She looks much better with DLSS 5. Don't see where the issue is.
Don't want it? Don't use it.
There's no reason to use this over DLSS 4.5. It destroys the game's visual identity and it's clearly extremely demanding hardware wise.
It looks like dogwater
I agree with you both. I'm a little bummed at these replies. This tech is absolutely fucking incredible, like holy fucking shit. Whoever coined the term "AI slop" has set us back a decade. I can't wait until that's finally out of use. It's such a stupid, lazy, luddite response.

To me, this is adding stuff that was never on a computer at Capcom.
They haven't set anything back. This will have a AMD analog in FSR "diamond" on Helix and whatever the dumb marketing name is AMD cooks for PS6, I cannot wait for those threads.I agree with you both. This outrage will fade as well. People took to fake resolution, then fake frames, fake lighting or fake pathing is the next step.
And the second looks like a very tastless Nexus mod made with stolen assets (the very basis of modern 'AI').The first image is so flat and pale it's unreal - she looks like a porcelain doll.
DLSS up until 4.5 has been known to boost performance, letting you run the game at higher frame rates. Now, all of a sudden, the new version throws in neural rendering and the demo requires two RTX 5090's. That's going in the opposite direction. Keep doing your job and shill away, but I'll wait and see.Who said it would be free? Obviously it's going to have an impact. All of the nvidia AI shit has an impact.
Sure sure it's only the lightning bro, nevermind the face is totally different
Jesus fcking cucking christ am I taking crazy pills here or what
Not sure, sounds like they'd be doubling up on duties? But I could be wrong, not sure how this works.I would imagine that rt is used for the lighting vectors to be used to apply. It has to know where the sources are, right?
So you think this tech swaps out assets? What assets are being swapped?Completely different techs
DLSS as in SUPER RESOLUTION is basically a performance helper. A Super Sampling technique with lower computational costs
Here you are literally changing gaming assets on the fly
What makes you think it will only be lighting on next gen consoles? And this isn't just lighting.
There's no way you can prefer the first image from this comparison

It's the SAME MODEL!
It's just lit realistically now!
It looks AI slop (cliche alert) because the model is very generically pretty young woman and fundamentally uncanny. That's the dissonance you're experiencing. But fundamentally the tech is superb.
I agree with this.Because Nvidia is training it. They have artists, but they aren't an art-first company. The tech needs to get in the hands of devs. Nvidia needs to play their cards right and give developers full control of model training. Otherwise this thing is dead in the water and will be used only by indie cash-grab devs that want maximum photorealism for little effort.
But if they do it right, this could be a game changer.
Me either, should be interesting the next few months as we see more about whats going on.Not sure, sounds like they'd be doubling up on duties? But I could be wrong, not sure how this works.
Funny enough, I saw that picture on Twitter and it had nothing to do with this Nvidia bullshit, I just added the "DLSS 5 On" cause it felt like the wrong thing to do.Oh no no no no

Hire DLSS 5 LOLStar Wars Outlaws needs this

It is though. The lighting and shadows are much deeper in the dlss 5 versions, so features are going to be more apparent and have more contrast.Sure that's why she has lip filter now
Got it bruh
You're fucking hilarious. It's not the same face.

When it doesn't touch character models it looks great IMO. It's gonna be case by case basis and only improve. And it's gonna take an enormous amount of VRAM to accomplish so idk what their plan is.

At this stage Id hazard a guess it is for keeping codebases, maybe even updates separate while in demo mode. But thats just speculation. As of now it's coming in 50xx series cards in Fall. We will just have to wait. The whole point of DLSS is to upscale games so they perform better.
Sure, if it's not demanding like Nvidia is saying (which I doubt it) then there's no reason not to try it out.
But the fact that they needed two RTX 5090 for this demo just tells me this is pointless as a DLSS technology, and more like Path Tracing, it's not DLSS. It should have been named something else.
The hint of the flashlight lighting her face is gone. There's no way you can prefer the first image from this comparison

Never said swap, I said change....
They take the input assets and change them on the fly according to the trained model
Plumbed into game engines in a similar way to DLSS super resolution and frame generation, the DLSS 5 lighting model uses just colour information and motion vectors to deliver photo-realistic imagery. Nvidia says the core goal is to enable developers to achieve the artistic vision desired by game creators limited by the technological limits of today's hardware. While lighting is radically revamped, all geometry, texture assets and materials remain as they were in the original game - but the effect can be astonishing.
You haven't noticed AMD pimping "neural rendering" at every opportunity when making these fsr and helix/sony marketing videos? You think next gen console will use something similar?
Sure that's why she has lip filter now

And nvidia will be the gatekeeper and overlord that everyone will have to conform too.I don't think it will stop here... gradually the future is clearly bending towards a pipeline where the game engine itself maintains very low-fidelity rendering to maintain game consistency and control, but all the details and aesthetics migrate to an ML layer on top. The former will keep shrinking, the latter will keep growing.
Better question is why are you? You have been on the attack all thread to multiple individuals. Its clearly the same model. If you aren't able to spot the differences and why they are there then I don't know what to tell you. The model is unaltered. As I posted to you from before this is directly from NVIDIA.Why are you trying to gaslight us when it's really clear to everybody the face is different.
FFS are you really this stupid? It's EXACTLY THE SAME MODEL. EXACTLY. This tech doesn't filter anything, doesn't change anything, except enhancing the lighting. That's what the game model looks like when lit with CG quality! Understand?
It's a different mouth, bro.
