Plaxico Burress "tweaked" his ankle, according to Rex Ryan. Rex says it's "not a major injury."But PB won't practice for day or 2

Man I hope this kid can stay healthy. He has quite a few ankle problems on the Giants too if I remember correctly.

Kid? Dude is a 34 year old convicted felon.

But hom many stations actually broadcast the games live? In Philly it is just 94.1 fm, but I am sure the Eagles make decent money off of that.

there's a few, certainly more than one.

I don't normally post here but I may as well get my statement out.

Peyton Manning, including his glorious forehead, is the greatest player this game has seen.

He will get 2 more superbowl rings before retiring, and finish breaking all records. These next 5 years are going to be amazing. The only possible thing that can hold them back is Jim Caldwell getting in the way of Peyton Manning calling the game.

Ouch. Sucks to have a career end in a the blink of an eye. I believe he had knee issues last year as well.
Wow. What makes this a career ender as opposed to a season ender?

DL coach Nunn says he's never seen a D-lineman as unique as JPP. Expects JPP to play faster this season now that knows scheme/game better

Prove me wrong JPP, but I still think that Maurkice Pouncey/Mike Iupati is the pick the Giants should have made.

Yeah looks like confirmation on Cotchery.

Jerricho Cotchery is a class act. Spoke to reporters knowing that he will be released at some point today if D. Mason passes physical. #nyj

Looks like Jets are signing Mason

More on Cotchery:

In case u were wondering, Jerricho Cotchery tells me taking a paycut isn't going to happen: "I've made sacrifices (for team in past)." #nyj

Cotchery still talking to reporters, basically saying his goodbyes. Reflects on time with #Jets. Release is inevitable. Too bad. Class act.

Really pisses me off when the Jets have no fucking loyalty to a class act.

pepe will be remembered as the guy who had pro bowl receivers his entire career, but still couldnt play past november and the only reason he has a superbowl was because he played against rex grossman

his legacy is being that "other guy" during the Belichick-brady era where the league got dominated by the likes of corey dillons, troy browns and deion branches while pepe manning couldnt beat the jaguars

Jets are gonna make a call on jerricho cotchery at 3:00 today.
I hope they don't cut him. He is one of the toughest WRs in the league.

Meh. The 2007 AFC Championship was the best game between the two teams and the Colts won it on the way to the Super Bowl title.

Considering Maclin's health and Desean holding out, I would love for the Eagles to add Cotchery.

Fuck you, Tannenbaum.

Cotch wasn't making or breaking the budget. All he did was be a warrior on this team forever. I hate this move.

I'll miss you, #89.

Yeah ever since they drafted him he has been injured. This seems to be the most serious and the Eagles probably will cut him having to deal with his injuries for the few years he has been there.

But combined with the injury to Patterson they are certainly very thin again at Dline. I expect to sign a veteran DT at least. Who is out there. They really really should have held onto Bunkely.

Right...

Getting this out of the way, I don't dislike or harbor any hatred towards Peyton. I think he is a fantastic quarterback. Brady is simply better of the two.

Career-wise they're almost exactly even (95.2 vs. 94.9). So you must be talking about SBs.

That's sort of a big difference.

It's a team accomplishment though, it's hard to really say that Peyton wouldn't have won those SBs if he was on those Patriot teams. So if that's the only real difference I'll say that no one should get upset that people would pick Peyton over Tommy Boy.

Oh you.

All I'm saying is Pepe got the job done once, which is more then some other great qb's.

Both of these comments are absurd.

1. I'm not comparing them to "other great qb's"
2. I'm certainly not going to look at their QB Rating and call it a day. Of course Super Bowls are factored when you look at his body of work in obtaining them or getting there.

It depends on the team. I would argue that Brady would fit in on a variety of teams which Peyton would have a difficult time adjusting to.

Peyton's career prior to his super bowl win was filled with poor decisions in big games, especially playoffs. He plays smarter now for sure, but a bulk of his career is marked by stupidity.

That Carolina game was amazing. It was a great football game to watch. Also lol at Mannings super bowl mvp.

It takes a strange turn when you look at it like this. All three of mentioned were in the prime of their careers regardless of their current status.

The Carolina game were certainly the sloppiest, but it was fun as hell to watch them go back and forth like that.

Was that the Simeon Rice "leaping penalty" that negated a game saving blocked FG or PAT game?
Also, the refs fucked up on an onside kick that should have be a penalty because the Colts recovered the ball before it touched the ground. That shit basically lost the game for us because they scored a TD on that drive.

Peyton did have Prince perform at his super bowl, that counts for something.

Cotchery was an underpaid, over performing, never respected or noticed class act. Damn shame to just be cut for short term dinosaurs.

Sad to see that VA's injury be so severe... but as stated earlier, he's always been hurt throughout his career, so this isn't too surprising. Pretty much gone the way of Mike Mamula/Jon Harris/Jerome McDougle as early-round DE busts. Hope Brandon Graham doesn't join that illustrious crew.

and compare the people manning has been throwing at his entire careers with marvin harrisons and reggie waynes always at his disposal. while brady won his bowls with no names and a non existent run game. the only time brady has had any receivers was 07-08 and he put up 50 TDs.

people just cant except that manning is a choke artist, they know but jealousy and bitterness wont let them admit it

Always feared playing Manning. I don't think Baltimore has ever beaten him. But with Brady, that fear was never there. In fact, recently, it seems like we've had NE's number, ever since we barely lost to them in their undefeated regular season. Never remotely had any semblance of Peyton's number. He owns us.

You responded to my post which was intended for Lunchbox, not you. I don't think Peyton will be remembered for choking while Lunchbox does. My post was not comparing Manning vs Brady. It was simply a post to stay I think Manning won't be remembered as a choker. Don't be such a dink.

I wouldn't say that, but it's worse than last year, and I'm not sure Sanchez is ready to up his game enough yet to make the difference.

Edwards >>> Burress big time, and losing Cotchery (if they do) doesn't help. Who do they have to fill that slot? (Literally, I don't know, Jets fans help me out here).

The only saving grace is if Tom does in fact take the spot as a third down back, letting Greene take the majority carries, AND he blows up. I'm not convinced just yet, and I don't think LT has another 2010 in him.
