FPS went down to 30-35 in some areas with my config, AO, AA, etc, on a single 580.
Thanks for trying it out.

AMD doesn't have an AO option at the moment... so...
Only thing I can think of is turning the LOD values down on my setup to get 40+fps in Riften, I already achieved 60fps everywhere else. You cant see people from far away which really sucks buts it is the only way to get more than 25fps in Riften for me.

The second part of my post was just in general about what I've triedAMD doesn't have an AO option at the moment... so...
Quality gives no flickering.are you guys not getting the stuttering issues with AO anymore? the grass was flickering too much with AO for me on performance setting (oblivion). I haven't tried the new Skyrim compatibility setting or quality/high quality settings.
I'm curious if you can't just edit into the ini but have done no research. I'm using RadeonPro and there's option there. CCC is obviously lacking as you noted. ATI Tray Tools or something else maybe. I will look here in a minute.
If you could test it with a lower res ,as it looks like you're doing it with 2-3 monitors, I would appreciate that.
Can't wait for the new ENB effects to come out.

No, it's allow to increase quality of the game and customize how it looks like by yourself. I can make performance boost only for NVidia cards.

So in the first video he's showing off new textures and a water mod from this very forum? And in the second I have no clue because the vid quality is terrible.
It's pretty high if you don't limit other things. Give it a shot. It's definitely big. What is a cost of Quality SSAO?
Nope.Ah wait I see...I don't have to launch the game through the NMM for the mods I installed in it to work?
Quality gives no flickering.
Nope, not for everyone. For the people who have the AO shimmering, they also have a big chance of seeing it on Quality and High Quality. I did.
Noob pc master race question.
I'm looking into building a PC to play most of my games, and was wondering if this game was the best of the best available as of now. Meaning if I can run this on full specs I should be good for a decent amount of time.

Spend a few hours doing research.
Quality gives no flickering.
The F3 and Skyrim modes are pretty much identical. They both run equally.
I posted about the food mod a while back but since then it has been updated and it's pretty awesome now:

edit: yikes, big pic!
Indeed.Do I assume correctly, that these files go in the Data/textures folder?
Sorry if this has been answered already, but does the latest PC patch fix the Y-Axis sensitivity issues when in high framerate areas?
Think I've finally found the graphics sweetspot for me in terms of mods installed.
This game is stunning in places
Have any AMD users here braved the new newer drivers? Some seem to be happy with them.
Mod questions:
I'm not having a great deal of fun despite thinking much of Skyrim represents an improvement over Oblivion. I think it is because I am fast traveling everywhere, and anytime I have to step outside I'm only thinking "please don't let there be dragon #236 out here" instead of exploring and enjoying the world.
Are there any mods that:
1: Greatly reduce the number of random dragon encounters?
2: Speed up horses and/or leave them exempt from stamina burnout?
Thanks.![]()
Very cool, but I really doubt I would notice any of that if I tweaked the ini.I haven't been keeping up with this thread lately. However, I would like to link to the HARDOCP ini tweaking article published last week.
It has a pretty good summary of what graphical improvements are possible when tweaking the ini file.

I've seen it brought up quite a bit on various forums for the reasons you yourself mentioned. The Dragons all have the exact same attack pattern and don't get any harder other than having more HP. For me, they've just become an annoyance that has to be dealt with before continuing my current quest. You're the first person I've heard of that actually wants REDUCED dragon encounters.
I've actually been thinking of downloading the mod that makes dragons harder. I like the overall difficulty, but I find dragons too easy.
Tazmahn from Skyrim Nexus said:Using the Console Command:
set MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons to 1
Seems to work... haven't seen a dragon in Days. I also check every time I load my saved game with the console command:
Help Dragons 3
And the setting also seems to have stayed in either my save games, or some .ini got modified.
Whether or not you can get an ESP file to properly force this setting, I don't know... I'm not sure how any of you are making mods yet... I'm guessing you all are using the TES4 Construction Set, since Skyrim's is not available yet... and that may not be totally compatibile.
Please let this post be a joke
.Anyone tried the glacier HD retexturing mod? Looks great.

im not laughing? what part did you not like? saturation is high, it does look like lava instead of fire.
Apologies.. Thanks

Holy shit at that fire. The contrast/saturation for the image overall is too high for my liking, but FUCK does that fire look fucking real. Like motherfucking lava pouring out.
So can you still use the FXAA injector mods?
It says somewhere on those mods that you have to revert back your version of the game?
HUH? I don't want to do that.. what does that involve?
There is a Skyrim 4GB which I'm using, but I hope someone makes a Skyrim 8GB. I don't know why Bethesda would be so teh lame and limit the game like that, why not allow it to actively adjust to the system memory capabilities of the PC that is playing the game..
Oh yeah... Console port... developed by modders... yadda yadda.

Is there a mod for just that fire? Or what? Is it the FXAA injector?
I have been using non patched TESV.exe because of random CTDs but haven't really tested the patched exe without FXAA. I'm running on default FXAA Injector files btw.
