This really isn't that difficult. If you can play it on PC, it's not exclusive to Xbox. So, an Xbox exclusive is a game you can only play on Xbox. This actually makes me wonder. What is an exclusive for Xbox?
I mean Xbox games always got its PC releases. Do they count as exclusives too?
Or you're talking about the exclusive to Xbox console as what PS5 is going back to.
It's unlikely they gonna listen to user input though..
You're not wrong, but we were barely getting exclusives before the multi platform push anyway. Last time we were eating good was around XB1 launch window. After that, exclusives were pretty few and far between aside from the nearly annual Forza games. If these people really like Microsoft games, they should be careful wishing for exclusives. Xbox is not going to out PlayStation the PlayStation. Xbox exclusives would just ensure less investment in Xbox games
That's true, they weren't selling consoles when they had them though that's why they are no longer exclusive in the first place. That and the huge amount of money they spent buying multiplatform publishers to feed gamepass. The only reason Bethesda and Activision were worth what they were is because they are multiplatform, taking those games off of other platform drastically reduces the value of each.
At this point, paying to play online is a non-factor for the mass market. Far too many people are ok with paying to play online; the subscription services offer a lot more than just multiplayer gaming, so the value proposition is pretty strong. Kinda sneaky how these companies 'dressed up' their pay-to-play mandate. It's too late now, but I wonder if making online play free would have changed anything for Xbox. It would have for me, but it doesn't feel like something that is important enough for the masses to influence their console choice![]()
Exclusives are the opposite of competition. All you do is artificially cutting off any competition and forcing anyone to play a certain game on a certain platform. Real competition would be releasing a game everywhere and letting the customer decide where he wants to play.Exclusives, without question. Competition is healthy for the industry.
Console fanboys really are the most braindead people on the planet. Imagine asking companies to artificially restrict their products so you are forced to buy multiple redundant boxes.
Not saying they necessarily think this far, but without exclusives Xbox will die, and the fanboys probably don't want that.Console fanboys really are the most braindead people on the planet. You're right, Sony or Nintendo could have easily done so as well.If MS was wise, they could have made a deal to at least make it xbox console exclusive. Subnautica 2 will still launch on ps5 soon Well my point is business strategy.

You can play Age of Empires 2 or whatever on SteamOS so that's not even true anymore.Because some people seem to believe that since the Windows is a Microsoft platform, PC release is still considered as Xbox exclusive. lol
Most are probably Xbox diehards who just want to stick it to PlayStation. The fact is, this is all just PR. I highly doubt Asha has any kind of real decision making power and is just the new face of the Xbox PR machine.Console fanboys really are the most braindead people on the planet. If they don't make actual exclusives on Xbox… I don't even know what the point is of releasing another Xbox. Just go full third party and be done with it.Most are probably Xbox diehards who just want to stick it to PlayStation. The fact is, this is all just PR. Exclusives are not coming back to Xbox. They will always be on PC. And when it comes to other consoles, they already let that cat out of the bag. And they're seeing to much success on PlayStation, and probably Nintendo, to go back to restricting it to just their console. Especially when the Nexbox is probably going to be $1200+ and sell even less than the Series.
Well, they haven't been making smart decisions for awhile now. That's what's got them in the mess they've been in for over a decade. New expensive HW will just be another poor decision to add to the list. They're in a feedback loop with their diehard fans that praise any decision. Even if their decision was to reverse a previous decision that the diehards also praised. If they don't make actual exclusives on Xbox… I don't even know what the point is of releasing another Xbox. Jokes on you, tophy™ is the ancient monkey in that gif...

"XBOX was built off of great game exclusives, you cannot sell any consoles without a reason to buy the console compared to your competition or even sending your tentpole games over to your competitor. BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!!!" reads the thread with the most votes so far (6,319). The comments within it are similarly vociferous. "If you really care about Xbox, you have to bring back exclusives," one person said. "Xbox needs to have its exclusive games to differentiate itself from the competition. Exclusives work for Sony and Nintendo, so why would it be different for Xbox?" Another added: "Exclusive content and features (hardware or otherwise) make a platform stand out in comparison to the competition. Without those, why would anyone get into the XBOX platform and not other, more popular ones? Right now XBOX simply doesn't stand out from the competition."
