competitive tcgs are casual deck builders now? And dota underlords is something completely different. There's a lot more in the 40-60k region, which is a little less than Marathon but I think is where it will settle after launch weekend. I would also guess many (eg Balatro) have a majority share on mobile vs Steam. The StS 2 numbers are just DUMMY thiccc though, 430k? jfc
- Yugioh master duel (262k)
- DOTA underlords (200k)
- Prismata (122k)
- Shadowverse (120k)
- Artifact (60k)
- StS 1 (60k)
They used to know that, then some idiots at the top changed their minds and tried forcing what they want.Maybe this is the moment Sony will realise that success comes from making games we want to play rather than games that they want us to play.
That's asking for too much though obviously.
Even more is this is supposed to be the honeymoon phase, nobody at bungie or Sony could be happy with this I mean outside of the kumbaya we made it type mentality this is pretty underwhelming.
Like let's frame it like this if 4 or 500k people were eating this up I would maybe have to rethink my stance and power thru some of the stuff I don't like to try and find the love, but man these numbers are pretty hurtin
What about Spanish reviews?Marathon seems to be reviewing well on Steam. 91% of the reviews in my language are positive.
I don't know why don't you tell me? Just sharing what the Steam client shows when you hover over the rating. What about Spanish reviews?
I just sorted steamdb by genre "card game"competitive tcgs are casual deck builders now? And dota underlords is something completely different.
But we werent talking about card games. We were talking about casual deck builders.I just sorted steamdb by genre "card game"
Sony can go pound sand too. Remember when we would get games that had a great singleplayer and the multiplayer was the cherry on top of the sundae? The game can both be great but also a complete waste of time and energy due to the saturation of the market it's attempting to thrive in. Destiny was unique, Marathon is not. Marathon won't even come close to recupirating its development cost.

This is the bit I don't get.
Why spend so much time and effort making a game with such a high barrier to enjoyment.
It's obviously great fun for skilled, organised groups. But casuals can go kick rocks.
It's weird that they dropped the Last of Us Online when that was the one title that could have continued that trend. If it was because Naughty Dog didn't have the resource for a GaaS they could have brought in Bluepoint or another dev to support it.Sony can go pound sand too. My PS5 is basically a way for me to continue my physical library. Astro Bot is the only first party game that has impressed me in 5 years.
Why does talking about player numbers bother you so much?Or spent 16 pages arguing about CCU numbers and then lamenting the industry for always chasing trends.
This is the bit I don't get.

Bro I really don't give a fuck I was just looking for card games to satiate your questionBut we werent talking about card games. We were talking about casual deck builders.
It's like arguing that shooter roguelikes do better numbers than rpgs and then just sort by fps and use csgo and apex legends as examples.
This is the bit I don't get.

You have to remember that half of that "community" or the Marathong mob as i call them, was in the arc OT trying to provoke people to be critical about Marathong, comparing Arc with marathong and what marathong can do better then arc. And now they want theire OT to be safeheaven, thoose are people with dubblefucking standards and are absolutly not worth listen to. They even said: Lets go over to one of the Marathong threads(this was before the OT Existed) before we get banned or something. Why does talking about player numbers bother you so much?
Same. You know things aren't going well when they're pushing it like this. I can't recall this ever happening with any other game. Literally forced on us before we can even get to the home screen.
I suspect that most of the owners are people who played the server slam and liked it enough to buy it at release. So I'm not sure how much you can read into that #Player count isn't great for live service, but 87% positive user reviews is damn impressive, I have to say.
This may turn into a "word of mouth" hit.
Either way, this ain't concord comparable. Time to put that to bed.
If pointing out hypocrisy when I see it means that I'm bothered, sure! Why does talking about player numbers bother you so much?

Fair pointI wonder how much of that can be attributed to the public test weekends the game has had. Players who didn't like it (but thought they might) haven't returned, and those who did returned and left a review.

The big question is how many remain in game in a week and if new players bite. So far the latter doesn't seem like it's happening.I suspect that most of the owners are people who played the server slam and liked it enough to buy it at release. So I'm not sure how much you can read into that #
yes the fans are very defensive on this one. could it be because it really is a good game or have they just made it part of their personality? You have to remember that half of that "community" or the Marathong mob as i call them, was in the arc OT trying to provoke people to be critical about Marathong, comparing Arc with marathong and what marathong can do better then arc. Nah it's still weird loser behavior, no matter how someone tries to justify it.I think it's wild the people that don't seem to understand the idea behind wishing failure on a game... I'm not going into the OT for this just carrying over the notion but everyone wishes some type of failure in life, it's not anything new... I mean don't we all with sports wish for other teams to fail? I wanted mahomes and chiefs to fail to get new blood in the superbowl, what's the difference? It doesn't hurt the sport, and my wishing failure doesn't hurt anyone it's my own stance
Someone said it's weird to wish failure on a game, I think it's weird to be so attached emotionally to a game that someone can't handle people having their reasons why they want something to fail.. I hate extraction, I don't want anymore. Do I realize more will come? Sure... But to slow the pace some failures I hope happen. Its merely a point of view, it doesn't affect anyone that loves extraction. Just as those individuals want more, whether they get more or not it's up to the gaming world... Whatever comes down the pike comes down the pike, but we can all have opinions.
Then there's work ethics and morals that sometimes people include in their dislike etc. It all is just how we're wired.
The biggest thing I feel we see tho is alot of personalities that think if you don't like what they like, then you're the problem, you're crazy because how could you NOT like the same game they do and how could you even ever wish it to fail? That's to me what is prevalent and the new wave of thinking.
Anyways just ramblin
Its some in that community that are a bit special for sure, they are really fast calling people retarded and everyone gets called a hater if one dosent like it or find the game to be kinda ok but nothing more.yes the fans are very defensive on this one. could it be because it really is a good game or have they just made it part of their personality?![]()

You see the Xbox of old would've done something like this:
Yeah, it looks like a well made game although not one for me unfortunately. It may be one that grows with time but it'll have to go FTP to get the numbers and Bungie to keep releasing new maps.Had a fantastic first night playing last night. Went to bed at 2am. Game is really good if you enjoy this sort of thing. I understand it's not going to be for everyone but the dog piling is embarrassing.
Nah it's still weird loser behavior, no matter how someone tries to justify it.
It was already doomed to begin with, the buzz around it was negative almost from the moment it was announcedMan, if it somehow does worse on its first Friday than on its fist Thursday, this game is doomed.
Now at 67k. Hasnt budged since 3 pm EST.
In about an hour is when USA east coast (and central too) time zones really increase the CCUs (assuming it's a USA time zone skewed game). Peak timing would be around 8-11 pm. EST time zone also latches on Canada's biggest populations of Toronto and Montreal.
So we'll see how much CCU goes up or down till midnight. These are the top played games under 100k now. I'm thinking it edges up to about 80k.
