... you didn't know? McFadden is iffy for Week 12 and so is Bradshaw, though he'll try to play.

Iffy for Week 12. Fucking luuuulz

I didn't know that, but it's not surprising. DeSean Jackson will probably be held scoreless, and Dwayne Bowe will probably catch 4 passes for 43 yards, which would be a good game for him these days.

I seem to have a preternatural ability to take players who are going to disappoint. Next year I should just George Costanza all my picks.

Not sure why I give a crap about the Econ League since I'm not getting one of the four playoff spots, but it's been pretty funny to watch my squad go from world-beaters to lol-tastic over the course of a month.

Adrian Peterson (ankle) returned to the sideline for Sunday's Vikings-Raiders game in the second half, but is not expected to reenter the game.

Peterson is able to walk and put weight on his sprained left ankle, which bodes well long term. But the fear is that he either severely sprained it or suffered a high sprain. He was still in pads on the sideline, but Vikings trainers have taken away his helmet. The Vikings were down 24-7 at the half.
No 1st round pick is safe.

Hating the luck involved? I don't think there's a league where 2-3 people didn't do that. But FF has got me watching games I normally wouldn't this year, has to count for something.

Things like me playing Maurice Morris this week under the assumption that he would be starting and getting the majority of the touches and then slitting my own wrists as I watch Kevin Smith, the third stringer that they just signed, put up 38 points.

In fairness, Mo has had a great opportunity and done nothing. Smith is a former Lion starter, and the minute he came back I picked him up. The burst and pass-catching ability is still there.

Rex Grossman is SO STUPID.

Here's your update on the Washington backfield: Ryan Torain got the start, Anthony Armstrong got the first carry, Tashard Choice got most of the first-half carries, Roy Helu got the first touch near the goal line, and Rex Grossman had the rushing score. Hope that clears things up. Helu, per his usual, looks like the liveliest of the bunch.
This is so wrong...

Freeman and Crabtree for Stevie Johnson and DHB has actually worked out pretty well for me.

Maverick!

Edit: Can Michael Turner has rushing touchdown? Yes he can!

At least now you can play spoiler. <shakes fist in rage>

Need Puddles, Sinistar and Rooks to all win this week. Moogle and Sumidor are both 5-5, but I guess maybe I should hope Primetime wins.

Dude, my team has got this. No way Bowe scores 27 points, and Hookers & Blow didn't even start a defense.

I'll be putting your team out of its misery in Week 12 though. Maverick!

Is it wrong that I want Sinistar to actually take the lead in the remaining 3+ minutes of the Falcons/Titans game so I can earn that meaningless Monday comeback medal in Yahoo! fantasy? It's a fricken achievement for crying out loud.

Oh look... Nate Washington scored another touchdown.

Watch this bite me in the ass now. GO GO GADGET GRONKOWSKI!

With the Econ League, I think I got overconfident in the early going. My thought process was something like "I have Kenny Britt, DeSean Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, and Santana Moss. Upgrade WR at the waiver wire? Fucking lulz."

Now, of course, WR is a liability for my team.

Good learning experience though.

Interesting day in No Quitters land...

- The Carpenter-gate fallout may well amount to much ado about nothing. acksman's team trails by 5 1/2 points and Frankman still has Battle and the Giants D in reserve. Frankman still needs as many points as he can muster despite the likely win.

- This week's award for "best smacktalk" goes to Rinker in his still-competitive matchup against the 3-7 Rooks.

- Azwethinkweiz decided to rest on his laurels this week against tantrum-throwing Puddles despite having plenty of dead weight on his roster he could have cut for a bye week defense... but still not bothering. Somehow I doubt he'll be benching his defense when he faces my Broskis in Week 12. So disrespectful. Tsk tsk tsk.

- minx88 continues his monster run back from oblivion following the Andre Johnson trade. This win may have been his most impressive yet as he felled the Commish's entire Charger-filled team with one Vincent Jackson. Following 3 consecutive triple-digit blowouts, minx88's team is finally living up to the TD's component of its name and has put himself in a position where he can win a number of "points for" tiebreakers at 7-6 or 6-7. Next week's confrontation with Crazymoogle in a battle for playoff survival should be one for the ages - especially with AJ returning to action.

- Finally, mr2xxx's Ku Klux Klams were BAKED and sent packing to the bottom of the ocean following one of the most pathetic displays ever witnessed by a fully-manned active roster. His team's total of 22.54 points was the worst offensive output of the fantasy season - half of which were generated by his kicker. While this may seem to be a boon for those sitting outside of the playoffs right now, his team certainly can't be counted on to topple acksman's Wittenhispants in Week 13. Keep praying for that Chargers collapse, fellas.

Surprised anyone is still paying attention to my team. Its amazing I have been able to pull as many points losing, Kenny Britt, Hillis, and Payton Manning(he was a risk I admit) week to week.

Its been a interesting year to say the least.

My team has scored 360 points combined the past 3 weeks. Really hope I can keep this roll going and make the playoffs, because if I do, I think I had a good chance. Have two tough matchups vs Bailkings and Good as Gould these next two weeks. Never thought I had a chance sitting at 2-6 in 16th place a couple weeks ago.

