Actually, my worst Bucs memory is still Todd McClure completely whiffing on Brooks coming up the middle, and Dunn losing the ball on a handoff on our side of the field when we were down by less than a FG.

But feel free to live in the Chucky Era!

After 02 the Chucky Era is nothing but disappointments and vague memories of a game that never happened.

I still miss his histrionics. The Mora/Chucky matchups were 3 solid hours of filthy language.

Goodnight, folks. I love you all. Except for Dirtbag. And the two anime avatar creeps.

All you really need is an undrafted RB, a 7th round receiver, an undrafted receiver with glue hands, and an asshole TE. It works. I've seen it.

I think it might be a close game.
Expecting the Packers to win it though. Isnt the winning percentage of defending SB champs in the first game usually pretty high? I know we won ours against the Vikings (and so did everybody else)

Well, I guess it's a good sign that even Lions fans can muster false confidence.

Come on, Texans fans. Lift those weary heads!

FMT done screwed up our season. Said we would win the division so know we are screwed. :(

Not much on todays practices for the Pats, but this was interesting.

BEST ABILITY TO CHEW UP SPACE

During a red zone passing drill, the potency of Rob Gronkowski's size-speed combo was on display. Running 1-on-1s, the offense should always win in a drill like this. But to see Gronkowski start on the right, run directly at safety Sergio Brown, shake left then step through to the right and leave Brown standing there was alarming on two counts. First, it shows how much space the 6-7 Gronk can cover with each stride. Second, it was disturbing to see Gronk walk past an NFL safety like that. He also posted up Patrick Chung at the goal line on a route where Chung had otherwise outstanding coverage for the better part of three seconds. Gronk's a tough, tough cover.

Gronk is still a monster. Also seems like the secondary are playing the receivers tough. Bodden, and Chung keep getting mentioned in every Pats report. They keep saying those two are playing great tight coverage.

Edit: One important note Vareen got hurt today. It seemed like a leg issue. Forgot to post this
- A chorus of “Happy Birthday” was sung for quarterback Tom Brady, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Wednesday. The crowd went bonkers when Brady was shown stretching during the song, though as Christopher Price pointed out earlier in the day, no love was shown for nose tackle Landon Cohen, who turned 25.

I don't normally post here but I may as well get my statement out.

Peyton Manning, including his glorious forehead, is the greatest player this game has seen.

He will get 2 more superbowl rings before retiring, and finish breaking all records. These next 5 years are going to be amazing. The only possible thing that can hold them back is Jim Caldwell getting in the way of Peyton Manning calling the game.

That's a tall order especially with Caldwell which you've edited in.
Also, Joe Montana is the greatest!

Jerry Rice > Reggie Wayne or Marvin Harrison. Jerry Rice is the best receiver ever so I think in that sense, Peyton Manning had it a little bit tougher.

The way Peyton Manning calls the game in his position is unique and I don't think will ever be replicated to the same level. Thus greatest player ever.

Yeah, hate to break it to you but Payton's little bro Eli has a FAR better chance at getting 2 rings.

Payton's time is up. Can't stand the constant choking in the playoffs.

Ohh shit i missed this post. Fuck you guy. You know the worst part of that season is the Pats had a legit shot at winning 14-15 games that season. Their schedule was so damn easy.

Better hope if you make the playoffs you dont play the Ravens. Remember the last time you played a team that had Pollard on the roster:

Pollard is the Patriots kryptonite. Should have signed him and made him a waterboy or something.

Fuck that asshole he ruined 16-0 part 2. Good thing the Pats aren't playing the Ravens his season.

2003: Indianapolis Colts Vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
That's the low point from my perspective. That game killed the franchise.

Raheem's attempt to piss me off.

Winless and kicking a meaningless field goal late in the fourth.

Anyway, Go Bucs!
5 wins please.

Was that the Simeon Rice "leaping penalty" that negated a game saving blocked FG or PAT game?

Just a combo of Canada GAF, NFL GAF, Fantasy Football GAF, and "I lived in the states before" GAF. It let's me be a single-team fan but pay attention to everything going on without obsessing over the crazy shit like "what is my third string defensive tackle's favorite lasagna?"

I really hope they resign Clayton, seems like the closest thing to chemistry Bradford had for awhile there...the combo of Avery's random big plays and some actual quantity of catch-and-runs.

If Floyd goes elsewhere, maybe Ajirotutu? Or did he resign? (Is there a Chargers GAF?)

I thought Canadians liked the Bills ;)

Clayton isn't healthy yet, according to Spags. I think their hope is that someone emerges from the group. But I sort of view it from the standpoint of if you have a lot of same type of guys, then you don't really have anything.

I thought now would be as good a time as any to introduce myself as an Australian Cowboys fan. Thanks to my dad I grew up in a household filled with merchandise and memorabilia of teams like Cowboys, 49ers, Giants and Packers.

NFL has always been and will always be my favourite sport bar none. Hopefully I will be more active in these threads as the season progresses.

According to Schefter, 7 teams are over the cap right now that need to be under it by Friday

STL $100K
ATL $1 MIL
DAL $3 M
DET $8 M
HST $8.5 M
PIT $11M
OAK $12M

Anyone know a place we can verify this?

Definitely. The receivers are basically all unreliable. We really need a deep threat.

This mouthiness is ok because it is supported by facts.

Fact: We won the division last year.

Fact: We both had horrible losses in the playoffs.

Fact: We lost to the eventual Super Bowl champs.

Fact: NO lost to a team that won it's division at 7-9.

It's good to know that you think Talon- = All Falcons fans too. lol

Cowboys and 49ers? Is that legal? Did the memorabilia spontaneously combust?

Who thought it would be a good idea to wake up Kornheiser's cranky old ass to do Mike and Mike at 9:30 for 30 whole minutes?

And winning has its perks, if you're Clay Matthews.
Allegedly

this was posted yesterday, albeit at PFT.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Wow, glad Detroit had all those high draft picks BEFORE the new rookie contracts.

I have no idea who they are going to cut. PFT had them at $5 million over.

They have 3 mil in exceptions, that could maybe cover the discrepancy. And don't they have the ability to borrow up to 3 million from future seasons now, as well? I imagine a lot of trickery will happen this season to fit under the cap just because of how rushed the whole process is.
