Most of the Stormblood MSQ that's not on Alla Mhigo is "eastern culture" like Samurais, Ninjas and old Japanese stuff.

You take a rather lengthy "detour" not too long after getting to Yanxia. At first I was really put off by it. Like wtf does this have to do with the main story. But looking back it was a good piece of world building.

You want ALL the regions to rise against the empire. That's why there's a fragment of the MSQ that's literally "let's go to X and see what we can do". Also that zone gives you a lot of world building mandatory for 4.3.

For sure. The objective for travelling to the Hinterlands and Forelands in Dravania was more simple and clear compared to here as you meet the different people, but as I progress I realize "this is war".
Lyse and Y'shtola... Hilda and Yugiri... XIV has some top tier girls

Heavensward 8 man raids are mega cool with more great music for those trekking on through the story and the queues are pretty quick due to the normal raid roulettes and you shouldn't need to spoil yourself on the fights looking up guides.

The patch day this boss was amazing as the whole fight would sync perfectly with the music. The "twenty-two sectors tested, fragments in all directions..." part was synced with all the robots scattering and throwing aoes....so damn cool.
But man Omega's bosses are on another whole level.

ARR 24 man raid kinda has tie-ins with Shadowbringers. About an hour of story in that little storyline, takes 20ish mins to run each one.

they're pretty easy, fun and they're nice spectacles.
also I believe, xp per min, the alliance raid and 8 man normal roulettes are the best bang for your buck.

And they are also introducing you one of the best FF villains. Also i remember how hyped i was with the MSQ on 4.3 and the rest of the expansion. The set up for the next things to come was SO GOOD

Beat 4.0 Story Quests 2 nights ago and damn it didn't disappoint at all. Funny story though, for the final trial my entire party except one left upon me joining and I decided to stick it out and wait for new members to be added. Ended up getting party of 6 and I pointed out how I wanted to finish this tonight so I can progress story and they were so nice and stuck out waiting another 10 minutes despite planning to leave... we ended up getting the remaining healers (one dude logged off and managed to find this trial as a healer as he suggested)

I start a dungeon in Shadowbringers and the game lets me know I can use NPCs as party members now. Not generic soldiers either but actual story characters.

the Rising event letters are really nice. the minion one and all the (I assume) game dev ones are wonderful. thou I wish they let us get all of them one after another instead of getting randoms and repeats. oh well, more tokens for fireworks I guess.

I actually love how they are doing it. For me FFXIV is first a FF with the MSQ, characters, story, plot twists, lore, etc and after that is an MMO with the most amazing boss battles i've ever experienced in my life in an MMO.
They are supposed to make the 2.1-2.5 MSQ shorter for 5.3 so the overall SP experience will be perfect. I'm already excited for a whole game NG+ as now my english level is MUCH better than when I started playing 6 years ago and now i really care about the lore and the characters (I didn't when I started, as a WoW player I played the whole 2.0 as "just another MMO" withouth caring about lore or anything, 2.5 ending was when I got literally sucked into the lore and MSQ).

Also add Trusts to 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0. Imagine fighting Dungeons and Trials alongside Estinien, Yugiri, e.t.c.
Not that it needs to be a priority for the dev team, of course. This is more in consideration for people who play it 10 years from now and whatnot. Unlike XI which would require substantial structural changes to make it offline, I believe we will live to XIV largely preserved just like any other FF experience. Some teenager in 2035 who wants to play through the series will be able to go through XIV's scenarios just fine.

I just do what im comfortable with. Sometimes 2 mobs, sometimes 1. Being able to run through them with NPCs first is excellent because you know what to expect.
Sometimes people bitch at me but fuck em I tank the boss I can tank the chat log too. When I am tank I am alpha chad thunderdick. You go at MY pace cunt.

- Curious af who's pulling the Scions away but I'm guessing its to The First?
- Also wondering who that Elezen is with the Katana...

I recommend to do the whole lvl50 Crystal Tower thing/quest before ShadowBringers. It's very important for the lore.

A little over halfway through the Shadowbringers campaign and my god some bomb shells were just dropped on the party. So glad I've been on Dark Knight since Heavensward. The class seems so much more fitting and I think I read that the person who wrote all the Dark Knight job quests was the main writer for Shadowbringers as well?
