Well, yes, but if you click here http://www.time.com/time/magazine and then browse backwards, the 'controversial' topics shown in E/A/SP are not published in the US one and the moronic US ones are never published in other places. You won't see Europe claiming the debt problem is good for anyone.
Not true. Most often the cover stories you see on the E/A/SP magazines are within the American version. The determination of what makes the cover is often a cultural thing. There are very few competitors for Time magazine in America (for news). So, in order to expand their readership they have to appeal to more mainstream issues.
