Due to me listening to the Audio books it's kinda hard not to think of characters as being 30+ years older then they are. So Stannis is pretty much a bulkier Tywin in my head.

Would like to say I'd Hit It! But that picture is just too blurry. Would love to see a picture of Qhorin Halfhand surface. He's my favorite character from the books. I would definitely hit the Halfhand no matter what! My body is ready for you, oh fingerless champion of badassery!

Glad they got a kid commentary.
Should be fun:
N. Ep 2 ‘The Kingsroad’ w/ Commentary by Lena Headey, Mark Addy & nikolaj Coster-Waldau
O. Ep 3 ‘Lord Snow’ w/ Commentary by Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams & Isaac Hempstead-Wright
Q. Ep 6 ‘A Golden Crown’ w/ Commentary by Pete Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Harry Lloyd and Daniel Minahan (Director)

I'm just happy Martin is only doing one.

It seems to me that having Dinklage (Tyrion) as the "main" character in the marketing would make the most sense. The early books are in many ways about various character's turns at the game of thrones, or governance. In GoT we see the realm ruled and impacted as Ned saw fit, from his compassion for smallfolk to his fateful decisions that lead to war. In ACOK, it's Tyrion's turn to not only govern, but defend the crown.

With that in mind, I'd imagine Tyrion will be on the season's main advertisement poster. Will he be sitting on the throne like Ned? Who knows; if so I'd imagine the shot will be more zoomed in a bit heh, as having the diminutive Dinklage sitting on the chair with his legs dangling about could be odd.

I would like to see the throne angle continue, personally; the show is called Game Of Thrones still, afterall. Seeing new claimants such as the (much improved looking) Renly on the throne as well as Robb, Stannis, and Joffery makes sense, as does a subtitle along the lines of "Kings Will Clash."

Also, I wonder if the advertisement will show the dragons?

Doubtful. HBO has been downplaying the fantasy elements since the beginning. It's a huge turn-off for some people.

I expect to see Tyrion on the throne, sitting sideways all laid back and wearing his Hand pin.
maybe with a pimp cane

Hell, they could just use this picture.

...

True, but book one has a pretty small amount of fantasy/magical elements to begin with. later books spoiler-ish:
They seem to become more prevalent in the rest of the books.

I have a feeling if the fantasy is a huge turn off for some people they probably shouldn't be watching a fantasy TV series.

I think people are willing to make an exception for grounded fantasy like this. Also, the wights are basically zombies, and everyone loves zombies.

I'm lttp on this. But I recently marathoned GoT and I friggin' love this show. I haven't been this hooked on a show in forever. I'm trying to stay spoiler free and have avoided the books, but it's not easy. I don't know if I can hold out until the new season. Such an awesome show.

Glad you like it. I think at this point, most of us have read the books. I didn't start reading them until after Season 1 began, but I quickly went through the five that are out now. I'd recommend sticking to this thread, since the others are pretty heavy with the book spoilers.

The first episode got me into reading again! I can't recommend the books enough if you like the show!

WiC mentions Buster Reeves isn't working on S2 according to the video, which might be a good thing imo. To me some of the fights in S1 were very odd looking, especially Ned v Jaime. I didn't expect a Spartacus-esque duel, but everything seemed so slow during that fight. To me the best fight was the mountain ambush
Yeah, the ned vs jaime fight wasn't very good. Sometimes their swords would get to their mark too slow. Though only cool part was when Ned punches Jaime in the ribs. I like how they gave the North the dirty fighting style.

Book 2 is huge for Tyrion, I think he will definitely be the focus of marketing. After that the marketing will be pretty damn tough though.

Didn't I read somewhere that all the dicks were prosthetic, at least Hodor's?

Hodor walks around Westeros with a prosthetic dick on?

Yes, it was a prosthetic. But that just means that Kristian Nairn doesn't have a big enough dick to match the epic size required to accurately depict Hodor's manhood.

I thought the Bronn fight was weird. I mean, I understood what they were going for, they wanted the audience to be surprised that the sell-sword beat the noble knight. But they made Bronn a little too much of an underdog, he is supposed to be a straight up badass in the books, and they made him kind of awkward in that fight.
