Well Salsa's trade thread isn't getting me anywhere. Who wants to trade my copy of Rome Gold TW and Humble Bundle 2 for a copy of Dungeons of Dredmor?

I can also trade Dirt 3 and Napoleon TW for Chantelise. All including the above are Steam keys (including Rome Gold TW)

This is backfiring on me now :\

The simplest way of putting it is that I've recently been forced to make a big career decision which gambles the high-level of financial security I've been afforded the past decade or so against making myself a lot happier. Whether or not it pays off in the long term scares the shit out of me, so while I have this security for the next few weeks I'm trying to use a little of it to bring happiness to the people around me since that's always been the best part of it.

GAF has been a part of my day for a few years now, and I kind of like it here. So in a sense you guys are included in the phrase "people around me".

So enjoy your fucking game and stop feeling guilty :P

Thanks jim-jam. I'm happy, and I'm sure Stallion Free will be now that he has someone to play DS3 with. That's 2 for the price of 1!

Well, I don't think this is a bad score for a first game :)
And the quote reflects why we made this game so it's a pretty good one.

Well damn. Do you want Cogs or something? I want to spread some GAF love too.

No reason to feel guilty when you're helping to support Obsidian!

For what it's worth, I plan on playing the crap out of this game. And I will be repaying the favor, since it's what I do.

You're an awesome dude, dude.

Just pay it forward, bros, there is a near infinite amount of love to spread.

Good luck Jim-Jam!

Would totally jump in on this classy gift-giving spree but I just lost my job so yah :P

Anyone want Portal 1 or Dirt 3? Haha

also, just so I don't play the whole game in lonely mode, if anyone wants to play some DSIII co-op, just add me on Steam

I wouldn't mind Dirt 3 if you're serious.

Sent you the PM.

Enjoy :D

I might do some bigger gifting when my severance package arrives. I just dont have much to spend at the moment since I have to coast off of funds from my other job until then, because gamestop decided to ship out the paperwork to me late. SMH.

So that's:

SalsaShark
Aselith
Nabs
Shintoki

Add me on Steam and I'll sort it out. I actually checked and there's no 4 pack for DS3 now, so I'll give you guys copies of the deluxe edition instead.

Also, the concern is touching but I'm not actually dying, at least not physically anyway. My coming death will be a strictly financial one.

If you need to appear broke, you know for bankruptcy or something, you can send me a DSIII deluxe /nudge

I'll even do unspeakable things............. /blush

Got my new PC yesterday and I'm now installing a lot of stuff I've bought during the nine months of not having a PC capable of gaming. Takes forever! I wish there was a way to make a download queue so it wouldn't download the games all at once.

Sent to FR. I'm just not very good at receiving gifts. And I do completely know what you mean though about Gaf being part of that happiness. Even if it is a crutch like I use, its something your appreciative for.

Anyways, the question I've been meaning to ask for the pass hour. I need a headset actually. Something with a mic. I've never owned one and know nothing about them. I don't have terribly much cash either, so I'm not looking for a 100$ one. Just something maybe for like 20-30$. You can all hear my silly, changing voice then!

On a different and less classy topic - So being (sort of) an EA game, theres no (forseeable) reason for Bulletstorm to disappear right? Want to pick it up when it gets cheaper, but with EA games disappearing here and there I'm wondering if I should pick it up sooner.

I'm filing this post away under karmic IOUs. It'll be like bringing your preorder slip to get Duke Nukem Forever.

Valve's perpetual silence gives me ample time to accrue the necessary cash. :p

Without the little things there's not really a whole lot going on I've found. On a more practical note, I assume you're Wild Pink Hair Uke?

DS3 seems pretty good so far. I choose the curvy girl with the guns. She alternates between dual pistols and a shotty (edit -it's a rifle, not a shotty), pretty badass if you ask me.

I just met the Dungeon Siege version of Carth and we've moved on past the burning building. Very nice.

Little things are wonderful.

And yes, Wild Pink is me.

Seeing all this warms my icy black heart. Well done PC-Gaf.

As a sidenote; over the past weeks I have been slowly crawling back to the superior PC-gaming race. After digging up my 2 year old desktop pc from the basement and hooking it up to the telly in the living room, I have been enjoying superior pc games with a gamepad on the couch.

The pricing of the games is a lot lower compared to the consoles, the graphics are far beyond any of the current consoles, and I get to enjoy it from the comfort of my own couch. Huzzah!

Is there still a donkey involved? (Only played the first one.)

And Jim-Jam, props dude!

You see, I don't buy that. It's been discussed here many times, it's impossible to play PC games on a couch. They're incompatible devices. There are no Couch drivers for 64 bits OSes.

I played a little of the Blocks That Matter tech demo. It's pretty cool so far. It looks nice, and runs well. It recognized my controller without a prob. I'll pick it up day 1.

any opinions on dawn of war, since it's on sale this weekend? grabbing the demo now, if it's anything like starcraft, seems like an easy pick up. never heard of the series tbh.

The first is a straight forward base building RTS. The second is similar to squad based company of heroes but with xenos instead of nazis and loot. I'm fond of them both. Where'd you see they're on sale this weekend?

First one is a cool RTS, the second one is more of a Company of Heroes deal where you command very small groups. I prefer the first but the second is more "Warhammer" if you're a fan that cares about accuracy.

I believe Amazon has them cheap on Digital down. I liked the DoW2 series, Last Stand is awesome.

That reminds me, I need to start up Retribution. I was all about Chaos Rising for a minute there, fantastic game.

right here.

doesn't seem like my type of game, but we'll see. RTS tend to have a high learning curve/bad single player so i usually don't play em as i have enough multiplayer timesinks atm. might be worth it if it's good price though.

The Dawn of War 2 campaign is more RPG than RTS. You level up and gear up your guys, and choose your party make up etc. It's been described as a "Diablo with squads", although I don't think I'd go that far myself. There's loot, but not enough to make it the focus, just another element. In an age where big budget RPG combat is getting simpler and simpler, Dawn of War 2 evolved into an RPG from a strategy game and is basically fantastic if that's your thing.

The only thing stopping it from being one of my all time favourite RPGs is that the story is really just WH40k fanservice. The game benefits visually from the license, because of all the model detail, but I find the world and story rather boring.

I should also mention Last Stand mode, which is a three player co-op wave based thing where you control a single hero and level him up and customise his gear and so forth. It's a lot of fun starting with two friends, and overcoming each wave, and trying different builds with your character.

Buy DoW2!
