What game are you currently playing?

I finally decided to commit to beating Tears of the Kingdom. Started a fresh save a couple weeks ago on my Switch 2. I'm hoping to beat it tonight or tomorrow as it seems like I'm reaching endgame.
It's phenomenal.

It's been great so far, by WoW standards. Remade Silvermoon is a really cool city. They revisit a fair amount of old content through the campaign (mostly Arator questline) which is a nice change of pace to not treat the world as content that no longer exists in a new expansion.

Dungeons: Good boss fights. Good aesthetics. Arguably too many trash mobs. Will see how this pans out when the season starts

PvP: Feels good right now, besides disc priests early on seem unstoppable. I main feral, which seems to be in a good space. I'm enjoying it. Awaiting the season start changes to see how that skews.

Open world: Between world quests, prey, events and delves it feels like there's a lot to do

Pretty much every system feels at the peak of what it's been. A lot to do. Downside is that comes with more progres bars to track and more currencies to be maintained

Think I'm going to pick it up next month. I play solo and have done for quite a while, so hearing that there's plenty of stuff to do on my own is what I wanted to hear. Love delves and I'm glad they didn't remove them.

Slay the Spire 2 since last night. For anyone interested, I just bought "Poker Night at the Inventory" on Steam. I've wanted to buy this game and Poker Night 2 for ages. I still play Poker Night at the Inventory 2 on my PS3 now and again. Hopefully they'll bring back part two on steam.

I'm into July in Persona 3 Reload. Thought Tartarus was going to totally suck, but it's not bad so far. The floors go pretty quick. Enjoying the characters and story thus far. Social links are a bit less interesting for me than P5R but the game is really hitting the spot for me now.

Went back to Armored Core VI and replayed a few arena missions and then fought AAP07: BALTEUS to see how I would do. I fought him back before he got patched, back when all his missiles tracked. He wasn't that bad even with a few moments where I'd foolishly dash in for no good reason. The game is a lot of fun. Played a bunch of Dynasty Warriors Origins. Swapped spear for sword, conquered a few big battles, and have zero clue about the actual plot. Idk anyone who follows the actual plot to DW games.

I only finished two bosses in BOTW….and now I've got it on Switch2 and a giant backlog of other switch2 games, including DKB!

Finally free for this game

Started playing Ys Seven on the Steam Kek. So far pretty happy with the game, it looks really charming with it's low poly graphics, the music is the usual Falcom electric-guitar kino bangers and the first boss left me with a thumb pain, which is what I expect from those games lol.

Speaking of that first boss fight, it sure was a challenge! I'm playing on hard and only managed to beat it after 5 or 6 tries. Pretty nice fight, the boss has a lot of different moves and the way the camera sways with some of them makes for some cool effects.

So far very cool game, can't wait to play more tonight.

Arrived at a certain location in RE Requiem and it was certainly a nice surprise. I was thinking to myself that maybe it will show up, considering the area you are exploring (which in itself was also a great surprise) but I kept expectations low anyway. This is the very reason why I try to go in blind as much as I can with games I'm hyped for. Spoiling this would ruin much of the impact this scene had on me.

Finished Resident Evil Requiem. Probably the best RE since 4. Incredible game. The dual protagonist set up was expertly paced and made for a well varied adventure, that blended first and third person perspectives in a very natural way. The horror was excellent, as was the action, with lots of cool set pieces, terrifying enemies and interesting villains. The best thing however was the story. It had some jaw dropping revelations that will have massive impact on the franchise going forward. It took RE into a new and exciting future, something I didn't think was possible, considering Capcom has recycled much of the same story beats and tropes for three decades now. Capcom definitely cooked with this entry. It's straight up GOTY material.

I played on Switch 2 and it was a terrific port. Graphics were fantastic and I sometimes had to pinch my arm because I couldn't believe the level of fidelity that was achieved here. Characters and environments look spectacular, especially in handheld mode and it's all achieved at 60fps. It's a true next gen show piece for the system and the fact that it comes not even a year into the Switch 2s lifespan is a great sign of things to come.

I really need a video series of someone breaking down all of the combat and all of the enemies in Sekiro. I have bounced off this game sooo many times, but it is still one of the very few the modern action games that I keep coming back to.

I need detailed explanations of all the various scenarios and enemies. I get good at absolutely dominating trash mobs, and then the first General shits on me. I cheese my way through him and do myself a great disservice in the process. I spent way too long chip-damaging Madame Butterfly. I got to some monk guys and that was a shitshow. I made it as far as a castle once, and the fast guys on the rooftops just embarrassed me.

I love the graphics, characters, story, dialogue, art design, traversal, controls and gameplay, etc., but I cannot for the life of me ever get a grip on it. I am desperate to play a video game and I am bouncing off of everything again. This is one of the few games that my brain will not let go of.

Dude you are tearing through games. If you aren't already in the 52 games in 52 weeks thread, you should be.

That game is brutal, i gave up at the monkey asshole.

Maybe one day i will try again, when AI replaces me at my job. 😂

Wrapping up Claire B route in RE2R. Started Plague Tale Innocence yesterday, I saw a long play years ago but I forgot everything, I'm excited to get Requiem (Plague Tale, not Resident Evil) afterwards together with starting RE4R after I finish the previous one.

Dark Souls III (Xbox Series X backward compatible) - I already beat this on PS4 a number of years ago, but had an itch to fire up my copy of the Fire Fades Edition from the Dark Souls Trilogy pack I got for Xbox last year. I have to say, after platinuming Elden Ring I feel like a pro gamer in some of these boss battles now.

Having an absolute blast with a pure dexterity build, +9 Sharp Sellsword Twinblades. I'm in the Grand Archives now. I played Dark Souls Remastered (Switch) for a bit on Saturday but DS3 has just aged better in the gameplay department. Tons of fun.

Yakuza Kiwami

Chapter 5, I don't know what to do, I keep seeing Majima in front of the Millenium tower looking for weapons, which I don't have, but nothing else happens