Let it be said that until you're officially eliminated in fantasy you're NOT done. There's always a chance.

Unfortunately, for me in one league... that chance just went up in smoke. I'm dangling trade bait for next year's keeper right now.

Damn my receivers sucked ass yesterday.

Brandon Marshall, Greg Jennings, and Denarious Moore didn't even get me 10 points combined.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Lions are still optimistic about Jahvid Best (concussions) returning for the season's stretch run.
This just in: The Detroit Lions are stupid.
Raiders coach Hue Jackson said Monday that Darren McFadden (foot) will not play until he is 100 percent healthy.
See, that's how it's done.

Nice read on perhaps losing the KR/PR yards being allowed next year, or at least making the points much lower.
It is an unjust scoring system when Stefan Logan is the highest fantasy scoring wide receiver on the Detroit Lions rather than Calvin Johnson. And don’t feed me the argument that, “They are an important part of the team and should get points for what they do.”

No. In that case, let’s make a league where you can draft offensive linemen and punters. Their effort affects games. But no one wants to join the league where I’m taking Steve Weatherford in the fourth round because he’s a beast at pinning teams inside the 20.

Can't wait to see how few points I lose this week's matchup by.
I'm so excited!
Let's see if I can lose by 0.08 points this week to trump Week 3's 103.5-103.4 defeat.

EDIT: Hell yeah! Monday night comeback medal is mine!

I know its early for Week 12 but need some help

Tenn DWilliams vs Tampa
or
Burleson vs GB
Normally, I'd be crowing that it's way too early to be deliberating on Week 12's matchups and to wait for waivers and all that jazz.

But there are THREE football games kicking off in just over 48 hours. And your question pertains to one of them. So screw that.

Start Burleson in a must-win showdown with the Packers in the Motor City. I don't see how you bench him after the Lions offensive explosion yesterday in a game that means so much. Especially with Burleson being targetted 16 times the past two weeks.

Damian Williams has been targetted plenty of late, as well. But you can't trust him after that pitiful 1-catch-for-11-targets performance and I think Hasselbeck isn't quite 100% yet, either.

Thx....Im in a tight race and this week its a doubleheader. Im also thinking about starting Ryan Grant also because Fjax will be game time decision

I don't care if the Packers come out in advance of Thursday's game and commit to giving Grant 30+ touches with Starks hurt, you don't want anything to do with putting your fantasy life in the hands of that washed-up piece of garbage.

I'd sooner start John Kuhn on Thursday than Ryan Grant.

I just cant make up my mind on this and this game will be pivotal for a playoff spot for me. I'm in a league where the scoring rules are kinda crazy so I have to decide between

Cam Newton (530 pts total) 59.0 average vs Indianapolis
---------------or-----------------
Matt Stafford (480 total) 53.3 average vs Green Bay

Man, I cannot at all make my mind up on this. Help!!!

You shouldn't beat yourself up too hard over this decision. Probably can't go wrong with either guy.

I don't see how you bench anyone with the talent of Newton against the Colts, though. Stafford will have all the pressure in the world on his shoulders on Turkey Day whereas Newton can just coast and do what he does best against the "Suck for Luck" Indy defense. Plus, the X-factor is that Cam is going to get rushing numbers as well - Indy is TERRIBLE against the run.

UberTag, how long have you been playing fantasy football? I ask because you seem to have a really good grasp of the theory behind fielding a winning team.

I'll admit this is my second year playing. It's been a really good learning experience.

Damn, I'm interested in what kind of scoring rules could generate those totals. Would you mind summarizing them?

This is Year 4 for me playing fantasy but prior to that I was still following the NFL religiously and picking games.

Actually, fantasy kind of ruined me from being able to pick games effectively as it's led to potential fantasy performance clouding my judgment over which team is best equipped to win on any given week. I went 176-80 picking winners straight up on ESPN for years ago and led their overall Pigskin Pick 'Em competition heading into the final weekend (where I went 12-4 in Week 17 and ended up losing to a guy who went 14-2 making ballsy longshot calls). Haven't been nearly that accurate lately.

As with most things, playing fantasy football effectively is something you get better at over time. You need to have a strong draft and/or be aggressive with waiver pickups - you can usually be successful by excelling in one area if the other is lacking. You need to know your league's rules to give yourself the best chance to win - but luck will ultimately decide the winner. Everything you do prior to gameday is to simply give you the best odds possible given all of the information available.

I lost the championship game with previously dominant teams in two GAF leagues last year. Hoping for better success over the next 5 weeks this time around - 6-5 records are hardly worth boasting about. Although as the 2nd best scoring team in both No Quitters and the Economy League that's largely due to unfortunate schedules - and, oh look, I get a double-helping of Aaron Rodgers this week. Yay!

Heck, Frankman clearly knows his stuff and he's sitting at 4-7. I'm 9-2 in one league and 3-8 in another. Having a grasp on what makes a winning team and putting one together are two entirely different things.
