grain first thing, but it's not a deal breaker.

I used to like the effect in the past to mask bad graphic, now i just prefer clean iq.

I dunno why devs do this?
It's not like I am noticing but it's still odd to me.
Instantly pisses me off, just like The Crew Motorstorm. But, like that game, I guess I'll just have to grin and bear it. But I am pissed off..

..And I don't think I should have started a fresh playthrough as lady dimitrescu, either..

I'll restart me thinks 👀

I will say one thing..

Is this an indictment of an FBI agent in modern times? Five minutes in and this girl is going to shit herself if someone sneezed wrong?

Scully and Clarice would be fuming :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Got the game, but I thought it would come with the dope sleeve since it was a pre-order.

It didn't.

EDIT: Nevermind, I bought the normal edition, not the lenticular :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I've only played the first sequence as Leon so maybe they do this later in the game, but this game just reaffirms how well they balanced the knife in 4remake. I figured when I had to sharpen the hatchet that surely the sharpening stone is a consumable resources so you can't just do it freely which would defeat the purpose of durability, but when I checked the inventory I didn't see anything confirming that it's an exhaustible resource. Maybe some of you will disagree, but after using the hatchet in all the different ways you can on enemies, it feels like they balanced it by simply making it less effective than the knife in 4 remake since they've removed the balancing mechanic of durability being a thing.

Hatchet feels stronger to me especially heavy attacks that stagger enemies easily.

Alan Wake 2 wants to be a movie and not a game though. I dropped that shit on the second time you play as Saga to play this instead.

Ok, I'm loving everything so far but Grace's constant "wowowo whahah whewhewhe" stutter is grating, lol.

ACG was definitely right about Grace's running speed, even compared to the other RE Engine games her run speed is especially slow, it's like watching someone do the motion of a fast jog but still move just slightly faster than walking speed.

Grace has to be the weakest person in the universe tho ngl lol, why is she struggling to push a lamp or a cart with like one jacket on it :messenger_anxious:.
Are you okay Grace?

I love the dainty, snail's pace run. You'd think being chased by various horrors would put a lil pep in her step.
The constant gasping and wheezing is a bit much.

You guys are being too hard on Grace. Rookie Leon was not the ultimate Leon we see in this game.
She's a desk agent, she gets a bit better by the end of the game. I'm sure if she appears in the future, she'll be more confident and strong.
Grace and Victor are great characters.

So I've only played the first 2 sections and then like 10 minutes more to the first typewriter and I am not that excited about it so far.

I HATE Grace already, like I knew I would from the trailers. A fucking FBI agent who acts younger and more immature than Ashley from 4. Her constant damn weeb moaning and noise making every 2 seconds does my head in and I wouldn't be shocked if she actually starts shouting "Nani!' at some point. (I understand her being nervous and traumatised going back to where her mums thing happened, but her jumpy horseshit behaviour happens in the very first scene in the FBI office.)

As for the game, it seems very blurry to me for some reason. I have depth of field and all that turned off, most setting are on high or slightly lower, path tracing, frame gen x2, and DLSS switching between balanced and performance as quality and DLAA made the frame rate too low for my personal liking (Playing in 32:9 at 5120x1440p)

The game also has this weird shimmering (think it's either assosiated with DLSS or frame gen or both), random white outlines on characters for a frame or 2, glass looking like it has rain falling on it and when I shine my torch on it, the texture is missing, then blurry, then pops in after about 1+ second. It had been too obvious to ignore for me, which sucks.

It makes sense for the horror parts, I kinda hated how Ethan was rambo.
I still can't get over how inhumanly weak she is physically tho lol, pushing a lamp must take like less than a kilo of pressure or something :messenger_tears_of_joy: .

I like how scared Grace is tho it's how an actual normal person would act a FBI agent included.

Sheit man, I can't believe Capcom finally fixed RE Engines HDR on PC. I just tested all possible setting and unlike RE3 +4 Remake (which look by far best with HDR off and color space rec.709), Requiem actually delivers with HDR.

Took em long enough. Game looks and runs pretty awesome so far. Not blowing RE4 Remake out of the water though.

Does anyone for sure know how to trigger the parry shot that blows up their heads? It seems like you aim at them and shoot right as they're about to grab you, but I can't be sure.
