Damn, I don't get all the negativity going on.

I love South Park, I love Obsidian. This game might be my most hyped from them since New Vegas. (I was never into Dungeon Siege, and while I enjoyed #3 I wouldn't have touched the game if it wasn't an Obsidian game).

Matt & Trey style of humour in an RPG, and due to #1 the age of South Park and #2 the content it might actually focus on more grown up elements since South Park is definitely not for kids.

Aside from the "pee pee" jokes and etcetera this could, in terms of plot, be a pretty awesome and grown up RPG in the end!

Sorry, Matt and Trey: I'll pass after playing Obsidian's previous games and seeing how bug filled and RUSHED they are.

There already is:

Now thats a surprise.

But how can anybody not like south park? The show is still very clever and funny in its 15th season. That's an achievement.

I totally called this yesterday, look if you don't believe me

Guys, no guys, really, guys, it's going to be a South Park game. No, for serious, and OBSIDIAN is going to do it.

I'm excited for this, even though it's Obsidian. Heavy involvement from Matt and Trey will definitely be the thing that sets this on the right track.

How bug filled and rushed they are with some of the best depth, writing, attempts at new gameplay, and etcetera.

Compared to BioWare? Dragon Age 2 wasn't rushed? Or Bethesda? They don't have bugs?

Of the big 3 I would without any question go Obsidian > Bethesda > BioWare and you're missing out by not actually getting into their games. It is to the point I smile and nod when people go "Alpha Protocol is so awesome! I can't believe I listened to all the bad reviews" (this shit is happening in real life at this point man! people I know in real life who are learning this lesson!)

Besides, they actually had a very recent interview where they discussed this (Really hard for an independent RPG studio to get a budget to work with, yadda yadda, whereas internal development the money adds up when it is discussed all at once the guy writing the check will do a double take and they have smaller constraints).

Aside from Knights of the Old Republic 2 (can't find it online :( GoG and Steam both let me down! :( ) I have every Obsidian title ever made man, their games are really not that bad for bugs!

You've gotta be kidding me?

This is what people at Game Informer were "so excited" to see their readers react to? This was the most "shocking" cover of the year for GI?

A... South Park... RPG?

I don't care if Patrick Stewart were doing the voicework and BioWare were doing the RPG elements - South Park?

Talk about a disappointment...

Geez talk about catastrophizing

I hope this means that you also know VGA's Sony surprise. :)

You know... thinking about this for a bit, I'm starting to really like the idea of this, could be ridiculously great.

or, it could suck, hard.

god damnit, Butters

Pretty much this. I can't believe people on the first page are saying "Hype Train Derailed" in regards to this game's subject matter/license. If anything the part to question is whether Obsidion can finally release a game that isn't broken.

Note: I only played KotOR2.

So you are totally basing this on a rushed game, from 7 years ago, on a different engine...

Sounds like you are informed!

Well, I gotta admit, NO ONE saw that coming. A South Park RPG, developed by Obsidian, is definitely surprising. Bleh. I don't care if it gets critical acclaim from media and gamers. I hate South Park and its eyesore visuals.

Yeah the Game Informer hype was disappointing, but fuck yeah I'm excited for this.

If this were a year ago, I wouldn't give this game a second thought; but we're living in a post The Book of Mormon world here:

9 Tony Awards.

One of the biggest Broadway successes in decades.

Matt and Trey have proven without a shadow of a doubt that they can bring quality writing and satire to pretty much any medium they set their sights on.

I expect an RPG that completely rips the entire genre a new one. It'll be delicious.
