I will never stop finding funny that the defective Ditto from the anime that was unable to perfectly mimic faces became the standard for all Dittos in media

I'm a rune factory guy cause I enjoy the RPG and simulation elements combined. Good mix of both to keep things interesting, but I've always wanted to try dragon quest builders 1 and 2 and might do so once I get through some of my backlog. I'm a dragon quest fan in general so anything dragon quest related i'm down for.
 
I love the Dragon Quest Builders games, so I was sold the moment they first showed this off. Good to see they haven't lost their touch, my copy is already pre-ordered for the end of the week. I need something new ro play on my Switch 2, haven't touched it since Z-A and MP4 were massive disappointments for me last year.

I legitimately loved the anime growing up and actually got the 1st Pokémon anime on vhs still completed lol. I used to watch them as a kid because they'd air a new episode often and usually during the mornings before school.

I only played DQB2 on Game Pass (eventually bought it on Steam) and enjoyed my short time with it. I wasn't really a DQ fan at the time.

Since then, I've beaten a few of them and would appreciate DQB2 so much more! Makes me wanna try it again 🙂

I actually didn't know Omega Force developed the Dragon Quest Builders 2 until this thread lol... but I really enjoyed that game. Such a cozy experience.

Omega Force are dope ass devs IMO tho. They know how to make games that tickle my brain. Hard to explain.

Same… I don't like Minecraft at all but i like DQ Builders, now this game is on my radar.

lol, for sure! It's no wonder this is reviewing so well. Had I known about this earlier, I would've been more hyped from the get go.

Never a bad thing to have a cozy game on hand. Still not a fan of the main character design, but it's also supposed to be Ditto, so I get it.

Running around a chill world with a bunch of Pokémon in it, along with the DQB2 mechanics would probably be more than enough for me.

Any predictions for sales? Pokemon is the most valuable IP in the world and the games have sold well despite being shit for a very long time. Now we have an actual good game using the IP. But limited userbase at the moment.

I don't get it. To me it looks like a very limited Animal Crossing kind of game with Pokemon.

But who am I to judge, if it helps the franchise, all the power to Nintendo!
 
9s from Gamespot and IGN - high praise indeed.

Probably not rocket science - the game looks skewed towards kids who like Pokemon, Minecraft or Animal Crossing - there must be shitloads of them.

Switch 2 exclusive too, so it is Nintendo slowly starting to force their user base across. With how hot Pokemon are right now, they could release a bundle, limited edition controller etc etc and make a fortune. It has the broad appeal to kids that arguably the rpg games do not have.

I can't believe how much Nintendo is winning even though outside Mario Kart they're (deliberately) just coming out with second tier releases so far, like Donkey Kong instead of Mario, this thing instead of Animal Crossing, Kirby's kart game, etc. I can't wait for the big hitters to start showing up too.

The limited userbase might slow it down at the start, but I wouldnt be surprised to see the spinoff hitting 12M to 20M at the end of the SW2 gen, it can be a good evergreen
 
Got this for my kids birthday next week. My only complaint is that I couldn't keep the digital copy off the Switch 2 and get the preorder bonus. No way I am not getting even the stupidest bonus. I am sure both kids are going to be fighting over the Switch 2 for the next few weeks.
 
This is not mainline Pokemon, don't expect it to automatically become Animal Crossing, it might not translate into the life sim market as we assume. And there are so few Switch 2's out there, so it's gonna be a slow burn either way.

Damn haven't played in years so i even forgot how ladders look.

Thats what i found online:
A minimum of three days must pass before you can unlock the ladder.
Build a house, build Nook's Cranny, and build your first bridge to unlock the recipe.
Tom Nook will send you the recipe electronically, or you can purchase it from Nook's Cranny for 500 Bells.

Had a $10 Best Buy certificate that was about to expire, and they threw in a free tote bag. Sucks a big dick that it's a game key card, but I feel like this will be a game that my wife will want to probably play 1,000 hours of (she loves Pokemon and Animal Crossing) so it is what it is.

When I saw GKC you came to mind!

My wife also loves Pokemon and Animal Crossing, so it was an insta-buy when I saw the great reviews.

I didn't think I'd be interested myself, but damn I was sold when I saw who made it. If anything, at least I can play with her a bit, which we both enjoy 🙂
