Your post made it seem like you were ascribing the "same-sex marriage is gross" viewpoint to him, rather than those who actually do oppose marriage equality.

I meant that those who hold the view that gays or 1st cousins shouldn't marry hold it for similar reasons, as there is no logical reason why they should not be able to marry. I was not giving my opinion on the matter.

As I said in my original post which you apparently didn't read properly was that modern evidence suggests that is not the case. I may be mistaken but I was sure that there was no significance in the difference between birth rate defects from 1st cousin couples and others.

I did read it, which is why I brought up birth defects, plus you used a '?'.

Wikipedia says it's roughly the same for a woman in her 20's as a woman giving birth in her 40's.

Not to derail the thread even longer, but gay sex is gross to a lot of people. The repulsion of anal sex is much of the reason why people feel opposed to it.
