NOTE: Very interesting that OK State jumped Stanford off of a bye week and Stanford winning against a ranked ND team... That garbage TD at the end for ND in the final seconds seems to have hurt the style points... (that and they didn't look so good in the second half, but pollsters don't actually watch games...) That along with people who had Arkansas being #3, switching to OK State...

So...what happens if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC championship game? I wouldn't say their chances are great but it could happen.

Alabama would seem to be a very poor option at that point.

So...rematch of Georgia/LSU? Georgia/OSU (probably would get my vote)?

Huh??!?!? WTF???

You're thinking Georgia would be in the MNC??

Speaking of Sagarin (to get an idea of computer's rankings). Pretty much the same as last week as there was pretty much status quo this week. Arkansas didn't fall at all despite the loss, but Houston was a big jumper... Interesting to see where the other computers put them as they had an average computer ranking of 12 last week.

1) LSU
2) Alabama
3) OK State
4) Arkansas
5) K-State
6) Oklahoma
7) Baylor
8) Houston (big jump from #15)
9) Oregon
10) Stanford (from #11)
11) South Carolina (from #8)

NOTE: Michigan stayed at 23rd in the Sagarin ranking.

That is so stupid. Arkansas got massacred (twice this year now) and hasn't beat anyone significant. Proves SEC is incredibly PRO at gaming this sytem.

No. LSU and Alabama or lsu/OSU still happens. Assuming OSU wins.

Wish we could've been there... the D was just excellent. 5 sacks, 7 hurries, 153 total yards allowed. And what a sendoff for Miles and the seniors!

For sure. Police fighting Clemson fans in the student section, the stadium actually swaying, non-stop Sandstorm...awesome night.

Here's hoping Alshon stays around....Miles, too.

Here's a video of the cops kicking a Clemson fan out of the student section: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkIxcMGxLGQ

That is FAR more reasonable. Arkansas at 4 just shows what a joke the current computer system is. I'd probably put USC ahead of Ark as well.

Almost surprised the idiot voters don't still have Auburn in the top 25. I mean, they were there despite zero quality wins and four blowout losses. I guess it took the fifth blowout loss to finally move them out. I mean, why can't the media just see that they are getting completely mind-fucked by the SEC?

lol are you guys following the story of that Syracuse basketball assistant accused of molesting kids? Don't know if it's worse, but its certainly turned stranger than the Penn State stuff, as the dude's wife apparently fucked one of the accusers too, and is on tape admitting she thinks her husband is a creep. Boeheim is gonna get Paterno'd too.

They kept Auburn in with the same logic that had you putting UGA in the Championship game with a win over LSU.

UGA hasn't had any blowout losses though, and has a few ranked wins. Granted, I don't think UGA belongs in the championship game unless a lot more chaos happens than us beating LSU. It'd take more than that.

Damn, need to get up to speed on this.

Why is Virginia Tech rated so high? They're probably going to get blasted by a Clemson team that isn't very good...

Compared to teams like OSU and Stanford, their one loss occurred earlier in the season, so it's less in the mind of the voters. They also just blew out Virginia 50-0.

But yeah, their resume looks a lot like Boise State's, yet VT is ranked much higher.

Stanford gained votes on Va Tech and will likely jump them in at least one computer so I expect they will move up to 4th.

At this point the only way Stanford isn't going to get a BCS auto bid will be if OSU somehow jumps up to the champ game and Alabama gets the auto bid for third.

There needs to be some rule added to the BCS system that states that the national championship game cannot be a rematch of a previous game that season if either of the following are true:

1) In the previous game, the losing team lost by more than 13 points, or

2) In the previous game, the number of points scored by both teams combined was less than 31.

Fucking amazing how simple this is. Appoint me benevolent dictator, and I will solve every problem in the fucking world.

Really hoping that OkSU blasts OU out of the water, and jumps back up to #2 in the BCS. Also hoping that voters down-vote Bama in an attempt to game the BCS into not scheduling a Most Boring Game of the Century rematch.

Also, reading butthurt Gator fan comments here is beautiful.

People saying the FSU D isn't good because of the Win-Loss record. LOL. They are #4 in points allowed. The D is good. The key is penalties. In all of the Noles losses, except UVA, they had over 100 yards in penalties. And against UVA it was 90-something yards in penalties. Look back at the Clemson game in particular. Three of Clemson's touchdown drives would have been stopped if FSU's D hadn't committed a giant personal foul that extended Clemson's drive. Similar situations happened in the loss to Wake Forest.

Note that the Noles had 90+ yards in penalties against UF too, but managed to pull that game out thanks John Cantley and company's turnovers.

First one makes some sense, but in this case if the game isn't close there really isn't an argument for keeping the team ranked that high to begin with. If LSU had beat Bama convincingly, Bama would have probably fallen to 5 or so.

As for the second one, well, I guess the answer here is a Houston-OSU MNC! Because who needs defense.

Ain't gonna happen. Gameday is in Atlanta for the SECCG, and the narrative all week will be about the rematch. We could beat OU 100-0 and it wouldn't matter. The almighty Eye Test has decided that LSU and Bama are by far the two best teams.

A couple of fun news items:

Turner Gill has been fired at Kansas

Oregon opening as 30 1/2 point favorites over Fucla. :jnc

UGA is always accepting bandwagon fans. In all seriousness, I'm glad we're being overlooked. We play a lot better that way than when people hype us up.

Edit: UAB coach, Neil Calloway, was also fired today. LSU opening as 9.5 point favorite right now over UGA in SEC Championship game.

You typed that post as if you actually believe your Dawgs won't get blown out as soon as they step on the field.

Get your mind right, son. It has been decreed that nothing will come between LSU and football immortality.

I had a version of my avatar with Turners face X'd out but I was too lazy to switch to it. I may have to find that until the new savior is annointed.

Whoever the new hire is, I'm guessing it will be someone cheap. We'll be paying Mangino, Lew Perkins and the 6 million to Gill. Thanks donors dor scratching up the cash!

I hear Houston Nutt is available.

Haha my bad. Interesting note is that Miles has winning records against everyone in the SEC except for one team. That team is Georgia, Richt is 2-1 against him. These rankings are actually similar to the last time Georgia won, except that LSU was #3.

Yay Gill is fired. We also have to pay the assistants if I am not mistaken. Let's hope Zenger learns from the previous mistake, and sets up a contract which favors the university.

So, shitty championship game basically locked in, yes?

Guess we all have to pull for a Georgia miracle. Dump a lot of pesticides on the grass before the game, maybe?

This week we're all dawgs? hell no. If LSU loses to Georgia, they will only have one loss. Bama and LSU will just switch rankings. That would make a #1Bama & #2LSU MNC

You can't have 3 teams from the same conference in BCS games. Georgia would at least be going to the Sugar Bowl if they won Saturday.
