Hypothetical here: you walk onto a used car lot, looking for a car, the lot is full of mostly junk and a few good ones, but nothing you really want....then Dolph Ziggler steps out of the office and greats you as the sales rep.

What do you do?

Be several thousand dollars poorer.

Sorry bro, I walk in the shadows of noone. You might do your best to remember that.

Sure man, then I guess you wouldn't mind some active competing tonight.

By the way, I just forgot, Smackdown isn't on tonight cause it was on tuesday. lol.

I wish I watched impact

I was thinking the other day about wrestlers using a 'new' finisher or signature move to end matches that never really caught on. What are some of the ones you remember?

Chris Jericho's "Breakdown" move? That faceplant?

I don't follow TNA wrestlers. They speak differently than us.

I really like Ryder's ECW finishing move, the Zack Attack. (Which was also Matt Striker's) That move pretty much made me think that Ryder was a legitimate threat in this fake wrestling business. It looked like it hurt like hell. I wish he kept it instead of the Rough Ryder.

Also, jeez -- after seeing that old clip, it really is evident that Ryder is balding.

1) That is a really shitty finisher
2) balding is what happens when you gel the shit out of your hair

You spout that like its some sort of threat.

And no, you don't wish you've watched impact.

I think I remember that, ...yeah Jericho I don't think so.

that explains my balding then :\

Like I always say Parallax, it's not a threat, it's a promise.

Yes I do, I missed the drama between Roode and his family :(

The Brock Lock
Batista's submissions (ankle lock, rings of Saturn maybe as well?)
Kane's falling powerbomb
Carlito's Cool Shot
Undertaker's various other submissions like the dragon sleeper and triangle hold.

I think Jericho also tried a sleeper drop at some point as well, on a similar note "the one" Billy Gunn went to replace the fame asser with a pretty awesome sleeper drop that's kind of similar to the zig zag in a way....yet more Gunn/Ziggler similarities!

HBK's Figure Four Variation

although, I think it was incorporated into his move list, just not as a finisher later on.

Ring of Honor may soon be rivaling WWE and TNA in the TV stakes with its own women’s division, reveals Queen of Wrestling, Sara Del Rey.

Speaking to Diva Dirt exclusively on last night’s episode of DD360, Sara spoke about her current status with ROH and recent discussions with the company, including the prospect of a new Women of Honor division next year as part of ROH’s new TV show under the Sinclair Broadcast Group banner.

The first ever SHIMMER Champion reveals the exciting news that ROH may be launching a women’s division and have expressed interest in bringing her back.

The previous ROH on HDNet series featured the occasional women’s match, but a full-fledged women’s division never came to fruition.

Sara says: “Right now, they’re really starting from scratch again just re-establishing the brand and the product with Sinclair. I’ve talked to them recently and they have hopes to start the women’s division up, hopefully next year sometime, and they definitely want to include me.”

Awwwww yeah, women's wrestling on TV just got awesome. Hopefully the 'division' will be more than just Sara and Daizee this time.

I'd actually prefer if they didn't have Daizee Haze this time. Or at least, if they do bring her back, for the love of God make her eat a sandwich...or 100.

What ever happened to Lacey<3?

She quit wrestling to focus on college from what I heard. I don't know if she has shown up much since the end of Age of the Fall.

Didn't Triple H used to try to make the Sleeper his finisher?

He did used to bust it out a lot more, i'm thinking he used it more often in either 2000 or 2003.
Occasionally he brings in an Indian deathlock as well, not as a finisher mind you.

And i've just remembered the lasso from el paso for Eddie Guerrero, it seems that trying to make use of a submission move is required for main eventers at least once during their careers, I dread the day the Orton chinlock becomes a devastating hold.

She stopped wrestling, don't think the reason was ever made public - she returned to SHIMMER as a manager for a while though, but I don't recall seeing her on any SHIMMER shows for a year or more now.

I concur, I was never a huge fan of Daizee in the ring, but she was cute until she got all muscled up, and then all emaciated. I'd guess that any new women's division in ROH would reflect the changes Sinclair has made to the product overall, so would be more serious and competition based.

Personally, I hope they use Portia Perez, Madison Eagles, Cheerleader Melissa, Mercedez Martinez, etc - bringing over some joshi talent on a regular basis would be amazing too.

let's hope Sin Cara never tries something else for a signature move.

he could always Jump onto someones back and apply it?

That wouldn't lead to some botches would it? :P

The botches are all fun and games right now, until he snaps his opponents neck desperately trying to apply it correctly, unless he was going for that demon neck crank move in No Mercy and DoR. Takes the term finisher all too literally.

Edit: I tend to forget about La Mistica, he should use it more often in WWE, well when he returns that is

Uhhh, you guys realize Cara already has a submission right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak_DYN8FW_M&#t=0m35s

That's also Plywood's submission (he takes after his hero)

Sin Cara was framed! It wasn't him, it was the Hunico!

I'd be happy with this. Any women's division would be better than WWE or TNA. With WWE, they forget the divas exists, but they still throw them out there every show and it hardly makes sense. With TNA, they try too hard to replicate attitude era women's wrestling and it comes off trashy.

I remembers HHH's Indian death lock, I always thought it didn't look good.

I don't know. If you go about the guideline that finishing moves are supposed to be amongst the most impactful moves that a wrestler has, the inverted overdrive looks more painful than the leg lariat that he uses now.

What is your opinion on "good" finishing moves?

Oh God...

The Divas are so worthless they're being put into romance angles now.

Latest victim is Del Rio. Poor guy has to put up with the Bellas.

Something that looks believably lethal. Stunner, Sharpshooter, Super Kick etc. Zack Attack is pretty tame (as is Rough Ryder).
