You don't need the monsters to be zombies for it to be called a zombie game, when everything else about it looks like it came from zombie stories.

He didn't seem very Drake like. He doesn't look like Drake much, he certainly doesn't wise-crack like Drake, the girl does that. He is more of the mature and wise father figure. Completely different to Drake.

I don't understand the complaints about the zombie genre. Unless you've played every or most of those games I don't see a reason for complaining. The fact that thos games exist means absolutely nothing.

I understand on some level since most zombie games take the same approach. You usually just have waves of them coming at you nonstop throughout the entire game. What I don't understand is why people think that this game will follow that formula when the trailer suggests that it's going to lean a lot more toward the survival side of things.

i kinda doubt it. it seems they'll be traveling across the USA. Different locations will likely be different chapters; they'll script the skill requirements out of the game and people will scream and celebrate this fact because they got to see a boat crash through the side of a skyscraper while forgetting they're not actually playing anything

I'm actually going off of two things - one is Naughty Dog's focus this gen, and the other is the short description we have on this game:

The Last of Us is a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Abandoned cities are being reclaimed by nature and the remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.

It's going to utilize Naughty Dog's cinematic strengths to provide a very scripted experience, I can almost guarantee it. Mark this.

Yes, it seems to be focused on survival from:

Other survivors
Fungi Monsters
Environment/Nature
Food/shelter


However we need more details about how they are tying this concept with the gameplay.
